Began hearing weird sounds when the AC is turned on in my 98 4runner. I'm hoping it's just the pulley-belt tensioner. Thanks for posting this video.

Thank you for this video. I have a mysterious leak, and it appears to be from the A/C compressor, it is all around it (and is not the valve cover gaskets or power steering pump). Question-could you have added the oil when you had the compressor out? Sorry if that’s a stupid question. Just slowly putting a plan together to fix my system.

yes i added the oil in my garage and the taped the line ports with masking tape at 1:58 . I accidentally spun the pulley and it created pressure and allowed it to leak. If you have the compressor out, use the shipping cap instead of what i did. add oil, then screw the shipping cap which will allow the oil to not leak no matter if you spin the pulley. after you bolt the compressor to the engine bracket, remove the shipping cap and install the cover on the compressor that allows you to connect to the high and low pressure lines that i show removing at 1:23
