I love how different every member's verses are. The mention of a "1st anniversary song" in Jisung's verse is so personal. His focus on friends and the good times, compared with Chan's focus on his plans and Changbin's focus on finding his way, was both more uplifting and painful. I think the mention of "little Chris" and Santa naturally built up that powerful sentimentality. The DBZ and One Piece references are sweet too. That "Byungchan" clarification reminded me of the "ninjas" issue spoken about in P.A.C.E., and it's cool how Chan knows what's going on and isn't afraid to comment about it in his songs. I like how Changbin's lyrics sound like the topics Stray Kids's lyrics speak about, from the grueling hours spent practicing to fearing that he's not ready to grow up. I think Changbin ending a few of his lines with "-hae, yeah" was a surprisingly dynamic use of repetition. Although the lyrics are about reaching the finish line, the end of his verse beautifully suggests that this road goes on. I really enjoyed the references to older songs like Runner's High and Broken Compass. You can really feel the difference between the contexts of these references. Runner's High never ends; now that they're older and more jaded, they need to work harder to maintain it. Captain Chan's job isn't done; he's about to clear the first stage. The growth and progress of this group is so evident through these lyrics. You can also hear it in their sounds. The beat gets more full and sophisticated with each album. The instrumental is especially impressive in this song: the trumpet sounds are reminiscent of the blaring brass in an arena before a race, the choral wails are haunting, and the old school instrumental (i.e. the piano during Changbin's verse) is a nice play on our nostalgia. Thank you for a wonderful year and many more to come. :)

He wanted to clear up the issue that his name isn't Byungchan but just Chan. There was some confusion as to Byungchan being his full name but he always referred to himself as Chan (or his English name Chris) His mom also just calls him Chan; so I don't think Byungchan is correct

im actually so mad at myself for not stanning these boys sooner. I only started to listen to skz after their 2020 mama performance. i became a Stay in January 2021 and I seriously fell so hard for them. I've literally never seen a group with such chemistry and willpower. I am very proud of all of them, and specially proud of Chris. I am so thankful that he endured so much to be where he is today. this song makes me cry sm even though im new to the fandom. just knowing their history makes me be so proud of them. I am so thankful for their incredible music, and for the love these boys are bringing for so many people. Hello! :) I started to listen to skz shortly after their debut, which is a long time already. I am so thankful for you, Chris. Because you were going for your dream, and with that you managed to change more than one life. I was 13 when I heard your songs, and I struggled a lot at that time. Who knows what would happen if you never tried to go after your dream. I have met one of my first love, friends and sense of hope because of skz and STAYs. I found one of my old school projects about "Who is the person that inspires you the most?", everyone put their parents, siblings, other.. but my mini me? He put You. When I read it, I will be honest, I shed a tear or two (maybe because of my broken english back then, haha) because I have written: "Christopher put a sense into my life, he put hope into each member of the group and into each fan." You all made me want to do music, art, poetry. To pour all of my emotions into something beautiful. I was always the weird kid who struggled to make friends, to be happy, to be comfortable in my own skin but yet I am here, an adult, who is ending his highschool years and preparing for university. I did not leave this Earth and I did not lose hope when everything was black and white. With beautiful memories of my teen years when me and bunch of my old friends (who I've met because they were STAYs) acting like kids and for a brief moment, enjoying our youth while dancing and (horribly) singing songs from your new comebacks. Getting excited whenever one of us bought a new album and opened it with others, trying to guess who would pull who's photocard. You are even making impact on my mom, she is (her own words) the biggest fan of you guys, because she is blasting God's Menu (I gave her the CDs from the albums) every morning in her car, screaming 'Cooking like a chef...' When I was in my metal phase, she went to me and said: Stray Kids are having comeback, look! And we both watched the new music video. Getting excited like a kids. Thank you so much for being the light that lessens the shadows for so many," This could not be truer, and it's a perfect phrase for SKz. Skz, especially 3Racha has ment so much to since before they debuted. They helped me get out of such a dark place. I'm so happy that I found this group when I did, because at that point it was so bad that I felt like everyone would be happy without me here. I still have some of those thought, but thanks to Stray Kids those thoughts don't control me anymore. To this day, I still turn to this group when those thoughts overwhelm me. I graduate this year (Class of 2024. Yay!). I've been dreading it, because I'm terrified of what will happen once I leave my high school. And honestly. I'm surprised that I'm here for it. I didn't even think I'd be here for high school. If not for 3Racha, and the rest of SKz I doubt I would've given into my dark thoughts. They are the reason I have fought for my dream. Fighting everyone around me saying that I'm not good enough. As well as myself thinking I'll never make it. They gave me support when my family didn’t. So that being said.
