It's more flexible, but also he's good at motion graphics in general, he's going to make it look easy. He can definitely hit the ground running. Anyone already doing great things in other software, should be able to transfer the skill set over quite nicely.

You made it very simple for new Davinci Resolve users or prior After Effects users to just make a graphic overlay simply. Great Job!

This was one of the best put-together tutorials I've seen for DR nodes. Being new to editing, the nodes were always a daunting part of the software that I was intimidated by; this helped push me over that fear. Thanks for the simple and straight-to-the-point piece on DR motion graphics! I subscribed to see what else DR content you come up with!

Please do more Davinci Resolve tutorials! Since the software is free, more potential users and designers will benefit more from these tutorials. And by supporting the an alternative software platform, it'll affect the market and hopefully get other platforms to lower their costs to consumers! Thank you!

Great tutorial! However, I have one suggestion (to make this more easy to use) - for example, if I have a shorter text or a longer text, I always have to manually adjust the length of the yellow background and that's not efficient. You could (on the text node) go to the "Shading menu" and then under shading, select element #2 and activate it. This'll give you the option to create a Background for each individual letter, each individual word or the whole text. If you set this to "whole text" no matter if you shorten the text or make it longer, the background will automatically adjust according to the text. And another tip: publish your polygon points and make an expression from the polygon position to the textbox position so they will automatically adjust with the textbox! Hope it's understandable what I'm trying to say! :) Anyways, great tutorial! :)

I don't like that you can't see the clip that it will be overlaid on when you are editing the fusion composition. I'm trying to figure out how I can see that clip when making motion graphics so that I can perfect the timing of the graphics with the dialogue, instead of creating the graphics and trying to time it out after by going back into the edit tab. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@TerenceKearns2 жыл бұрын
That was great. Nice one dude. I'm sure that will work in the free version of Resolve as well. In terms of requests, it would be cool to know how to add overlays quickly and efficiently for highlighting content below - ie. putting a box around something or an arrow or a highlighter. These things are super simple but the challenge is to make it quick, painless, and reusable. So when you're making tutorials or infographics, you can whip them out real quick to create rich presentations. If it takes too long or it's clunky, you'd be less likely to sprinkle them everywhere in your presentations.

Yes, more Davinci Resolve tutorials, please! Perhaps take some of your most popular AE tutorials and show us how to do those projects in Resolve? I wouldn't mind a few color grading tutorials, either! While I have a Studio license that was bundled with my video camera, the very capable free version might help those just starting out and that can't yet justify the monthly cost for CC.

Your tutorial is not for beginners. It's for people who already have idea or experience to Adobe. In the windows movie maker you just input and click the effects but here you draw a lot of line I couldn't even understand and follow. And if I want to create other lines and effects on my own without copying yours. I don't know what I am going to do. You should upload step by step in able for us beginners can follow.
@Photovintageguy2 жыл бұрын
There are probably simpler ones. But i would suggest you just follow along and follow along, with this or simpler ones. Once you assemble a few and work with them, the nodes structure aren't a big thing. Obviously you have to learn more complex things, but to actually use nodes in a simple way or to build them following directions of someone else will not be that hard. Especially simple ones and even more complicated if people don't leave stuff out. One of my first fusion things i built was a neon sign. I followed and built a usable sign, I still don't understand everything in it, but could customize it the way I wanted it, after I built like they said step by step. I definitely could not build from scratch. But it works all the same, and parts I wanted to modify were quite modular and isolated from the other parts because if the nodes. I even took various parts from different neon tutorials.
