ZELENA THREATENS TO KILL HENRY IF HOOK - WHOSE LIPS HAVE BEEN CURSED - DOESN'T KISS EMMA AND DRAIN AWAY HER MAGICAL POWERS, AND IN THE FAIRY TALE LAND OF THE PAST, SNOW AND CHARMING GO IN SEARCH OF GOOD WITCH GLINDA TO HELP THEM DEFEAT ZELENA, ON ABC'S "ONCE UPON A TIME"
"A Curious Thing" - Zelena threatens to kill Henry if Hook - whose lips have been cursed by the Wicked Witch -- doesn't proceed with kissing Emma, which will drain all of her magical powers away, and things begin to heat up between Regina and Robin Hood. Meanwhile, back in the Fairy Tale Land that was during the past year, Snow and Charming go in search of Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, to see if she can help them defeat Zelena, and the curse that will ultimately send the Fairy Tale characters back to Storybrooke is cast -- but from an unlikely source, on "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, APRIL 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Hook can't catch a break. First Zelena cursed his lips now Snowing is accusing him of lying about the memory potion. I know that Hook is considered a villain but he has done everything in his power to help Emma. Snowing has forgiven Regina and she put them through hell. Regina's the reason they were separated as a family for 28 years. Yet they have given her a chance to redeem herself but with Hook they're suspicious of him the instance their memories are restored. David accused Hook of getting them lost in Neverland when he refused to little to Hook's directions. Now Snowing is accusing him of lying because they didn't send the memory potion. Hook told them he assumed the potion came from them. I get that Emma's starting to doubt Hook because he didn't tell her when Zelena cursed his lips. She has every right to be upset I just wish she tried to understand his side a little bit more. He looked so hurt when Emma said she couldn't trust him. Poor Captain Swan

One last thing. Look at Emma’s face when Hook is insisting he wasn’t lying about the note. I think her superpower is kicking in. I think she knows he’s not lying. That’s got to bode well for them (well, that and the scenes from next week’s promo where Hook is fighting right along side every one again. And the other one where Hook falls to the ground and Emma seems to be all kinds of not alright with it)

Emma: I get Emma’s reaction, I really do. The adrenaline is probably still pumping after another battle with flying monkeys and the almost murder of her son. I think she’s reacting as well. Remember, she knows Hook’s been hiding something from her about the lost year. She just found out he was also hiding the whole curse on his lips thing from her-something that put her son directly in danger. She doesn’t know all the details about the curse, about Henry trying to run away anyway, about Hook being kidnapped and Henry’s life directly being threatened, about how Hook got back to the Land Without Magic, about what happened to the Jolly Roger (for that matter, we don’t know the answers to the last two yet. Given that they’re hiding it from us for a big reveal in the last few episodes, I betting it’s going to be amazing!). Plus, good intentions or not, Hook just made a decision for her about her son! All her life people have been making decisions for her; she thought Hook was different. Add to that, the stupid Wicked Witch is a master manipulator and obviously tried to manipulate the situation to make Hook look the worst he possibly could look…and Emma’s already sky high walls and trust issues, I get where she’s coming from. BUT, saying she can no longer trust Hook is taking it a step to far. Come on Emma! He’s done nothing but prove himself to you over and over and over again! You acknowledge he feels like he has no other options; context matters. Can’t you give the poor pirate the tiniest benefit of the doubt? One thing that makes me think Emma is merely reacting and saying things she may not completely mean is that she calls him Killian. There is no longer any reason for her to have to call him Killian since Henry has his memories back (and he’s not there at the time anyway). She’s questioning his motives and his actions; it would be the most natural thing in the world for her to call him Hook (aka the villainous pirate who would do anything, partner up with anyone to advance his own interests), but she doesn’t she calls him Killian. She wants to believe him. She wants to trust him. I wonder if her saying “how can I [trust you]” is more of “please, give me a reason. I want to trust you” than “you’ve completely lost my trust, and you’ll probably never get it back.”

A line of your comment made me think... Since almost the first episode after the winter break, I've been convinced that Hook gave up the Jolly Roger as payment to get back to Emma.. but suddenly I started doubting it.. I mean, many of us already think that's the price he had to pay, but seeing how the writers keep surprinsing us, wouldn't it be too predictable? I have the feeling that it'll be more complicated than that.. Or at least, if it's "only" that, the story would be told in such an amazing way that we will be all screaming / jumping at our screens! (I'm afraid I might be expecting too much, but so far the writers haven't let me down!)

Yeah, Wendy Jones, I'm not sure where the writers are going either. (After the last few weeks, I'm guessing I'll never be able to predict them again!), but I'm pretty sure that both the story of the Jolly Roger and the story of how Hook got back to the LWM will be big. I mean, they keep referencing secrets about what happened in the past year. Yes, some of Hook's reluctance to discuss it is probably due to his shame over what he did to Eric and Ariel, but that episode only covered a few months at most. What happened after that? I think it's significant that they specifically mentioned that the Jolly Roger wasn't in Storybrooke in 3x17. Us, the viewers are supposed to wonder...well, if you got your ship back from Blackbeard, where is she now? I also think it's significant that in Sunday's episode, Regina made a definite point of telling the Charmings that all communication between the two realms was completely cut and the ONLY way to get back to the LWM is through another dark curse. We as the viewers are supposed to think "wait...then how did Hook get back?" I'm also curious about Hook's crew. Smee didn't know what happened in the missing year, so I assume he got swept up in the curse. Yet Hook DID have his memories. He only had one vial of memory potion (Zelena only left Rumple enough for himself), and he gave it to Emma, so it wasn't that he took memory potion before the curse hit and then remembered he needed to get back to Emma. So, basically, yeah. I'm just looking forward to the next few episodes!

Very good point Jennifer! Indeed, I'm tremendously curious about HOW Hook kept his memories... After watching this episode, we could assume that the curse was already cast when Zelena offered Rumple the memory potion (she says "the curse is coming")... which means that Neal sent his message giving Hook just very little reaction time. Then, how did he escape? I mean, was he on the Jolly Roger with his crew, and he just abandoned everyone to their fate, being him the only one crossing realms and escaping the curse? Or was he already on his own trying to find Emma? Either way, there must be something BIG missing... Hook can't summon magic himself, therefore someone must have helped him or proposed him pay the price (according to our theories, the Jolly Roger) to get back to Emma.. WHO could that person be? (maybe Tink?) Nevertheless, most probb nothing will happen as we expect! lol Can't wait till next Sunday!!

Wendy Jones after watching 3x17 I was under the impression Hook had already been looking for Emma but it only became apparent to me especially after the whole Ariel storyline .... I took that story as it was meant to be foreshadowing or the catalyst as if to say that was what propelled him to search Emma out especially after seeing Ariel's determination to find her true love , maybe it spurred hook on to find his Emma, and once he realized he couldn't lie to himself anymore about the man he had become since being with Emma ... that no matter how much he tried he just wasn't the pirate he used to be anymore .. that life no longer has sway over his heart , that the sea no longer was is his home , that he had come to realize his home was and is With Emma and Henry , that he would do anything to get back to them... because he had finally found the place he belongs ...

The Charmings: Okay, on the one hand, the last memory they have of him in the EF is him riding away saying he tried the hero thing and it didn’t take. They’re often not the greatest at context clues, and for some reason their default position is to assume he has nefarious intentions. Their reaction upsets me the most. Whatever happened in the past year, however he got back, he did come back. Regardless of how he got the message, he more or less immediately followed it. He managed to get back to the LWM, find Emma, restore her memories, bring her and Henry back, and he’s done nothing but try to help him since they’ve been back. If the Charmings can give Regina (who really started this whole mess in the first place with the original dark curse) the benefit of the doubt and they now trust her, can they not do the same for a man who obviously loves their daughter to distraction? Badly done, Charmings. Badly done! The Charmings obviously have rather poor memories. Hook didn’t lie about who sent him the note. In 3x13 when they were sitting around the parlor talking about how Hook knew to go get Emma, Hook told them a bird brought him a note telling him to find Emma and bring her back. He said he didn’t know who sent it as it wasn’t signed (btw, I know Neal was in a hurry, and in a rather bad way and everything, but was he really incapable of signing his name? It’s just four letters for heaven’s sake!). He said he assumed the Charmings sent it. Obviously his assumption was wrong. But putting forth an assumption when all reasonable facts seem to lead to it, and then having that assumption proved wrong is NOT lying!

I completely agree with you. I wished the Charmings would have saved the Hook hate for a different episode because I really was enjoying this one. It showed everything I like about them as a couple, but they had to go and ruin it with putting their 2 cents in about Hook. I wonder if the writers forget what they've set up because if he never said that they for a fact sent him that note, how can they be that angry? If Hook turns out to be Emma's true love, how will they deal with it?

Yeah. I don't get the level of anger they showed toward Hook here. Even if he had lied about who sent the note (which of course he didn't), why get so angry about it? Suspicious about what he's hiding? Okay. Anger, not so much. Regardless of HOW he found out they needed Emma, he immediately did what they needed done. He found her and he brought her back. If he hadn't, Regina wouldn't have kissed Henry, the curse wouldn't have been broken, and they wouldn't have even known that they needed to get Emma to defeat Zelena. Who knows if they would have even found out what Zelena was planning if Emma hadn't been there.

She had only been doing that when Henry didn't know he was Captain Hook, but now that Henry remembers, she STILL called him Killian!!! THIS IS SPECTACULAR!!!

I AM HIGHLY IRRITATED BY Snow and Charming , EMMA IS JUST EMMA .. a Tough Cookie and a Bitch most of the time to dearest Killian that is just who she is and I am fine with that because I know if their is anyone who can break Emma down and get her to love again its Killian who wont give up till he has claimed her heart and who is forcing her to feel on a profound level what she hasn't felt in years , its truly a testament to him his devotion and tenacity when it comes to winning Emma .. Her guardedness when it comes to her heart after Neal I don't blame her for being that way or having these thick walls up protecting her heart , but her trust in hook will be restored most likely due to Henry ... . Hook: I love Hook. Anyone who’s read one of my ridiculously long comments to these videos knows that. BUT it must be said that his plan to send Henry to New York on a boat with only Smee as protection…not even TELLING Emma what was going on was both stupid and very very wrong. I know his heart’s in the right place; I know he was just trying to do whatever he possibly could to protect the boy he’s come to love, but this was a profoundly bad idea. Hook often tends to think with his heart and his emotions rather than his head, particularly when those he loves are threatened/hurt/killed. In this instance, I think he just REACTED to the threat without thinking things through.

Maria Jay All Hook had to do was give Emma a call about what he was doing. He wouldn't have had to say anything about the spell. Emma probably would have agreed with his plan if he would have only told her about it. She's trusted him with Henry a few times already. The problem is that he made a decision for her about her son without consulting her. That's not cool at all. She's had far too many people making decisions for her behind her back. Obviously his intentions were good and Emma will recognize that once she's calmed down from her initial reaction to his secrets.

I understand what you're saying. Sometimes it seems like Emma is allowed to keep secrets from people, but she expects everyone to be completely honest with her. She seems to have a bit of a double standard. Hopefully everything gets cleared up by the end of this season.

Maria Jay Are you talking about her secret from Henry? As a parent we sometimes have to make a decision even if it goes against a child's wishes. It doesn't always make it right but that's part of a parents job. Doing what we think is best. In Emma's defense, the others were in agreement with her. They tried to make a memory potion but Regina couldn't do it. They had no other options until they thought of the Story Book. Emma went with it and I think Henry's reaction speaks volumes that he doesn't blame Emma for her actions. Or are you talking about another secret?

It just seems like Emma wants everyone to be transparent, but she gets to have her walls up, I don't know. I kind of feel like with Henry she is right to protect him as a parent, I just think if her parents were hiding her whole life she would want to know. Even though she was looking for a potion, she really didn't want to find it. She couldn't see the fairytale book because she would rather him keep the fake memories (after the whole Neverland thing, I don't blame her though). She doesn't have to tell him everything, it just that the way Emma is with everyone, trying to turn herself into a lie detector, it seems like she wants others to reveal themselves to her while she gets to hold back (unless they happen to have the same skill, lol).

Seriously if anybody needs to come to Hooks defense about that situation and why henry was with hook in the first place it should be Henry! I need for Henry to be like " Will you all just stop attacking hook seriously mom cut him some slack after everything he has done for both of us listen hook was only trying to help me out prior to me getting my memories back all I wanted was to get back to my life in New York, I was going to run away but then hook found me and I told him how I was going to take the bug to a bus station and then he thought of a better way to get me back to New York . " Thus why in Next weeks episode hook is once again with everyone due to Henry's confession

Jennifer Duquaine I just love how Hook has become a paternal father figure for Henry and how he has embraced that role ...how Henry has come to really rely on Hook for that fatherly influence, and now cherishes that time he gets with him ... its heart warming to see considering the tragedy that befell neal. I remember watching this and I just kept feeling like if anyone would be able to get thru to Emma about Hook it will be Henry .... Because he basically is Emma's heart , her guiding light .. when it comes to getting her to trust her instincts apart from her power .

Because Emma clearly states that the cost of casting is "the heart of thing you love most" and I get that Snowing love each other but shouldn't Emma be the thing each of them loves the most? I did feel sorry for hook in this episode hes trying to save Emma's family more importantly her son the best he can and emma isn't giving him a honest chance to explain why he had no choice but to try and send harry away to keep him safe he loves her so much that he's willing to do anything to keep emma and her family safe hook should of just held his hands up and told them if this is what I get for helping you all out then I am sorry but I am out and then just walked away

How dense can Emma be? When she said "The cost of the curse is the heart of the thing you love most. If one of you cast the curse how are you both still alive?" she's not thinking it through. They don't love each other the most, they love her. They shouldn't have been able to cast the curse at all because they would have needed her heart.
