Hey lex, i just won my local pub league and with it a trip to vegas. Im a long time viewer and was wondering if you could switch it up on the videos and do a guide to vegas. Im talking more how best to get around. What time and places to play low/medium tournaments. When to enjoy the other things vegas has to offer. Where to go on break. Where to eat. Where to go for a smoke break to not miss too many hands. You are someone who s been there and done it and while it would be more of a guide than a vlog i think it would be really cool to see some of the logistics side of just being in vegas

Thanks for another great video. I have little doubt that you are far better cash game player than I will ever be. I am wondering how much coaching you have taken in tournament games? I am asking just because my own experience (have played all the way to WSOP Main event, is that your cards are important for roughly half of the pots if you play live tournaments with $500-$2,000 - almost the other half is chipping up with any two, playing your position a lot more aggresive. From your tournament videos it does not seem like you are that much playing position as you are playing the cards delt? (Don't get me wrong, cannot be done blindly, but it is a hugely important aspect of tournaments.

You Lex great vid! You don’t know me but I play at the Hardrock all the time, just like you but mainly tournaments. My advice is you should play the 100k guaranteed (first place be about 35k) or Big Slick tournament the HR run every month just to get the feel how tournaments are played. Tournaments and cash are different animals especially at that level. Next time I see you imma say wassup and chop it up with u!

Unfortunately Lex, you didn't raise your aces enough: with 3 people left to act, 3k is nowhere big enough- even with 1 caller, the button is probably coming along. I would probably bet at least 7-8k, hoping to just get 1 caller. The button still may call with 5/6 suited (exactly what I put him on when he raised in the video), esp. with a 250k stack. Tough to fold there, but I think I would've just flatted the raise at most. Poker is a tough bedfellow sometimes! Take care, great videos !

Lmfao these comments are priceless, let’s 5x our premiums so they won’t get cracked. Let’s have massive sizing tells preflop to give away our hand strength and play face up the rest of the hand. Whatever your opening size is, 2x, 2.5x etc, it should absolutely be the same size for every single hand in your range that you’re opening, whether it be 45s or AA
@logansmith4690
@logansmith4690 Жыл бұрын
@@richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781I agree with the sizing tells but a min raiser does usually seem bad imo. Atleast 2.5-3x but I’m sure in this hand he calls anyways with 56suited otb

@@logansmith4690 yea that’s fine, AA doesn’t always have to win, just navigate postflop correctly. Most of these troglodytes would rather just 5x pre and win the minimum just bc they’re afraid to actually play postflop and play real poker. I don’t get dealt premiums near enough to want to only win the blinds when I get them.

I agree, he should have called in that spot for just a bit more and tried to spike a set. If he misses, there's an actual decent chance the flip gets checked because the reraiser is now wondering what Lex might have. You just can't be folding premiums like 4th best starting hand in poker that late in a tournament. If you lose, you lose
@PeterPiperPickin
@PeterPiperPickin Жыл бұрын
What are you talking about lol. Regardless if guy is tight or just hasn’t played any hands because he’s card dead, if he’s halfway decent in a tournament setting he’s opening like 80-90% of hands once it’s folded to him otb against a dead SB and a BB lol. Flatting JJ there would be one of the worst options. Not saying I haven’t done it before for deception and a little bit of balance/experimentation but you giving one of those “why not just call JJ and try to flop a set if not fold” opinions like JJ is the same as 22-55 lol.

With how often they get cracked for me I tend to either be super aggressive like a 30BB preflop open jam or limp and then jam on the preflop raiser or limp and hope to flop a set or whatever and go from there, better to win a small pot than get cracked and believe it or not you will get called for a ridiculously large preflop all in bet more than you would think.

In position on a Q high board the preflop raiser is going to bet a lot of hands on that flop that totally miss. Then the turn bet was very small, plus having a club never hurts. It was like 800 into 3200+. He needs like 20% equity on the turn to make the call. Probably still a fold, but not really that insane. Lex just didn't bet his hand strong enough. Gatta go more than 1/4th pot with trips. He was clearly scared of the flush.

I would have been tilted too. There was only one move that you made that I would have played differently. When you got pocket jacks for the second time in a row, you said that the person that raised you was very tight. Yet, you decided to re-raise him instead of just calling and saying a flop. Who knows what the flop would’ve brought but now you’ll never know. Once he re-raised your re- raise, folding at that point was the right thing to do but I don’t think you needed to get to that point. Just my 2 cents.

Ok but now you have to be balanced. Now you have to 4x all the garbage you’re raising with to steal the blinds, and putting in way more chips all the times we have to raise/fold, also now when we’re raising sub optimal hands we only get called by a tighter range that we’re doing worse against. God forbid a big pair gets cracked, it’s called knowing how to play postflop poker and navigating various runouts correctly. Only clueless whoppers 4x their strong hands to “avoid getting cracked”

so i just watched your ace king of diamonds hand. my question is why not consider a fold in that hand preflop? in a cash game sure u shove and rebuy and move on but this is not a cash game. and lex that is the point! if u want to be best of best, u have to know the battle u r in. in a tournament, your chips are your ammo. dont make a play because its what the book says, u have to consider more variables when in a tournament. i know i am being critical but u seem to come to the table with this belief that u are the best player. if that is the case, prove it!! i bet when u went all in with the ace king u said to yourself if i lose i will just buy in again. cant think like that. wsop main event there are no rebuys. u should play as if this is all you got. no reenforcements.
