Stress really does eat at you. We have some big changes happening in the next few months away from KZbin and I can feel the stress pouring over into the rest of life too! UGH!! Just have to Stay Positive!!

Wow, WAY more selection than in Whitehorse, when I go down to the coast I feel like I have been marooned on a deserted island for way too long, totally starved from variety when it comes to food.......Your road looks very similar to ours except we have conifers mostly, you have taller, lusher trees, much warmer and wetter in Anchorage. Nothing beats living in the country, so much safer and quieter and so private (the best part) plus all that nature :) A major move is listed as being as stressful as other major life changes e.g death :P When we moved to Whitehorse my conscious self was so pleased but my subconscious was reeling, very stressful first few months until the new became the new normal and my subconscious was happy again :)

I live in England and the vlogs for me are uploaded round about 11pm-midnight so its nearly the day after for me when I watch these blogs but they are worth staying up for.

No Tim Tams, but noticed the Kettle brand chips @ 2:54. You have to try the maple bacon Kettle chips if you haven't already ~ Amazing and addictive! Moving is very stressful but no more hotels and new house in 4 days!!

oh my I feel you on that, I've been stuck living at my inlaws for 2 yrs, since we moved here to this state. All of my items are packed up and I've just been dealing with it. Nov 15th we get our house, the one we bought and we can move in and unpack and really start living again. I feel like I've been a hermit in my own bedroom b/c when your used to having your own space, then it's gone and you are reduced to a bedroom, it's horrible. So happy you get your freedom in 4 day, I have 2 months still.

LOL...I have watched so many of your vlogs..especially from the moving from LA to Alaska and I have to say, you remind me SO much of my brother. Same humor and it cracks me up. I am pretty sure you both were separated at birth or something. Your vlogs have inspired me and my family to make sure we do the ALCAN and head up to Anchorage for a summer during our traveling the country in our RV. I used to live in Kenai/Soldotna area in my 20's and I miss it so much. I do not miss the winter so much but I do miss Alaska. I can't wait to revisit and explore with my family! So I just wanted to leave a comment expressing how much I have enjoyed your vlogs and I can't wait to watch the rest of what you have posted and continue for as long as you decide to vlog. We are going to be doing the same thing about our adventures traveling the country with our children. If you have not yet been to the Kenai area, you MUST. It's so pretty over there, the fishing is amazing and I know Homer is far but MAN is it worth it. Honestly...bald eagles EVERYWHERE. It's gorgeous country over there and a very small town feel. I loved living there SO much. I remember walking to the river from our rental house just to sit and listen to the ice move and crack and the rushing water underneath the ice. There is nothing like that sound. I will also never forget being chased by a cow moose thanks to my dog charging her, lol. Good times. :)

Something I learned is to not rely on things to make you happy, try to be as happy in the present as you can and wait until things get better or you'll be stressed for no reason in the mean time. I just realized that lately I've sounded like a hippy in the comment section but I just figured that I'd give some positive advice from my own experience. I realize that my advice may not seem as credible because my channel is based around video games and I'm young but it's not really about how long you've lived but how much you've experienced to give advice that can help others. I'm just trying to help, sorry if I sound annoying.

So excited for you all!! 4 days will go by quick!! It might be a great idea to invest in a Sunlamps and Full Spectrum Lights they are great for treating Seasonal Affective Disorder and assisting in Vitamin D production for those long sunless days. I've seen a little one at Jo-Anne's Craft stores but I'm sure they sell them in many places!

once your moved in take a video of your kitties exploring their new home! My cat Anubis is sleeping on my left hand and half of my laptop. All he and his brother have is this tiny one bedroom apartment. They are at least kinda leash trained. You should leash train yours if you haven't already so they can explore outside safely.

Hey Cory, I really enjoy your vlogs from Alaska. I understand your enjoyment of the great outdoors vs being cooped up in a concrete jungle. Have you found any metal detecting locations yet to explore or do you need to consult the lawbooks before going out on your epic adventures? At any rate, just keep swimming! Can't wait until you're blogging about the -80 degree weather. Winter is coming. Get cords and cords of firewood, stat, if you're going to heat your house with a woodstove. I'm an expat from Cali as well, moved to Colorado. It gets that cold here too. Be prepared!

Both of you should go have a funny t-shirt made about being stuck in a hotel room. But really, go buy a couple new shirts and pants for both of you. And of course the cats and dog should get a new toy and catnip. Or have the shirts with a date when you left cali and when you got to Alaska or when you move in. A fun reminder of your new beginning. Any Chinese/Asian supermarket anywhere has most likely the cheapest fruits in the city and has the most selection. Try it out for groceries one day, you might be pleasantly surprised. Of course one may differ from another so shop around and find your favourite store.

first of all thanks for the advice. second for anyone interested in Dragon fruit, they do stock it in UK super markets, they have it this time of year in some waitrose and Sainsburys and randomly in tesco. it's only about £1.20 probably a lot more easy to find in the south/ south east sort of area. I have a feeling that in about a month or two you'll be going hatless just because.

And here I thought it was Bear Grylls... Yeah, alcoholism is a BIG problem in Alaska. Nothing else to do, apparently. Two things you MUST do, Cory. First, check on Google maps and GPS to make sure Fedex and UPS can find your house. Maybe stop at one of the "stores" and ask if they would know your new address. xsparkage got a new house and neither shipper had knowledge of the address because it was a brand new construction. As long as they can find your house, you can order from Amazon! Secondly, get an Ott light or other full spectrum UV lamp. Get full spectrum bulbs for the house if they don't have them already. This can help prevent SADD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which is a sort of depression caused by lack of sunlight and UV. Also, get Vitamin D pills. Not having sunlight means your body will become deficient in it. Vitamin D helps your body do important things, and it helps make other nutrients. It will keep your hair from falling out too! Keep recharging, soon you will have your own space. And you will have memories of that time to share. It's a good sign that the two (5) of you can share one room!

I spent a long time in hotels during moves before. The longest one, over a month, I wound up getting a small television and hooking my PS2 to it since the hotel didn't have the actual remote to change the feeds to the television they had. That being said--I knew I'd get bored so I'd made sure to bring my game systems with me and not ship them/store them. And books. And the hotel had free internet =x

It's okay to be stressed. Living in a hotel would probably make most people go a little nuts. I have also witnessed somebody taste some piss from a bottle downtown. Downtown is a bit crazy late at night, I make it a point to go home before bar close. Also, Alaska is expensive, and New Sagaya is generally a bit more expensive anyway. The deli is great for lunch though! There's also one downtown on 13th and I.

You can always get amazon prime and get them (Tim Tams) in 2 day shipping lol you may want to get a amazon prime account for basic items that do cost more there. Also I suggest a Nesco Snackmaster Pro Food Dehydrator FD-75A to make your own jerky and other snacks

I was confused as to why you couldn't find tim tams as every store in this country (Australia) has them, even the little private corner shops, then I realised they aren't a staple food over there like here (we have unofficially added it to the daily food pyramid). I would love to send you some tim tams but I'm a bit of a You Tube Noob and wouldn't have a clue how to go about that! If you read this and would like me to I'd be honoured :-). Oh and if you haven't tried the "tim tam slam" then I would highly recommend it lol

was wondering when you would find new sagayas. It's a oriental and fish market so thats why alot of asian stuff. There are 2 locations, so maybe the other location has tim tams? I go to UAA and my class is right across the street from that new sagayas. If you really want a unique experience there is a place called IHOH its right across from the sears mall and they do hotdogs but they put stuff on top of them.

Actually the energy drink was called "Bacchus-D" as in back-us. And Bacchus is the Roman God of wine and alcohol. Dionysus is the Greek version of Bacchus, hence "Bacchus-D".

Aside from the urological oddity, which was not so objectionable-- this was a perfectly serviceable vid. As for presence of Asian foods, you're at the top of the Pacific Rim and Anchorage is the big market. Interesting stuff.
