I buy 3-4 chickens from Sam's club for $4.98 each. We eat one, I pull the meat and freeze so it's good to go for meals. I make bone broth with the carcasses. $20 worth of chicken goes a long way in my house! As for not having a Costco card, you can purchase a gift card for Costco and then you don't need a Costco membership to go in and spend it or use it online. I've been canning my own beans lately. Definitely a money saver and tasty. Yummy recipes!

Michelle hi. Enjoyed your video very much I know this sounds crazy but In my house we love the dark meat of the rotisserie Costco chicken ( 8$ Canadian here ). We struggle to be able to use the white breast meat. So I end up freezing it and at a later date I make a chicken Sheppards pie that’s smothered with lots of veggies and gravy. But chicken fajitas will be a good alternative for us next time. The carcass always turns into a delicious flavourful chicken broth using carrots , celery and onions plus a big bunch of dill , served with added egg noodles or matza balls. Keep well. Cheers from Toronto

Wow...4.99 for a chicken. In Ottawa Canada the best price is 9.99, usually 11.99. You have great ideas...love your recipes.

The chickens are much higher here also in other places. Sam’s and Costco are the only places I know that sell them that cheap. I feel like she said she paid 11.99 (that may not be right, but it was significantly more) for the replacement chicken after her son ate some of the breast she needed for the video.

Thank you Leane 😁 Sheila, Yes you are correct. It was $11.99 at Vons. I had to stop by their after work on the way home so that I could finish my video. lol.

I loved this video and was all fired up to make dinner tonight, it’s almost 90 today and we’re not used to those temps in northern New England. Sadly Costco was out of rotisserie chickens when I was there this afternoon and I was too tired to wait for the next batch! Unfortunately we have only one Costco and no Sam’s Club or BJ’s Wholesale in the whole state of Vermont, so I will have to wait until next week on my next trip to try your fabulous ideas! Thank you so much for all your hard work, I just love your videos and get so much inspiration from them.

Awe..that's too bad. I'm so surprised you don't have a SamsClub there. I kind of thought they would be all over. Even at Samsclub I find that you have to be there early to get the chicken, otherwise they sell out. I imagine they are taking a loss on them at this point with such a cheap price. I'm so glad you liked these recipes and are looking forward to trying them 😁 🥰That makes me so happy! Have a good rest of your week.

Thx for the spring roll idea. In the Philippines we made a peanut sauce for dipping (for lumpia) that was very simple; peanut butter, soy sauce, chili sauce (elephant label), and whatever makes you happy (garlic, sesame oil, etc). I'm sure there's more formal recipes online. Have you tried frying ramen noodles? Looking to recreate chow mein noodles which I add to salads for crunch.
@ArdentMichelle2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome 😁 I haven't tried the peanut butter soy sauce with that chili sauce, but sounds yummy. No I haven't tried frying ramen noodles but I'm actually not sure why I haven't because I'm familiar with the concept of frying noodles in Chinese cooking. 😋 I love the texture of fried noodles in with the softer ones. Thanks for sharing!

Our local Walmart after 10 o’clock will take the rotisserie chickens that were not sold that are cooked and put them in a cooler in the back by the milk and they sell them for $3.50 each! The next time I can run up to my local Walmart to get these bad boys I’m gonna stock up like crazy pull the meat off and since they’re already pre-cooked rotisserie chickens and the whole I’m gonna section them off and put them in bags and put them in my freezer
@ArdentMichelle2 жыл бұрын
Wow that's a great deal 👍 Thank you for sharing!
@lolareh87562 жыл бұрын
I used to do the same thing with the rotisserie chickens from walmart. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a $4.98 chicken at Walmart anymore. that was the small size. Then there was the large family size for about $7.89 I believe. In Central Florida you can only now get a medium sized chicken and it is about $6.79, slightly under $7. You no longer have a choice of small or large and I have not seen a reduced chicken at Walmart since they went to that size they just are unwilling to pass along any savings to us that's for sure. On their discount Bakery aisle, where you used to be able to find loaves of French bread at a reduced price, looks like you're having better luck than I am, haha. there are never anything like that left. There are very scant choices. And I have gone early in the morning when they put things out. Walmart just isn't making this much, because they don't want to have to sell it at a reduced price I'm sure. So I grab it when I can get it, lol. It looks like you're having better luck than I am, haha.
@BudgetYourWayWithAarynLynn2 жыл бұрын
@@lolareh8756 oh I didn’t know they were priced by size either that’s good to know because the chickens I’ve been getting lately I thought they were running a little small I must’ve been getting the family chickens or four and didn’t realize it thanks for the heads up on that and I think it is small chickens that are in the back

I loved this video! Thanks for the gluten free ideas. If you would like to experiment with a slightly different Asian flavour foundation you might like the try a combination of sesame oil, desiccated ginger and coconut amino. This last one is a soy sauce alternative. It's gluten free and slightly sweet but still low calorie.

Unfortunately, my walmart no longer has the 4.98$ small rotisserie chickens anymore. It only has the medium size ones for 7$. I do know if you go in after the deli closes, sometimes they'll have the chickens that didn't sell that day on clearance.

That's what another viewer was saying. I didn't realize they discounted them. Do you have a Costco or Samsclub card? They are still $4.98 there.
