Good lesson . At about 5.20 ,It took me awhile to see you where talking about chords based on 4 strings, eg the lowest note on the D string and the other 3 notes down across the fretboard on the G,B and high E strings. Then as you said the chord could be constructed with the lowest note on the A string and the 3 strings below it or lowest note on the E string and the 3 below that. I am up to play with the notes on the E strings and the A string ( mostly from bar chords) but I think a handy prerequisite for this work, would be getting the note names down more on the D,G and B strings . To go to these chords quickly, do you use where the root is to orientate?

I have to comment again - ur excellent . U explain things clearly and bring very important information to the surface. I do want to mention, in this lesson at some point make note that these 4 triads w/7th are coming from the common CAGED system - that way new students will see the full 6 string chords in 5 shapes whereby taking each triad out. I just think it will make this information come to the surface even quicker. Just saying .. Bottom line : Everybody should join $ ur Patreon Page - Well worth it - Thanks for being out there. Ciao
@EmanuelHedberg
@EmanuelHedberg 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Regarding the CAGED system I actually disagree :) The 7th chords are just 7th chords and they come from the major scale. They are the 5th degree of the major scale. Then you can choose to organise the fretboard with the CAGED system if you want ;) But that's a different subject Thank you so much for being a Patreon. I really appreciate that. Thank you thank you

Great video bro,fast and easy explaining of chord shapes,keep up the good work!Ilove your music!! If i want to improvisation in this progression, are these scales the right ones?A7-Dmajor,D7- A RMM, E7-Amajor ?
@EmanuelHedberg
@EmanuelHedberg 3 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks! So over A7 you can play A mixolydian Scale. That’s the 5th mode of the D major Scale. Over D7 play D mixolydian (5th mode of G major Scale) and over E7 play E mixolydian (5th mode of A major Scale)

Wouldn’t it be better to do the connecting chords down the fretboard in the order A7, E7, D7 as that’s the order at the end of the 12 bar cycle? BTW, great lessons !
@EmanuelHedberg
@EmanuelHedberg 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Since the chord progression of a blues is A7 to D7 to A7 to E7, then D7 then A7 then E7, you could play the chords in that order
