Hello Jack. Two Die Toten Hosen albums. I'm jealous. There were were some gems in your £20 haul, especially Misty In Roots and the Concert for Kampuchea. Cheers Mike

Hi Peter, hope you had a great Christmas! When I lived in Germany, Die Toten Hosen were really popular, but definitely not my thing. I like Topographic Oceans, but definitely need to be in the right mood for it. I don't know Heart at all and still haven't listened to those at all. I'm spent a fortune on vinyl over the last 3 weeks and really need to take a break!!! Cheers for watching, Jack

@ Rainbow were great! Bonnet did a fine job I think, great voice…although, no disrespect to him, Dio is the man! Judas Preiest were great too, as were Scorpions and Saxon. I’m a fan of April Wine too, and them and Riot were good, as were Touch (I hadn’t heard of them before going there), but I was pleasantly surprised, well I liked them anyway. It was my very first festival, so it has very fond memories for me. Other monster of rock were great, don’t get me wrong, 1984 was special, but it was my first one and it was a great show! Cheers man. What about you, have you managed to get to any fest like MOR? Enjoyed your upload, I like hearing people talk about their vinyl etc in the collection- I’m a collective as well. Best wishes 🤘

Hi Jack,MFSB (Mother Father Sister Brother) were like a house band of 30 plus musicians at the Philadelphia International label Sigma Sound Studios in the Seventies backing loads of legendary artists and songs. They made their own records too and the track "TSOP The Sound Of Philadelphia" is a classic on it's own and was the theme song to the U.S. t.v.show "Soul Train" and got to number one in the States selling over a million copies. Cheers,Ian

A really interesting video, Jack, as I was curious to see what was in those bags for £20! Some really nice records in there, but my personal fave was the Sam and Dave one 😊 Die Toten Hosen sound very interesting too, so I shall give them a listen! Best wishes, Christian

Sam and Dave and Misty in Roots were the two I was keen to get a hold of. However, I really liked the Jesse Fuller album... great, upbeat acoustic blues. I know that blues isn't normally described as upbeat or joyful, but this really is. Die Toten Hosen aren't really my thing... I remember they got played a lot in bars when I was living in Germany. Nope, not for me!!! Cheers for watching bud!
@christianewen3227

@ Ah yes, the Misty in Roots looked cool too and I’m really happy to hear one of your other acquisitions, in Jesse Fuller, proved to be such an enjoyable listen 😊 It’s great when that happens, when you get a record and you stick it on - perhaps not knowing too much about it, or not expecting too much - and it ends up being really enjoyable! I like the idea of joyful, upbeat blues myself, so it sounds like one I need to check out too. I will give Die Toten Hosen a try, out of curiosity, and that’s so cool you lived in Germany! I love going there so much - Bremen and Berlin, in particular - so I’m sure you must have some amazing stories from the time you spent over there! Always a pleasure to watch your vids, pal and I look forward to the next one 😎 Best wishes, Christian

That's a nice little haul for only £20. I've picked up that Misty In Roots LP recently and it's excellent, worth the £20 alone. The Emmylou Harris 'The Legendary Gliding Bird' album is a UK reissue of her rare US debut from 1969. She doesn't like the album and has bought the rights and masters to ensure it never gets reissued again, so even the issue you have is quite collectable. It's not a bad album at all, nothing embarrassing, just a 60's acoustic folk album. Enjoy! 🙂

Hey Gav, there were actually two mint copies of Hysteria in the bundle. After I bought and paid for the load the lady asked if she could keep one of the Hysteria, cause it reminded her of her partner. How could I say no 😕?!? Like you say, I'll get the dough back from the Hysteria alone. There was loads of Rod... I like him too! No Faces, but Smiler, Atlantic Crossing etc. Might be able to upgrade my copies.

Not all classical records are poundworthy..some of the Deutche Gramophon titles and Decca recordings from 60s and 70s can have decent value. Not sure if you're familiar, but there's a VCer called Alan, his channel is called Static Traveller..he's not currently making videos, but he's made a few really interesting and informative videos about classical records and what to look out for in terms of desirability. Some good titles there Jack. not necessarily all my cup of tea, but you got a great deal...the Misty in Roots is nice, reggae from that period doesn't show up too often in my experience.
@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf
@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf Ай бұрын
Hi Rob, know that some classical albums are really valuable and know the Deutche Gramophon label, but I've pretty much no idea what I'm really looking for when it comes to classical records. I read that for classical records to be worth anything at all they really need to be in pristine condition. I think classical collectors are far pickier when it comes to condition. Alan's channel sounds really informative. I'll definitely take look... always keen to learn. The Misty in Roots was a nice find. I really like stuff like that and Eek-a-Mouse... though again, I don't have a great knowledge of 80s reggae. Most of that collection was fodder that I'll hopefully move along to a carbooter! Cheers, Jack
