I really like the idea of placing the " measure stick" or ruler in the water in front of the dam to see exactly how much you have removed.
@jamestboehm64506 ай бұрын
Not many trees on the banks, grass and reeds make for easier removal. Keep an eye on them, more beaver there than you think with 4 dams. They will be digging more dens in the banks and tearing up the fields. Good work Mantas.

Are hunters or farmers allowed to trap or shoot oronlem beavers in your country? Or can they be trapped and relocated?

I have to wonder if you'd done the last dam first the others might have been knocked out by it.. Of course less content but if you had a camera at each dam as the wave hit???

Am I missing something? The ground around you is fairly flat. You stood at the smallest dam and the ground was 50 or 60 cm over your head. The largest dam the ground was about thigh level, so I'm guessing about 1 meter difference that the beavers have stolen.
@markl38936 ай бұрын
An interesting note. The highest land elevation in Lithuania is around 600 feet ASL. Not a single mountain that I can find.

😮The dams back fills with silt from the runoff from the fields and farms. That is how he can stand on the flooded area behind the dams. That will change the depth of the creek, at least until the dam is cleared and a storm or two washes the silt away.

You are putting in some work today. Did Moma say you were getting a little beer belly, toss you out of the house and told you to work it off. You were lucky the middle two dams were mainly grass and you didn't have to wrestle sticks like the big one. Go have an adult beverage and chill out a while. Hi to Roberta
