I never thought I'd have to defend my blush placement (on the apples of my cheeks most of the time) because of my very long face, until I recently have seen such rude comments on pictures of celebrities or other people wearing it there- so I came here to see where i should put it and lo and behold! I think a lot of modern people have forgotten all the tips and techniques us oldies got from years and years of beauty magazines growing up! Then you come along, thank goodness, and restore a little sense to it all.

Love this tutorial, so many ppl get blush wrong including myself. After I changed my blush application to the higher planes of the cheek bone, it made my face look more lifted and not pulled down. Also blending is so important. Often times I see girls with huge amounts of bright blush on the apples of the cheeks and sometimes even lower than that and it looks so unnatural and made up. Keeping it defined with the correct placement of blush and blending makes such a big difference!

@DannieGurl199510 жыл бұрын
when you say tiny, do you mean height wise? Because you can have a heart shape and have a short forehead. It's width at the forehead and narrowness at the chin that makes it a heart.

DannieGurl1995 It's short;; it only fits three of my fingers. my whole face is pretty narrow, but not evenly narrow. My chin begins to taper after my cheek bones and I have high cheek bones. My forehead isn't wider than my cheek bones, it's either slightly narrower, or the same width. It feels it it goes in slightly starting at my temple.

is there any way to make your cheeks and cheekbones less prominent? cause i feel like mine take up the entire face..
@Tengounsecreto23110 жыл бұрын
To make cheekbones less prominent, do not contour your cheeks. Also, don't apply a bright blush only on the apple of your cheek as that emphasizes round, prominent cheekbones. Use a softer color and make sure it is diffused. And if you like to highlight, make sure it's subtle and not a frosted glaring highlight. But I love your cheekbones. Just don't overemphasize them like most people do because you don't need it.

First, I must say I absolutely adore you and your love for what you do! There has not been a time that I have not smiled or laughed out loud. This time was no different. Yes, totally a "cacophony of color" works! Your face shouldn't look like individual or separate stripes on a color palette. Everything should blend beautifully. Everyone should "play" with make up (I call it glow because when I wear it I hold my head up a little higher, have a little extra bounce in my step of confidence and do feel like I glow). It's fun and practice does make a difference. You are right, it is just make up...if you mess up, you can start over...or...blend blend blend! Thank you for everything you do! You are greatly talented and amazing! I just had to let you know you have made a brilliant difference in my "glow" Have a beautiful day!

Wait, what about the most popular face shape, the oval? I have an oval face shape, but it isn't long, I have a very small forehead, but a tiny face overall. I don't know which technique to use, help me WAYNEEEE lol. No, seriously, help me. Should I use the long face technique? The problem is although my face is an ova, I do not have a particularly long face.

Darling, didn't you read the beginning in the video? Oval faces can use whatever technique they like - all suits :) but that goes for any face shape too :) its just a guide line :) xxxx

I have the same thing a smallish forehead with an oval face but quite prominent cheeks sometime blush placed wrong can make them look bigger.. Not what I want! Would love to see a video in how to contour cheeks like mine.. as in how to make it look smaller I like that I have the killer cheekbones but not the chubby apples shaped cheek! Lol x
@MckinneyMini10 жыл бұрын
***** Hmm, thats weird I did not see that caption the first time I saw the video, guess I missed it, sorry :-(. Anyway, thank you for responding Wayne :-). I also was wondering because you said oval shapes can use any technique, but as I said in my comment above I don't have a typical oval shape and have a VERY small forehead so I don't think the technique where people put bronzer on their temples would suit me as it would make my forehead look smaller, thats why I was asking. My head shape is not quite oval and not quite some of the others so I was just curious. Anyway, thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond.
@MckinneyMini10 жыл бұрын
Caroline Hawkins Exactly!! I explained it in my comment, but I'm not sure if he was just busy and only read the first line in my comment. There is no way I could use the technique where people put bronzer on their temples because it would make my head look ridiculously small. Looking at your profile pic, it looks like we have the same head/face shape :-).
@notaubrey940710 жыл бұрын
At least he replied some don't 😊 & at last someone the same face shape as me I try not to put too much bronzer on my forehead just a touch either side of my temple I do use a highlighter on the top of my forehead & in the centre to open it up info contour my cheekbones slightly and place blush higher up & try not to place it in the apples it helps a bit bit I sure would love a professional to sgow me if I'm going wrong x

HayGurl Hay Use a lipstick or eyeliner pencil that you don't love, AND that will come off the mirror easily. I know with some lipsticks, all it does is smear when you try to whip it off something. =)

This was super helpful, and honestly you're so charismatic and goodlooking. Also I just realized I never saw a make up tutorial done by a man, a very pleasant surprise.

I love how natural the looks in all your videos are and that you use a light hand, unlike most youtubers that look like drags... :*

Thanks for this video!! This was really helpful. I used the technique where you out the blusher on your cheeks and your temples. I feel like a lot of beauty guru's don't go over how to correctly apply blusher, they sort of brush over the subject for whatever reason. You just hear "apply blush" or whatever, but this was extremely simple and informative. Thanks! Love your videos.

Hello Wayne. I have a fan brush. Never used it before. You just taught me how to apply blush with it. Very pretty. Thank you Wayne.

Thank you for the point about highlighter application. So many ladies are overdoing it lately.

Hallelujah Wayne!!! Great minds think alike! Yes, they should all be blended together! I see girls that think they are just rockin' the makeup...but you can see every layer from where it starts to where it ends!!! Soooo Ridiculous! 😖 Your the best! 😉😘 I would love to just hang out with you...just us having fun away from everyone! Chill mode. No drama, no one coming up to us for pictures or anything! 😊 Oh by the way...cool Jar!❤

You are just brilliant. Even from cheek to cheek you can visually see how it changes the shape of your face to look longer or shorter. And to add, you're hilarious too. Such a great video, glad I'm subscribed :)

I cannot wait to try the arc method, as my face is long. Iv'e been doing the apple of the cheek method but well blended. It always inspires me to watch you, Wayne.

You are so flippin awesome Wayne!!! I found your channel not too long ago and I am so pleased that I did. You have taught me so many techniques in such a short period of time and I could just kiss you for it!!! I'm sitting here tonight catching up again before heading to a wedding tomorrow and then my daughters wedding next month. I'm hoping to look like a pro for both! Btw, your giggles and 'aha!" moments crack me up!

Oh my gosh! I learned so much! Blush has always been so frustrating for me because I was always told to smile while putting it on and then when I do that, like you said, all the blush ends up by my mouth when I stop smiling and I just look sunburned. XD Can't wait to start doing it the right way!

This is absolutely the most brilliant video I've seen on explaining blush application!! Thank you so much, Mr. Goss!!!
