I had this same SAV in color, rims ,etc... I loved it, if memory serves me right my exhaust sounded the same as in the video. I had a 2002 330ci b4 getting my X5 4.8is and the X5 was faster and handled better, the all wheel drive was amazing! Mine was a 2006/7 and I much prefer it to later models as it was more analog no I-drive B.S. it had a cassette player hidden behind the NAV screen, $20 conversion kit from Walmart and I was able to play digital music from my Samsung phone. I ditched the dealership as soon as the warranty & service plan ended quoted me $7000 worth of work that suddenly needed to be done right when the warranty ran out. At Christmas time, merry Christmas to me!!! I found an independent BMW mechanic who did the required work plus other stuff for half the price, happy new year to me! As much as I loved my X5 it was costly to maintain I averaged it out over a year and it was $300 - 500 a month , so unless you can work on it yourself be prepared to find a great mechanic. I paid the price for several years as there was nothing like listening to that big V8 do it's thing I finally got rid of it when I got into an accident on the freeway, insurance company totalled it out and I actually received a larger pay out than I had expected. If u can service the car yourself or afford a private mechanic do it !

the 4.8is is a beast. and had major upgrades compared to any other X5 E53 in so many different ways, they were also the fastest factory 4x4 SUV in the world until the Porsche SUV just took that record. mine has the factory 315x35x20 rear and 275x40x20 front wheel. BMW also did a V12 proto type but didn't go ahead with it.

Great car. I have the 3.0 E53. Just slammed it on coilovers, new brakes, new stainless steal brake lines, re greasing axels, and in a couple weeks I'm getting wheel spacers for the rear to stick out the rear for a flush look. I also have a 08 E93, but I gotta admit the X5 is way more fun.

How to set the Air-Suspention so low? Special modification? I get a Failure Code if i set the High under 50 mm of normal Level... :(

what is modified? i have changed height with ebay diagnostic tool in couple of minutes, nothing needs to be modified, it has air suspension.

the 4.8 is has three height settings just by pushing a button. and yes you are right if you have airbag front and rear suspension and the right scanner you can adjust the height. what scanner do you have to be able to do it in couple minutes. can I have the brand name and model no. please. my BMW GT1 scanner wont do it that quick

Thank you for confirming my actions and adding unnecessary info about 3 position height option. hehe just kiddin, youre ok. 3 position height option will keep the car at top/lowest setting only up to 30/40kmh and than it return automatically to mid height. For permanent solution with separate height settings for each wheel/axle (and ALL other diagnostics) i used software and OBD2 cable from ebay. Go to ebay.co.uk and search for seller called diy_bmw_garage. they have only two items for sale, one is for models untill 2007 and other for models up to 2017.

That is a stock exhaust for the 4.8i. You might be thinking of the 4.4 I which has four round exhausts, or the 3.0 which has the two round exhausts

lol, I can say one, that your noise is worthless and 4.8 in USA is no turbo. :) In EU all bampers are the same what you have :D + Diesel have much better noise with poopcorn+chip 300hp. If you want, I can upload to you how working my e53 with LC+300Hp it's better noise and acceleration :))
