**Usual Caraway care and quality, a great little sauce pan, still going to chip**
TL/DR: Caraway makes a really popular line of cookware, which has a large and medium frying pan. Now you can add this small sauce pan in the same color as your other set. Read the review for why I don't give this five stars.
Pros:
o Small sauce pan might be just what you need
o Lid with vent, lid has the same external cladding color
o Looks great
o Ceramic cooking surface is really the best of all non-stick surfaces
Cons:
o Pricey
o Questions about the durability of the external surfaces
I have the Caraway cookware set in the Percotta color, and was really excited to see that Caraway added a small fry pan and sauce pan that I could buy a la carte. They help round out the set, giving me some options.
Because this is exactly the same material used in the cookware set, I can give an advance review and say that there is a lot to love about this pan. The non-stick surface really does the job, and you don't have any of those suspicious chemicals making it happen - just good old ceramic.
My medium frying pan from the cookware set, which gets used multiple times a day, shows a fair amount of chipping in the Perracotta surface. Because this cookware is so dear to us, it gets treated like royalty - nobody is flinging it around the kitchen, and in fact I wash it separately and dry it immediately, not even putting it in the dish rack with my other dishes.
Even with that TLC, the external surfaces have lots of small chips. None of them show even the slightest damage to the metal underneath, this is simply the external surface coming off with minor incidental contact with the range, other pots and pans, whatever. It is not going to affect the operation of the cookware in the slightest, but with cookware of this quality it is kind of big deal. Watch the video review to get a peek at what I'm talking about.
