It's both that getting interest is better than a low chance at renni 2, and that since it's chem baron you want to stay weak to maintain lose streak. You really don't want to 2 star anyone until the rest of the lobby is strong enough that you will still lose with the 2 star champ.

Ofcourse its up to you to play what you want, but economic traits like chembaron are kinda rough as a new player. They will become much easier if you get an understanding for the combat traits first. Since the game is vastly balanced all around these combat traits, i really recommend you to focus on them first!
