**NOTES & CORRECTIONS** - Arylus pointed out that the line from A Drunkard's Tale, "what you call wine, we call the abyss" isn't quite so literal. Instead of calling out the abyss directly, it uses 渊源 (yuanyuan) which means Origin vs 深渊 (shenyuan) which is used for the Abyss. So this is complicated, and I'm not really qualified to comment on intention of meaning here, but it doesn't *really* change the meaning too much. Hopefully someone with a deeper understanding of the linguistics here can add some clarity. From my understanding though, the "origin" in this case is like the "nothingness of the void" which I think still fits with our current concept of the abyss, and it would imply that the stuff inside of the abyss is "source material." I'll update this note if/when I can get a better/clearer explanation.

So as it turns out, after watching this I wound up looking through the details and in More about Arlecchino: 5 it talks about Pierro being surprised that the bloodline of the crimson moon dynasty still exists. So we all were not crazy for thinking she is related to khaenri'ah before her release, which also would mean the hilichurl theory is very much possible since she would also be afflicted with the curse of the wilderness.

That's more likely than you think. Assuming the theory that four of the dragon sovereigns are representations of the 4 auspicious beasts from eastern myth, the auspicious beast of the north is a black tortoise, associated with winter and water, meaning he's likely the dragon sovereign of Cryo and can be found somewhere in Sneznheya. This means that the Black Tortoise is a somewhat end-game sovereign that will show up right before the final chapter, likely after the Tsaritsa has been dealt with and we begin expanding the region more and more. As a result, it's the perfect time to combine local region lore with foreshadowing for the next region, meaning Black Tortoise Sustainer is a perfectly valid possibility.

@@IterateTBOMS There isn't a throne. There are _three_ thrones. Which I don't know about anyone else, but that puts me in mind of the god-kings of Sumeru. Deshret, Nabu Malikata and Rukkhadevata. So why is there the same symbolism being used in this random boss arena in Fontaine? During the course of writing this comment, I've started to think that maybe the idea of three ruling gods is repeated across all nations. Mondstadt has Decarabian, Andrius and Barbatos. Though Barbatos wasn't a god at the time, so if you don't like that, you can replace him with Istaroth. Liyue has Morax and Guizhong - potentially the third could be the god of Chenyu Vale, if you don't subscribe to the theory of her being Guizhong. Inazuma, as in most things, is a huge ??? Sumeru has the triumvirate we know, no need to rehash that. And Fontaine only has Egeria and Remus that we know of.

7:37 I’m sure a lot of other people noticed the similarities between Genshin and Star rail already but I thought I would point out how similar the stories are if we are going based on this theory. I mean I have always thought that the travellers where trailblazers in the past before they entered Tayvat. I also can’t help but think that the planet behind the train in the intro to Honkai Star rail is actually Teyvat. I mean there are symbols on the planet that look pretty similar to some of the symbols in genshin also it kinda makes no sense just to have a random planet behind the train..usually everything is intentional with games like this. They already connected Honkai impact 3rd with Star rail so it wouldn’t surprise me if they connected Genshin too.(sorry if this made no since lol)

The concept of descenders and the changes made in each cycle parallels the 7 Karma Phala arc, which matches a lot. The hint of the system in place to maintain Teyvat is akin to Sa's system, to keep the world as it is, though it appears the functions to maintain the heavenly principals were lost/malfunctioning to some extent. The layers of Teyvat; the firmament that keep it in place, the celestial, human, and abyss realm matches the system of Mars bubble universes. Even the flipping of the layers occurs in part 2 story, which sometimes brought catastrophic consequences. The celestial nails that restrain the forbidden knowledge on the tainted leylines, but at the cost of nearby civilizations destruction, parallels the Anchor of Apocalypse (ether anchors) functions to keep the bubble universes from dissolving.

I honestly wished this videos were longer. It feels like there are a lot of cuts and mental shortcuts to make the video more compact, but in a theory this big (and most of them are) I think it is a detriment to the depth and understanding while watching it. For some time, it has felt impossible for me to follow these videos even though the theories are super good, and I suspect that is the reason. I'd rather hear you explain in detail all of your points, and references, to paint a whole picture. Like how you once used to describe the entire opera genshin was driving inspiration from, and that allowed the viewer to paint a picture that you had in mind while connecting the dots. You payved a way for us to connect the dots instead of showing that there is a connection, and although the difference was subtle it lead to a better understanding of mine of your videos. And yes that would mean the videos would be longer, but I honestly think that people who watch this channel are invested either way. And it would maybe make making the script for the videos easier. I know I can research all of it on my own, and maybe I will. You mentioned that you had a lot more to this theory and it was hard to summerize all your thoughts, and I suggest that maybe you don't? Like yes please summerize but also don't cut away from the thought process and the learning of all the sources and all the details that lead you to your conclusion. I think all of that is super interesting in a video and I would rather watch an hour long video containing your whole thought porcess. I still loved it tho and thanks for connecting the craziest dots for us that still make sense.

One problem in this video is that primordial one was the first descender who defeated the dragons and built his kingdom way before the 6000 year old cataclysm The outlander that married the seelie is supposed to be the second descender and they fought alongside the primodial one against the the cataclysm (source- nevelutte lore )which everyone suspects was the dragon ling nebolong who returned to take revenge with aybss powers (apep quest of nahida ) We belive he became the third descender because of being corrupted by abyss

im not fully through the video yet but i just had to mention, there was an article a while back by some scientists that theorised that Venus may have undergone global warming in a similar vein to earth, just many years before earth started. additionally (spoiler warning for Honkai Impact 3rd) the planet Venus was once a planet with humans until it got destroyed, leaving only one survivor who later went on to become so powerful she would nearly rival the power of Finality. weird how all the hoyoverse games are kinda the same ideas just muddled around

Remus and Deshret had the same idea. Become descenders and defy fate through collective consciousness. And they’re probably not the only ones who do this. There will probably be more collective consciousness ideas that show up in future genshin patches. You sort of said this in the Narzissenkreuz questline explanation. And Narzissenkreuz says this himself. It seems like everyone who has figured out “Fate” and the truth behind the Primordial one taking over teyvat is now trying to defy fate by becoming a descender through collective consciousness.

And the "when you face a force enough to destroyed one, or perhaps even to two worlds" sound a lot like to what happened to Izumo and Takamagahara, both worlds who where slowly started to sink into the "black great sun" (one of IX shadow) but were destroyed by Acheron.

Visually Arlecchino has a ton of angel motifs, too. First impression looking at her is of feathers, from her hair to the way her clothing is cut. And then you notice her buttons on her jacket look like eyes, and biblical descriptions of angels sometimes suggest they are covered in eyes. That's before we even get to the 6 wings. As to the two worlds, i noticed Minsleif has a video where they point out that the Spiral Abyss has an Abyss Corridor, which connects worlds. Now, I'm taking that observation in a different direction here. Let's go back to the Kabbalist tree of life. The abyss, Da'ath, is a gap between the upper and lower Sephirot. But in Kabbalist theory, there isn't just one tree of life, there are *four worlds* (no really, that's what they're called), each with its own tree of life. And Keter in the lower world is Malkuth in the upper world at each transition. The abyss is thus a corridor between the lower world and the upper world, through which you have to pass to reach Keter/Malkuth of the new world. (And we of course have a Kabbalist tree of life in Rene's notebook as a 'map' of the structure of Teyvat). So, we don't necessarily need 'space' in the modern sense. There could have been a 'war in heaven' (the world above), and Phanes fled to the lower world across the abyss. (Middle Platonism may also have some interesting influences here, with its theory of spheres - Eden was thought to be located in the sphere of the moon, the lowest heaven, and thus earth was another, lower, world, in a sense).

I should read the new books more in details. I've been tired lately, so even when I tried reading Perinheri, it wouldn't really stick. For some reason though, it made me think of "The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs" and "The Devil and his Grandmother"... there's an old Brothers Grimm tale feel to it. I don't know much about Catholic texts or angels, nephilim and stuff but the first civilization being a first attempt for human evolution via mixed blood is a really interesting idea! I've had different ideas, some influenced from watching your videos, some from other lore ideas I've found, and of course, some from things I felt made sense. I'd like to share some here. First, there's a line in Albedo's quest that's really interesting if we're gonna talk about evolution : "If it turned out that (‍Traveler) did have a phylogenetic relationship with this world... Now that really would be something, wouldn't it?" I had to look up what phylogenetic meant, but it's "relating to the evolutionary development and diversification of a species or group of organisms". To me, it sounded like foreshadowing that the Traveler is an evolved form of the humans of Teyvat. And since a powerful Will has been a very big thing in the lore lately, I feel like that's the specific aspect of them that is evolved. So I had been thinking about what you said with the Dragon/Spirit Veins.... what if the Ley Lines are the artificial equivalent? We know that the elements in Teyvat are a milder version and Visions help humans withstand elemental power. Visoins holders being called allogene always made me want to divide the word into allo- and -gene. Then, aren't Visions bearers humans with another gene? Isn't that litteraly an proof they're a step toward evolution...? If the Primordial One found Teyvat not hospitable to humans, like you said, it's possible they tried different things for humans to adapt and survive. I hadn't thought about your theory, but the Ley Lines being created to guide humans until they gain a stronger Will and can manipulate the elements, and eventually, resist the raw power of the Spirit Veins is what I've had in mind. As for the Crimson Moon, my thought process went kinda similarly, but I got fixated on the similarities found with the Raiden Shogun (there's a red eye on its boss design, on it's back) and how many thought the statue was the bodhisattva Kannon. With the eyes and the hands and the cleansing... I though Arlecchino's six "arms" were referencing the Six Guanyin version of Kannon. Also, on Arlecchino's hands, there are the markings of red crosses. If we link that to her eyes having red cross too, isn't it also similar to the designs like the Raiden Shogun boss, but also Zhongli's geo hands in that cutscene or Neuvillette...? Isn't there a special meaning to an eye in the middle of a palm...? I was kinda stuck there after that, but I felt like if there are so many links, doesn't that mean that Ei knows that Moon Sister? There's something vague mentioned in one of her story. It sounds like she saw something weird during the Cataclysm. But maybe she saw the Crimson Moon and recognized that it was the corpse of a Moon Sister? I've been wondering if it could be the same as a dead god remains then... Because the muddle mind kings or Ei suddenly erecting a statue made me think of the effect of the Tatarigami on Washizu, the chief of Higi Village that started to sit next to a shrine... Maybe the Crimson Moon, as a dead god remain, spread a curse similar to the Tatarigami? Chlothar said "no more red sky" to Caribert, as if it's something they had to deal with for a long time. Not just when it was the cataclysm. Kheanri'ah was in a strange place, I wonder if two different realms overlap there? Maybe the Crimson Moon and the Eclipse fought over which one could be in the "good" realm? I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense, but think of the Remuria world quest, where the past existed along the present. I was thinking of something similar. I think that's all the idea I had. Now, after watching your video, I wonder if the nephilim ended up in a strange "otherworld" realm, like that dead Moon Sister... Is it like those red hands in the Chasm event, where they try to leave it? Would the nephilim be able to die or not...? Alright, I think I went over all my ideas and questions. I'm not very good at putting them together, so this may be a little chaotic.... if you find anything in there interesting, that'd be cool. Thanks for your videos, they're always great watch.

I watched this while falling asleep and started theory crafting in my dreams about the mural of the domains. It's something I've been wanting to try to piece apart for a while. I thought the Triquetra was a symbol for Celestia, given it's place as the omni-element in the tcg. However, it probably means the 3 moon sisters, as it's 3 moons eclipsing each other. I think it strengthens Paimon's moon sister theory.

Ever since Arlecchino released, with all we learned about her, it’s like Genshin and the universe has been throwing my Genshin OC concept right in my face. My OC is a Fontainian historian and adventurer, and a descendant of the Khaenri’ahn civilization whose curse lay dormant because they got out quite a bit before the Cataclysm, but OC was cursed anyway because she discovered a chain with red crystals, a jeweled chain made of Durin’s cursed blood crystals crafted by the Abyss Order and abandoned on Dragonspine when the Traveler presumably came across them and put a stop to their activity. The latent Khaenri’ahn dna, the abyssal power, and the latent power still in Durin’s heart and blood mingle within OC and curse her to start turning into a dragon. She gets a Cryo vision when she commits to bearing the cursed chain so it can’t harm anyone else, and her vision halts her curse’s progression. Arlecchino is a cursed descendant of Khaenri’ah with ties to blood magic, she’s from Fontaine but not actually from Fontaine, they’re both even Polearm users! And then this week, solar flares are causing Aurora Borealis way further south than they usually are so they’re over my area, and one of Arlecchino’s dreams with Clervie was to see the Aurora Borealis.

Jokes aside, I really get Nasuverses Crimson Moon vibes from Genshin Crimson Moon. Am I only one? Nasus Crimson Moon was pretty much the embodiment of the moon summoned to Earth to cull the human population, but he chooses to try take Earth over himself and is eventually defeated. Incomplete copies of him are vampires of sort. During Arles fight when she freezes Traveler on the spot with her eyes and summons The Crimson Moon is also so reminiscent of Arcueids (who is kinda like Crimson Moons "heir") mystic eyes and ability to shape reality.

interestingly, abyss mages use an Enochian-based language when regenerating shields i think as well as when dancing (?) with hilichurls. and you can also see some enochian script around the weak points of ruin machines in the yellow protective runes (the glyphs are mirrored but it’s an enochian script) so that’s used in context with abyss and khaenriah!

Since what are the people of Fontaine, the France region, but non-human beings, Oceanids, the who were turned into humans by a God, Egeria.
