QOTD: Terra typing to me will be the biggest added depth to competitive pokemon since z moves. Since dynamax was OP in 1v1, we never really got a 1v1 mechanic that every pokemon on your team could use without specific items (mega stones and z crystals). The difference being that the terra type will be an inherent quality of the pokemon, and unless there's a "nature mint" way of changing types, it will make non-showdown teambuilding more of a chore, but the flipside is that a whole team of 6 will have 6 potential surprise terra types, which will make it much harder to suss out team synergy and strategy. While some pokemon might become OP, I think it will enable a lot more off-meta strategies that can rely on the sheer volume of types you can attribute to the eventual non-OU mons. Even OU mons that will earn their spot in OU (or other tiers) because of their ability to terrastilize (like mons with a bad defensive typing that can suddenly get stab body press for example) will be able to surprise a more developed meta by NOT running the expected "meta" terra type and catching people off-guard that way. Either way, I feel Terrastilizing will be a huge goldmine for showdown content creators like yourself who revel in highlighting off-meta strategies, and with 6 new variables to think of for every team, it will make the theorycrafting aspect of pokemon that much richer.

Now that I see vital spirit, how do abilities like that interact with effect spore, tri attack etc.? Does it tell you it blocked the status effect or does it just pretend nothing got triggered in the first place?

yea it just wont trigger :) but vital spirit is only for sleep so direct sleep moves like spore, sleep powder, etc will say it failed, effect spore just won't trigger the sleep, and tri attack doesn't have a chance of putting you to sleep anyways so it'll be normal (without burn cuz magmortar is fire type)

Good question, so I think it's important to remember what we'll be trying to hit with Lava Plume. Against anything that takes neutral damage, i think the difference in damage output between lava plume, flamethrower, and fire blast won't make much difference since it won't really OHKO anything neutrally in the tier (hence why the 30% burn chance is more important). Now if we target things super effectively for example Rillaboom, Buzzwole, Magnezone, etc it's gonna probably OHKO those anyways with Expert Belt so no need to upgrade the move to more power :)

Hey Emvee, can we see a choice band tapu koko? Everyone is using screens or specs. I feel like a choice band could catch some people off guard. I’vebeen using it for a bit with Wild charge uturn iron head (for the odd ninetales) and brave bird. I feel like a mixed Landorus Therian would be more optimal to run EQ if you’re going to run weatherball. That 145 base attack is just wasted. Plus I notice you run max hp a lot when investing in your defenses is better for most Pokémon unless the hp stat is really bad, as a general rule
