Decades ago my home was invaded. I was alone. They thought the house was empty. It took 20 minutes for police to arrive. People, you are on your own. I came face to face with a stranger at the threshold of my bedroom door. I was prepared to swing my bat as I placed myself AT the doorway. Little chance of the swing missing if he stepped through the ARCH of the bedroom door. I spoke no words. They decided to leave. They could see the phone off the hook and knew cops were coming and decided it would not be prudent to attack me at that point. Cops cannot defend us. We must be prepared and willing to defend. I no longer choose a bat for defense. This 72 y/o lady thanks you Sir.

We need to stock extra for the disabled and elderly in our communities. We cannot leave them out. A lot of them don't have anybody or a means to prepare for themselves so let's not be greedy and remember to think about them. Things that we would think they may need such as bandages and batteries, food and water etc. I can't help but think about the little old lady or disabled old veteran down the road that's got nobody to help them and is a sitting duck. They fought to keep us safe the least we can do is keep them alive.

Thank you for remebering the elderly , single women and the bad spellers (😂 ) . We must all stick together and help each other . My dr office said something rather strange when i was making my next appointment . For november . She asked me if i wanted an appointment before or after the election ? Got me thinking ..if you can get extra meds do so and consider halving some meds if you can in case you cant get out for any reason . Might be time to talk to the women of all ages in your life ..Tell them things have changes as they know it and the new "tourists " coming over ol mexico way have very different ideas about women and they need to keep safe . Dress and going out in public isnt safe now even with men from school still not safe .

I was there, I've lived in north Texas most of my life and our infrastuctire ain't built for ND cold. It got down to -18 and didnt rise above freezing for almost a week. That being said, the power in my area was on a rotation of 45min on and 2hrs off. Any plumbing that was in an outside wall was frozen solid. We had no heat during the outages and the temp inside the house got down to 45 at the lowest. We got through just fine.

I enlisted at 17 and had a desk job for three years, three years inactive guard and then three years active guard. I don't recognize this country anymore either, but I have to say I predicted most of this as far as the change in people back in the late sixties because much of the behavioral change in people is drug driven, a lot of madness out there. As far as government goes, people just don't pay attention to what their politicians are doing and continue to vote for the wrong political party. It's all online if people want to do the research on who crafted what bills and who voted for them and what effect it had on your life, not a secret.

A man was once fell into a body of water and prayed for God for help. A boat comes by and asks if he needs assistance. He said “no God will save me.” 2 more boats passed and asked if he needs help, again he replied “no thanks God will save me.” He ends up drowning and once he died he asked God “I thought you were going to save me.” God replied “what do you mean I sent you 3 boats.” There’s many times God tells his people to prepare for disaster in the Bible including when the plagues were unleashed onto pharaoh for not letting the Israelites leave their enslavement. “Take the blood of a lamb and put it on your doors.” That saved the Israelites when God took the first borns of the Egyptians for not listening.

Always boil stored water if you are consuming it. Save liquid laundry detergent containers, fill with water when empty. Dont rinse out the remaining detergent, but mix with water to make cleaning water for washing your hands. My wife and I live several miles out in the country. 13 years ago we bought 20 acres in a very remote location for hunting. We put a FEMA trailer out there and would camp quite a bit while hunting or just getting away from society. Since the China Virus fiasco, we have refocused our intentions for our property. We have had a concrete slab poured, put an adequately sized metal building on it and are transforming it into a long term retreat in case of worst case scenario events. Water well, spray foam insulation, small Jotul wood heater that we can also cook on. We have an unlimited supply of firewood, meat, and water as well as wild edibles. We can food and jellies throughout the year. There will be many obstacles and hurdles but we will be fairly ready for whatever this worlds evil throws at us. Hopefully by Gods grace it won’t be anytime soon that we need it but it seems like the world has been in a downward spiral into a prophesied oblivion that is inevitable. All we can do is hope, pray, train, and prepare.

I went thru the civil war and major earthquakes in Nicaragua (72-79). No water for days and electricity once a week for a brief period of time. Water and salt (Celtic or Himalayan) are your friends. Three cases of Costo water will supply a person drinking water for a month. Nowadays I always stock canned Salmon, dry rice and beans, canned beans, pasta sauce (one cup will level up your sugar and potassium), pasta, salt and always have three cases of water. I also have Advil, raw honey (3lbs), alcohol, Merthiolate and solid shoes. I have solar packs to power cellphones and flashlights. Can opener, matches, a small towel pack, duct tape, a small pale. Hiking shoes in good shape. In Southern California (unless you live by the mountains) you are surrounded by 30 miles of concrete jungle. So, finding water and food sources is a no wining task (20 million of us.). Also make sure to get 90-days refills for meds a month prior to running out. I have a BBQ grill with a 4Gallon propane gas if I need to cook. The first three days will be the hardest and most chaotic

Correction, Ernie-- it's usually 3 days without water (rule of 3's), however you will start to feel the effects of no water even after 24 and for sure 48 hours. Like Jordan stated, headaches or migraines can easily ensue. About food, the rule is 3 weeks. Don't be fooled thinking you can go OVER 30 days and be alive (flawed thinking).....nonsense. Try going ONE week w/out food and see what happens.....your body will start to shut down, obviously. Don't get me started on what happens to the brain. One can "technically" go 3 weeks w/out food, but that person will be worthless after 1-2 weeks w/out fuel. Have you ever fasted for just one day? Holy crap, it's not easy. I can't imagine even one week let alone 3 weeks. Then one must think about children, etc. It can turn into a damn mess quickly. Peace.

Bamboo is amazing! It’s a grass. Two basic varieties, clumping or running. Be careful, running varieties will overtake a property! Clumping will mature in a short time. There are probably hundreds of subspecies. It’s edible. In a volcano stove it will burn hot! Must be dried or seasoned like regular wood. Does not seem to deplete soil nutrients but hard to tell. In Florida where I live, sandy soil is the norm!! I compost everything I can! Hope this helps!!

I just want to say this about life without "modern conveniences." I lived for 4 years, in Illinois where it's cold, without a peep of electricity, in a big farmhouse. It was my dad and I who took care of the rest of our family. Mom cooked on a wood cook stove in the kitchen, but we burnt only wood on two big heating stoves, and it barely kept the place warm. And, we knew what we were doing. We had the tools for lumbering and the skills and were both fit as lumberjacks, which we essentially were. People, it was still a m/f'er surviving in the cold. We had access to almost unlimited forest, too. If you don't have skills and equipment, wood heating is going to be just about impossible in northern areas. We made it, and thrived, and after all is said and done, none of us kids would trade the knowledge gained during those hard times for anything, because now we all know that we can get through the tough times. I'm worried about the younger generations, who didn't get exposed to skills of the old timers. A lot of those ways are just about lost, at a time when we may need them.

Hey Chad- don't throw out those plastic milk jugs. NO, don't save them for drinking water- unless that is all you have. Then, they would need to be thoroughly cleaned. But, I'm saving ours, washed of course and filled- FOR washing dishes and our hands etc. If you own canning jars, and a water bath canner...CAN some water- I do a 10 minute water-bath! It's part of my hurricane preps. We have a way to get water out of the well. However, if that went down...A few quarts per person will do a WHOLE lot if needed. I'm in a storm group and we talk a lot about activities of daily living. So many people do NOT realize what it takes to get them through 1 day, because of habits. Take 1 day, and make yourself do the "what do I do every single day list." Then it will be easier to make a 3 day supply list, and then a 2 week supply list...Zechariah 4:10 - Don't despise small beginnings! Signed- not a dude, 😆😂 Thanks, Chadd.

Granted I am not a former Navy SEAL or Army Ranger or anything like that. But I have spent most of the last 25-30 years attempting to more or less prepare myself for something bad to happen in this country. Like a lot of peiole people I have armed myself, stocked up on ammo and food as best I could. But what really is "preparedness"? What exactly are we truly preparing for? How can you truly prepare for anything without a crystal ball telling you in fairly accurate detail exactly what will come your way? Everybody seems to think that they can stockpile and just hold up in some defensive position. If everyone does just that it doesn't make us any more than isolated targets easy to pick off at will. What kind of an outcome can we expect from any potential comming conflict if that is the strategy going forward? Now granted: you may be a veteran who has seen combat and is highly trained but you will have in your care wives kids and/or senior family members, perhaps friends who you can't say the same for. We have no clue how bad it will get and for how long. Nobody even knows if being able to hold up in some defensive position will even be an option. I don't care how well you've stocked up on weapons and ammunition and water and medical supplies, sooner or later you are going to run low and run out of something that you and/or someone in your care needs if we are talking about a prolonged situation. Then what are you going to do? If shit gets crazy in this country the absolute worse thing we can do is isolate ourselves and go on the defensive. There is NOTHING good going to come of that, not for us as individuals or for our communities or our nation as a whole. If things do go south in this country and all hell breaks loose this may be our one and only shot to fix what the Hell is broken in this country and it may take a proper application of force to do just that. What will the alternative be if we miss that opportunity? My guess is it will look something like Hell on Earth. And if that is the case then what the Hell are you really surviving for? What kind of a future can you expect for yourself and your kids if that is the ultimate outcome? We have to do more than just hide in our homes and on our land safe guarding little piles or provisions and "shoot first and ask questions later" at anything that moves our way.

My millionth survival video and STILL no one EVER (except 'maybe' one time THAT'S ONCE!) mentions SLEEP! My entire bugout set up is built around sleeping properly. Go 40 hrs without sleep and you're tripping. You'll walk straight past piles of food and ammo and not even noticed it's there...and then you die. Start at SLEEP! How the heck are you going to sleep when you ain't running? This guy and his family dead week one along with millions (potentially) of others because their guns weighed them down and they were too confused and TIRED to work it out. START AT SLEEP! Everything else?... you'll work it out. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️🇺🇸✝️

You will need a community. People got people through the great depression, not government. People will help keep watch. People will help carry gear. People will help with diverse skill sets. People will help maintain what has been built. People will help with comapanionship and produce different perspective. People will help with resupply. It would be best to establish this community before bad times. Best place to find a community full of devoted and moral people, church. Not everyone who goes to church is good, but you will be surprised how many of them are willing to be a person you can depend on.

I have a creek 700 yrds from me. I own a pond, I also have a hand pump installed on my well. I heat my house with wood, use the ash to make lye, milk from my goats to make soap. I really need to beef up my fuel supply. I've been collecting hand tools and using them, because we'll eventually get there. You could run a diesel on deer tallow if need be... I've been stacking books and knowledge of the old ways.

If you can't effectively fight/defend youorself and your base (house, cabin whatever), then all your prepping, food stores etc are just there for the taking. All you're doing is collecting and saving stuff for the strongest person on the block. When SHTF, I would stop at nothing to protect my family and if that means doing a recce on a soft target to get supplies then that's exactly what will happen. Everyone is a potential target, don't be like everyone and make yourself a hard target so any potential attackers move on to someone else. Be prepared, have some fortifications, sensors/trail cams, IED's on well used entries, consider teaming-up/strength in numbers etc.

Water is like oxygen you got to have it. My water pipes froze last winter and my landlord was out of town for seven days. It was too cold to unthaw them, got the supply line shut off. Luckily I had two 7 gallon totes to flush toilet and 20 gal jugs of water. I had stocked up on baby wipes, canned foods & 2 months of cat food and litter. Bathing & washing dishes a no bueno. Got more water for the totes from the fire station down the block. Big reminder about about stocking water.

Bone broth is invaluable for fluids when run down, dehydrated, or just for cooking with nutritious liquids instead of water… Bone broth is as simple as cooking a whole chicken in the instapot, on high pressure for 4 hours, 1/2 cup red wine (this keeps the meat from getting tough), 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, I add either fresh rosemary or turmeric (great anti inflammatory). You can get 3 good quart size jars of jellied bone broth, plus a couple pounds of meat for freezing chicken salad or making pulled chicken. You do have to can or freeze the broth. This is a great liquid nutrition source to store. Hydration is more than water and helps ward off illness.

This is spot on...water is everything. Have seen guys on a forced march who laid on the ground after 50 miles chocking on swollen tongues due to a lack of water. You could carry as much as you wanted and they had wished they had carried more, much more. Also, canned food doesn't need to be re hydrated! If you are backpacking then freeze dried is good given that ample sources of water will be available. Otherwise, canned foods are already hydrated and in most cases cooked therefore REDUCING the need for precious water and fuel. Modern commodes require about two gallons to flush. If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown flush it down, if you have sufficient the water. Also, get large tarps to capture water if it rains and place buckets, under gutter drains. Five gallon plastic buckets are cheap BUT keep small kids away. They present a drowning hazard for the curious wee ones. Matches, bic lighters, ferro sticks, and some lighter fluid to light fires. Even gas stoves, if there is no electricity will require a spark (given we still have natural gas - not likely). Paracord for clothes lines if you have ample water to wash. Lots of TP even if you are digging a hole in the ground to go. Paper plates, paper towels and plastic utensils reduce water usage - no cleanup required. Be prepared to burn waste (keep rats and other varmints away from your dwelling) so have lighter fluid on hand too. Some stoves will burn white gas and unleaded fuel. Be CERTAIN THE STOVE IS DESIGNED FOR GASOLINE. SIPHONING GAS FROM YOUR CARS TANK CAN RESULT IN BURNING DOWN YOU HOME IF YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!. Know how to do it SAFELY! If you don't know, DON"T DO IT. AND NEVER LIGHT A FIRE WITH GASOLINE UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!. Many gasoline components are very light (butane bp 33F)and vaporize immediately causing unseen vapor clouds. Many a person has ended up in the hospital using gasoline to light the charcoal grill. Also, have soap to keep hands clean and baby wipes. Don't get sick because of a lack of hand hygiene. Brush your teeth to prevent gum and tooth infections. You can smell like poop but be careful about hand and utensil cleanliness when preparing food. AGAIN, he is exactly right, it is water, water, water then food and shelter. People can live days and weeks without food but about the best you can hope for is 3 days without water and by day 3 you will probably be incapacitated. If you are on meds get at least a 3month supply now! Children and the elderly are most vulnerable so think about their food and med needs (motrin, tylenol, diapers, wipes, formula, canned milk...) Also, think about head lamps and as he mentions lots of batteries for working in the dark. IF all of this sounds scary and unfamiliar then, take the course he is offering BUT DO IT NOW!

The very greatest thing you can have in ANY situation you need it in is the attitude of survival, no matter what. It will give you the eyes and ears and physicality you need to do what needs to be done. And, when all else fails, you knowing you WILL make it without for awhile will carry your body farther than you would've ever thought. I would think this is what carried those through amazing survival situations, such as 40 days adrift. Know it, live it.

Those in control want chaos, don't give them what they want. If it does then, or any other time. Don't prepare just to for you and yours. Prepare to care for others. Nothing more powerful than doing Gods will. Even when things seem completely out of control, God has complete control. Those that know him, know this in their heart. Those that don't, it's true. He's real. Help and give to others and share the good news of Christs forgiveness, his grace, his gift of eternal life purchased on the cross. Then you win no matter what.

I lived in Sarajevo in the early 2000's to mid 2010's and know many people who survived the siege there (I do speak the language). I was told so much about that time from Sarajevskis (my neighbors and landlord first and foremost) and gleaned some amazing tips from them about "surviving" in urban environments (I do hope to remember it all if the time comes here). Not appropriate to elaborate here, but their real-life experiences taught them a mindset which is far broader than what we American's think about as "survival". Beyond that, having grown up rural and with decades of backpacking, climbing, camping, hunting experience (and a short time jumping out of planes and helicopters via 1/325AIR), one of the most interesting little devices I have ever come across is a "Kelly Kettle" (I am not sponsored or in any way affiliated with). I bought the first one ever shipped into Bosnia circa 2011 and now back in the States, have bought two more. Thanks for your service and continued urging and prompting for us to live more intentional lives. ETA: Bought a hat a few months back....just trying to do my little bit to support.

Hi Chadd hope you are feeling better. Looks like you are doing better. On the cooking stove instead of propane I would suggest a duel fuel stove. Uses gasoline of Colman fuel. I purchased one in the 1990s and it still works just fine. Used it Elk hunting in the Rockies, Hunting in the Appalachian mountains( I live In the Appalachian mountains), I also used it when the power goes out. Another thing for cooking with very little wood is a rocket stove. You can do a lot with twigs with a rocket stove. These people need to know how to make a rocket stove and how to use it. Another suggestion is learning how to use a magnet to light a LED bulb without batteries. Have magnet and have light. I have multiple potable water sources in my area. My concern would be people going to a spring and many people get water there. More people would be there getting water in a SHTF situation. So my concern would be my safety if people are stressed and someone flips out. Someone is inconsiderate and fills up 20 5 gallon water bottles and holds other people up. Someone gets pissed. There are people there many times getting water. They don't need to buy bottled water they just go to the spring. It runs constantly at a very good flow. There is a place in highland county Virginia. I saw the cave. A stream of water comes out of that cave that is a massive amount of water. It is not quite a river but way more than a creek maybe small river level on water flow. All of that water is potable. If DC was nuked they would possibly move survivors there because they can supply enough water for them. People need to scout out water for certain. 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without air. There is so much people need to learn for this type of situation but the enemy is planning on taking out and attacking our power grid. On the Q posts they showed the antifa people with gas cans and chain saws to take their evil to the rural people. Chains saws to cut down power lines and gas cans to start forest fires. The Shenandoah was burned during the civil war. The Massanutten mountains and Blueridge mountains were burned by northern troops. I have a tractor with all the implements I need. Many of my neighbors have tractors and heavy equipment. My sister not far from here has 7 horses. Have not rode one in a long time. Used to ride bareback when I was a kid on a chestnut pony with a black main and tail, my grand mother had on her farm. I used to get on that horse bareback and control it by its mane. Too old for that now, I would just get hurt. LOL. I had a bit and bridle for it there. Used it if I walk kids on the horse. Anyway have 8 miles of national forest behind my house. No one lives in it. Like it that way. I have a hand pump for my well. Plus a generator I can run to pump water. Figure I will have to give my stupid sheeple neighbors water LOL. I will put a baptismal pool right next to the well pump. They have to listen to me then and well try to get them saved.

Just Imagine if your Bug out Location already had 1 years worth a grain stored under ground, and 100 Native fruits and Nuts! It would be easy going when you move to it. You could store fire starting equipment too. For me, I am moving to my Bug out location by the end of the year. I'm preparing now for it.
