I have a 68 coupe, M-20 trans, base 327 with A/C, PS, PB with 34,000 miles on the original tires. It is also painted Corvette Bronze with the Tobacco interior. Carb has never been off the car. Yours is the first I've seen like mine. Picked it up for $4000 in 2022.

You're not serious...FIVE GRAND!!! You gave it away,Dude.'^* isn't the best year for Corvettes,but that one is an exception. original all the way down to the keys,it doesn't get much better...
@tomfaltash96342 жыл бұрын
You could not get a 327 in a 1968-1969 . The engine options were a 350, 427 -390 hp, 427 400 hp, 427 425hp, & the 427 430hp. Let’s not forget the aluminum head 427 l88 which was only rated at 430 hp, really was more like 500 hp
@thud9797 Жыл бұрын
Tom Faltash incorrect, the 350 did not debut in the Corvette until 69. For 68 the base engine was the 327/300hp with the 327/350hp optional.

Paid $6000 for my ‘68 3 years ago. Unfortunately she sat for 20 years and didn’t run when I got her. All original #s matching 327 coupe in spectacular shape otherwise. Finding a mechanic that knew vettes and after all the COVID crap was a pain but she’s finally getting some expert level love. Got a serious tuneup, carb rebuild, gas tank, brakes/rotors and a distributor upgrade. I get her back end of May hopefully, waiting for headers and straight pipes then appraisal. Should be worth three times what I’ve put into her. I can not wait!

All that Corvette requires is to have all the fluids changed, and a thorough cleaning. And perhaps a few small parts addressed, hose clamp, a belt, a light etc. And of coarse a fresh tank of gasoline. nice car.

That's an amazing deal for sure. It's base model, last year for the 327. Valve seals are likely going, that was oil burning out the exhaust on the startup, rich would have been black. The buyer should rebuild engine. It has power disk brakes on all four wheels. The 68 Corvette was the first American production car to offer 4 wheel power disk brakes standard. Doing a full restoration on this wouldn't pay off though anytime soon. If it was perfect show condition it would top out around $40k and to achieve that would cost more that. Having said that a driver restoration or resto mod would be well worth it.

The 1965 corvette was the first year for four wheel discs. 😊
@GlassTopRX76 жыл бұрын
True but 68, was the first year they were standard for an American car. It's was option in 65'.
@mafiaperformance6 жыл бұрын
GlassTopRX7 Wrong. Disc brakes were standard from 1965 onward. You could get a 64.15 dollar credit if you wanted drums on a 65, but that wasn’t offered in 66. Corvettes came with standard discs in 1965. That’s why a 64 is left undesirable. 63=split window, 64 drums, 65 first year Big Block with discs, 66=427, and 67 was the 435 first year tripower. I’m not wrong here. Sorry.
@GlassTopRX76 жыл бұрын
It's not wrong you are the one mistaken, the sales brochure for the 68' is quite clear about it, I just looked at it. I was was part of the whole C3 advertising campaign for the all new futuristic Corvette.

What a joker saying this car had Light emitting diodes, the indicators on the console for the tail lights were neither LED's nor light bulbs. I bought a 68 327/350 Vette back in 1977, I had wiring problems and while tracing wires noticed what looked like only one bigger wire going to the indicator lights, no ground I thought as they all were working fine. My father who was an electrical engineer and had worked at Texas instruments developing the Doppler Radar told me those are not wires, they are fiber optic cables. So light was carried from each of the four tail light housings to the display bar on the console and if your bulb in the rear burnt out, you knew for certain there would be no light at the display. I just wanted to correct that statement, no LED's on a 68 Vette I know of

You can tell the guy selling it was not very car savvy, he said it did not have power brakes but opens the hood and there is a brake booster, lol, and there was no stainless steel on it, it was all chrome, Wonder what it was bought for, it was given away for 4900. Mine is a 327/350HP, This one probably had the 194 intake valves where mine were 202.
