Hello. I have been trying to send my trezor address to the rabby wallet. But when I enter the passphrase or click on the standard option, it shows me a bunch of addresses that are not mine. What I assume is that at some point I put a passphrase into Trezor which I don't remember. I wanted to ask you if you could reset the Trezor from origin, which would involve setting a new passphrase, etc. Wouldn't that be an option too? Or is there some other simpler option since this video was 5 years ago, there will be a better way updated to today
@CryptoGuide15 күн бұрын
Your only option is to recover the BIP39 passphrase (If you used one, which is easy to do with Trezor as it prompts you for one by default). Nothing has changed since this video was made and it is all still current. (With the exception of PyOpenCL being installed via pip now, so that has made things easier)
@abelcolongrullon762314 күн бұрын
@CryptoGuide Thanks for your response. The situation is that i never created a passphrase in the beginning, when i created the trezor account, just the pin and the security words that shows. So i have my funds in metamask and when im trying to find the same address in rabby wallet, that i have in metamask it doesn't show clicking the standard wallet, so then i try to create a passphrase to see if that way it would show the address, bud even like that i didn't. I don't know if just having an address with trezor and then sending the funds to that address will be a better way.

Hello @montanagoat13 did you get what you wanted?

It would depend on the recovery types. Basic seed typos are basically always recoverable, if it's a passphrase or wallet password then these succeed about half of the time. (As it depends on how good the guess is in the first place)

So what do you mean by Latin keys, do you mean a BIP39 language other than English (which BTCRecover should handle automatically) or a passphrase with Latin characters? (Which should also be handled just fine via tokenlists or passwordlists)

@@CryptoGuide Oh ok. I thought we should use devices that "have never connected to the internet" when doing recoveries.
@CryptoGuide Жыл бұрын
No, you want devices that will are offline before you enter the seed and will remain offline until either the recovery device is wiped or the funds are moved to a new wallet. (This is why using something like Ubuntu Live boot is the best option for most people) If you want the system offline the whole time then you can easily side-load Python modules, but that is beyond the scope of what is easy to support in a video.

@@CryptoGuide I got it installed on Windows, thank you! Unsure whether these are bugs or more likely user error but here you go: 1. Before installing PyOpenCL, the Full Test results are: Ran 617 tests using 12 processes. OK (passes=536, skips=81). After installing PyOpenCL, the test gets stuck at electrum28 and gives a long error line about an array needing to be 1 or something. If I uninstall PyOpenCL, the testing works and gives the results above. I can send you the exact error if you need/want it. I don't think I have a GPU but wanted to install PyOpenCL anyway to test it. Could that be the reason for the error? 2. Is the number of skips normal in my test results? Ultimately, I want to find the 25th word from a Ledger wallet, segwit addresses. Thanks again!
@CryptoGuide Жыл бұрын
The skips is just based on which modules you have installed, hardware, etc, so there is no normal... A BIP39 passphrase recovery is pretty basic as far as required functionality goes. Just generate a test wallet first and try it with that if you are unsure.
