I don't like raisins or pineapple in my carrot cake. I love just plain carrot cake with pecan cream cheese frosting. I haven't tried the chocolate truffle carrot cake yet. I'm a chocoholic but I've never considered chocolate and carrots meshing well. It might. Carrots get sweeter as they cook. I think I'll just put the chocolate in 1/2 the cake 1st. 4:02 and 4:23. BEAUTIFUL! ❤😍 I asked for carrot cake more often than not when my birthday rolls around. Though, this year, I'm making a homemade Turtle cake. I've never pureed my carrots before adding it to the mix. I use freshly shredded carrots. How's the texture of the cake when using pureed carrots?

First one should be made in the reverse order, make the choc fudge and then the batter once the fudge is out of the fridge. Otherwise you activate the baking powder too early and the cake won't work

The carrot cake with chocolate ganache actually a take on Brazilian carrot cake (bolo de cenoura) and the chocolate balls are truffles (brigadeiro). I have never made mine with brigadeiro inside, but don't knock the chocolate and carrot cake until you try it. It's sooo good!

I thought mixing peanut butter, soy sauce and garlic sounded weird. But, wow, is it delicious on chicken, either grilled, baked or BBQ'd. Have you tried the 🍫 carrot cake yet? I was wondering about the taste, too. But, carrots get sweeter as they cook. I'm going to try it but only put the chocolate in 1/2 the cake. I can't decide if I'll like it if I don't try it though.

@@anakelly76512 I find those flavors you mentioned to be quite compatible right from the outset. Mouthwatering in fact. But a carrot cake is somewhat like a spice cake and it can have a rather delicate flavor depending on what is added. It doesn't derive its flavor from the carrots to any significant degree. What would be the reason to make it taste like a pan of fudge brownies? This is an absurd channel run by people with ghastly sensibilities who haven't even the faintest understanding of cooking. That's why I watch it! It's like watching a train wreck . They use chocolate as if it were tomato sauce. If I want real recipes then I go to a real cooking channel. This is essentially the Tik Tok of food prep channels.

Yes it is too much oil. Most recipes for this Brazilian carrot cake (bolo de cenoura) call for 1/2 cup to 1 cup oil. The recipe I make calls for 1/2 cup.

Depends on how much batter you're making. For one 8 in. round carrot cake, the recipe we always use calls for 1 cup of vegetable oil. It also calls for 3 cups of freshly grated or shredded carrots. A 1/2 cup more oil isn't too big a deal.

Is your recipe for bolo de cenoura? The recipe I use calls for 1lb of carrots shredded and 1/2 cup oil and it makes a 9 inch cake. 1/2 oil is definitely a lot more when it comes to baking. It's literally half the amount of what you (you said you use 1 cup) already use. Baking is a science.

The first one was disgusting to me. I liked how the second looked but honestly I don't think I'd like carrot cake with anything but cream cheese icing. I guess I'm not adventurous. They all looked gross to me after the icing step. I did think a couple of the cake recipes were interesting though.
