4 days after surgery for diastasis AKA tummy tuck

I'm Melissa, a pelvic health physio with diastasis.
I have decided to have surgery and have been documenting my journey. Not only do I find it therapeutic for myself, but I also know this process is hard to navigate even for someone who understands the body really well.

This was so helpful to hear. normalizes what I am feeling. Day 5 I had some hearing loss...that was wierd!!

Yes 3 weeks on Saturday and still can't stand straight. I know the feeling

I hve severe back ache cant stand straight after 10 days

You can easily close your gap with stomach vacuums. That has been my experience for two pregnancies.

I’m four days out. Back ache. But, I am more comfortable in my recliner 2 drains are lessening. But , my butt does feel flat!!!i So happy I did it and on the road to recovery!

I'm on day four and can stand straight for a few mins, but then bend forward. Passing stools are painful with sore abs😣.

yes it hard to imagine how everything can be so hard until you get there!

Hang in there. Those early stages are SO HARD.

Give it time . Don’t rush your recovery. If you have too many people around you , it makes your pain level spike. You have to stay calm. Make 4 hour schedule . Eat a bit, walk with a waked bent over. Stretch , meditate or read. Let your self sleep/doze. I hope you will be happy. Lov pj

What surface are you sleeping on (your bed, sofa, etc.)?

Hi there. We had to stay in an air B+B for 5 nights as I travelled for my surgery. The bed was too high to get in to and too soft so I slept on the couch which was actually quite comfortable.

Did you sometimes have shivering the third day at times? I do. And nausea

Yes. Use the anti vomiting medicine prescribed 1/2 hour before you eat a few bites
