It's like he just realized that everything he ever believed in has been a lie, meaningless, pointless. Or maybe he got home from his 9 to 5. Opened the door to his house, and found out his entire family was murdered. Just the look of, he just saw or realized the most gruesome thing ever. I will literally watch that guy freak out atleast a couple of times. Before I watch the rest of the video. Oh, this is band fantastic! I've been living under a bigger rock than I thought. This video is deep. One could question whether we are really more civilized or more well off than the natives of third world countries. These people live and die without every dealing with first world technology and problems. Yet we run around like drones, consumed by materialism, greed, and disregard for our fellow man. Are they happier or better off without all of our advancements, possibly.
@steveeagle64710 жыл бұрын
Yep, that is the entire premise of Baraka (as well as the "Qatsi" trilogy that preceeded it) - a movie that will linger in your head for months & years after viewing.
@marcjohn940410 жыл бұрын
I don't know, do you like this music? Living a 3rd world lifestyle, you would never hear this. This music wouldn't even exist if we'd remained tribal. I enjoy 1st world luxuries, even if we have large-scale government. Are we robotic? Not really. I think it's a huge overstatement. A lot of us go to work everyday, but even indigenous tribal folks work, there's still a leader who is essentially a smaller scale version of a government. In the end, I think a lot of people are just afraid of the future and tend to overreact to the changes. It doesn't mean that we should go about it blindly and expect everything to be great, but if your biggest problems are going to a job where you scan people's items and bag them, I'd say your life is probably pretty good. Especially if you can go home, log on to the internet, and download music like this for free.
@yaoguai845910 жыл бұрын
I feel like having a balance of both worlds is fundamentally important. Having a connection with nature, eating naturally and not being over stimulated are awesome but having running water, modern medicine, art, science, not worrying about being eaten by tigers on a daily basis and internet porn are all awesome too.
@domagojvrsaljko61617 жыл бұрын
Very clichéd comment. I would like to ask all edgy kids to come up with better criticism of our ''disgusting, brainwashed, robotic'' 1st world, and not to just copy and repeat the same thoughts over and over again. Comments like: ''Omg those tribesmen don't have fucking cellphones, they are probably a lot happier than us and they have so little omg'' is overused, boring and predictable. Please stop, it's nothing deep, it's nothing special. Materialism, greed and disregard for our fellow man existed before, exists now and will exist in the future and it is present in every form and in every type of society, regardless of its technological achievements. Being poorer and less technologically advanced doesn't make the tribes in africa superior to anyone in terms of humaneness or general goodness, nor it necessarily makes them any happier. It's a myth and depends on an individual.
@adaisychain4azathoth7 жыл бұрын
Domagoj Vrsaljko farther we stray from humanity, the more we become machine. it's just the truth, generally, but if you're a tribesman/tribeswoman you don't even know about let alone give a shit about technological advancements so you're right about it depending on an individual.
