Looking great... Little hint to ponder... Trade your box pusher and snow blade on a power V plow... It's the best of both worlds....its a v-plow...... power angle plow....and a reverse v-snow pusher.. it's 3 units on the front in 1 unit ... A much needed deep snow clearing peice👍👍

You guys need a retired county plow truck with either a V blade and a wing or a standard blade and wing. That would be so much more practical for the road

Looks fun. At some point a tractor mounted snowblower needs to be in the equation. Pick it up and move it off the road. Etc.

I just came across your channel a couple days ago. I see you are struggling with snow and equipment. I also noticed you drove through Afton Wy. So we are close. I’ve been doing snow removal almost 30 years in the Jackson, Wy area. You just need a little help on technique and equipment which come with experience and you could save a bunch of time and headache. I’m happy to help, just message me. You guys are on the right track!

I set my pusher about 6" off the deck and the rear blade to the ground. That works good to about 18" snow depth for me.

Great teamwork, awesome wife! … I got a good one too that will pitch in, and she is a healthcare worker also. These kind of women are rare and precious! You have your back blade at too much of an angle that's why you can't keep the tractor straight..... With what heavy snow and a lot of it better off just using the bucket... Or at least the snow pusher

I love your determination, and the support you give each other. You are both inspiring. Nice teamwork to get this tractor out of an unfortunate position. I also live on sloping ground, which can sometimes lead to dangerous situations. With such a quantity of snow, it becomes more difficult to spot the edges of the road, and a tractor with a high center of gravity can easily overturn.

I enjoy watching your hard work. 30 yrs ago thought about doing that. We have our oasis in the city - I married well, but out of town wouldn’t have easily worked. Most recent storms, we stayed in and abused natural gas and electric, but I prepped generator, and have a stockpile of wood good for a month. Fortunately, we didn’t need the prep. Surprising how many people in town could, but don’t. Many times, we’ve been the only house on the street with heat and lights. Most often, I plug gas furnace into the generator, but if power is off overnight, then stoke up the wood stove. We don’t use the wood stove much as the wood costs me more than natural gas. In January 2020 our furnace failed, so then I heated 6-1/2 weeks on wood. Took my time to find a brand/company/price. What I thought funny when getting quotes, I’d load up the stove to heat house to 80 while they were here and pretend it’s normal. It’s fun to make them sweat.

Just a tip on the brakes...I use the emergency brake since it's a cable and ratchet. My 93 S10 is overdue for a brake job so moving it around gets to be a trick. Real steep hills like you have will probably just slow it down. Stay warm and stay safe.

SNOW BLOWER, plowing snow with anything is terrible on the equipment and the plow. Up where you guys are you need a snow blower to get that snow way off away from the road...a lot less wear and tear on your equipment using a blower instead of trying to use a plow, and in reality all you are doing is using that plow as a battering ram...and all its battering is your equipment. Take some lessons from Heath and the number of plow trucks he's torn up. Scrap that homeowner snow plow, and get a snow blower.

I'm sure you have thought about this. However what about getting a skid steer with a snowblower specifically for the main road? I know Heath has talked about that. If you both had one it might help you both to not have to be out there for so long and more time on the projects that I'm sure you'd prefer to spend your time on. Just a thought. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

WHY would anyone choose to live in such a harsh climate without the proper equipment for snow removal??? I would think a snow blower on a tracked skid steer or something would be the way to go, blowing seems to be better than pushing !!!
@MountainMapleRanch

absolutely correct… the plows have always been sufficient but our use of the property in the past year has increased the number of areas we need full time access to, which has definitely caused us to reevaluate. Blower is definitely in the plan.
