I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

Thank you for showing us in detail how you did this! Personally, I most appreciate when folks do talk about what went wrong (especially handling power tools) and how to avoid it and fix things up (short rods). There’s too many guys out there thinking “nah, can’t happen to me” - and eventually, they loose a finger...

Amazing work, love the details in how you accomplished this and that and you always include previous builds of templates, jigs, etc. for us to view 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽 FYI: I think what adore the most about you is the fact you don’t allow fear to rule whether you accomplish a particular “Scary” task or not ;)

Pretty nice watching someone make a not entirely small piece of cool furniture with a limited selection of tools - as a furniture maker apprentice you get used to use specific large machines and kind of forget that smaller and cheaper tools can be used. I'm so used to making templates on a massive behemoth of a bandsaw and perfecting the shape with a rather substantial belt sander - the jigsaw and the small belt sander seem to work just as well - good to have in mind when contemplating a possible future workshop :)

Really nice project, Tamar. One thing some of the complainers forget (or perhaps don't know) about pocket holes, is that the unsightly pockets can be plugged. If done right, they _almost_ disappear, especially in a painted project.

You are incredibly adaptive with your use of jigs and I really like your note to “use what you’ve got”. I’m just getting started in woodworking, and I already feel like I’ve bought half a big box store worth of tools, but don’t have a fraction of what’s needed for some projects. Thanks for showing how versatile the jigsaw and router combo is.

Beautiful design, Tamar! What a Great project! I love how you apply your intuition to to solve 'challenges' in assembly and glue ups. I ALWAYS enjoy watching your vid's! Johnathan Katz Moses oftentimes gives you a shout-out on his vids. You should do a collaborative vid together with him in the future.

Using 2 clamps together..... wow! Never thought of that, thanks Tamar!
@plssmellmycheese
@plssmellmycheese 4 жыл бұрын
U can also just use one clamp and a piece of wood with a block screwed to each end, on opposite sides...one hooks onto the piece to be clamped, the other is hooked on the clamp... the other end of the clamp is on the other end of the piece, as u would normally do. The piece of wood extension can be any length, just move the blocks wherever they are needed for a particular clamp up.😀

Another great project Tamar! I really like the contrast of the wood and metal. Very nice! I gotta say, my “maker-envy” flares up every time you “show off” your powered router lift LOL 😂. One of these days I’m gonna have to do something about that.... Do you happen to know if that system can be fitted to an Incra Router Lift?
