How to turn Car Dynamo into 230v Generator

So basically an Alternator was converted to a PMG (permanent magnet generator) with no output voltage or frequency control . As the 9V battery voltage drops from running the motor the motor rpms will slow down reducing the output frequency and voltage (Volts per Hertz ) . The light bulbs being a resistive load aren't dependent on frequency like an AC motor or transformer would be. This is not some electrical break through as some posting seem to think .

I built a water reservoir to drive a turbine connected to a generator which drove a motor with a fan on it pointed at a wind turbine which directly operated a mechanical pump to lift the water back into the reservoir. The water went green and smelly after a while and mum made me chuck it in the bin. Good times.

If you put copper in the water it stays clean, strip electrical cable and use that wire, I put it in my water so I know first hand that it works

You should try to plugging the wire from the motor into the socket, so it can power its self up. If it don't start, just spin the belt, so it can start conducting.

Where can I buy those wonderful batteries? They are delivering at least 15 amps. I would only need a dozen of them to power my 50 ton log truck, and it looks like they should last for at least 6 months. Maybe I should do a video on it? ( Before the men in white coats take me back to the funny farm ). Might get one of those drive belts too. Good for a tow rope when the truck gets stuck in the mud. At 2:09. He should get some brake clean and get the sticky coating off those silver squares too. It must be really annoying to have them keep sticking to each other like that.

@@richardldziadek191 Dzień dobry Richard. I wrote 15, piętnaścienot, not 50 amps. Working on 300W. Divide by 9 volts to get 33.33 amps. That assumes 100% electrical and mechanical efficiency of conversion. At 230volts it's only 1.3 amps flowing through those bulbs to produce 300W. So if each 9V battery has the same internal resistance, divide 33.33 by 2, because they are wired in parallel, and you get 16.67 amps. I checked the numbers on my Polish calculator. Still came out the same. Once you factor in the losses from the belt drive, heat, friction, noise etc., that 16.67 would be around 25 amps. At 500 mAh per battery, how many seconds do you think they would last for?

Hello I have a question. I am trying to build this alternator but am having problems with the alternator.Here is what happened...when I took the rotor out,two contacts came up,I think they are called brushes.When I wanted to put the rotor back in,they blocked the process. I had to fix the brushes with a piece of tape to put it back in the old place.now I have a tape on the contacts and the generator does not work.how did you solve the problem?thanks for your answer

wait a minute. this must be some fake. Or why does the Alternator put out 220V ? That’s not possible , no matter how fast you spin it. The magnets don’t influence the voltage output. they only replace the initial current of the rotor windings. The alternator windings are made to produce 12V and high Amps. Unless you change the windings , there will always be around 12V output. please explain where i am wrong.

De continua y le pone una llave o un relé que cuando empiece a generar corriente pase para la continua tendría un generador perpetuo así que no sé si generaría esto sería un invento fabuloso

It is absolutely imposible for such a small engine to drive such alternator when it is really producing electricity !!! Besides that if you use an engine strong enough to drive such alternator it will produce from 12 to 20 V AC in the best case. If you want to get 220 V you have to use a step up transformator. In conclusion this video is a complete FAKE !!! To change the dynamo - from 12V to 230V, I belive in, but drive it with 2 9V batteries, even when they are in parallell (to get maximum current out of them) - I don't. --- I also think that "the direction" of the magnets - is important (North - South), something that - at least - should have been mentioned - on the film. --- What type of magnets you used - and how the orientation were - on the magnets (North - South) - should also have been shown. === Your ideas are good - as a foundation, so don't stop. These ideas - might .. one day - lead to something valuable.

Pure BS. Right now, I have an automotive alternator powered by a 3 Horse power gas engine that I built to provide around 300 Watts of DC power. Again, watch the belt drive on this video when the lamps are plugged in. The belt does not show any increase of power to the alternator. It's obvious that DC motor is not the source of the power for the light bulbs.
