Hi Patrick im definitely going to put the finished tray om top and agitate the castings, great tips.😁👌👍
@VermicompostАй бұрын
I love this way of harvesting!! I usually watch gardening & worm farming KZbin videos in between the agitations to keep me busy😁 Thanks for the good words and thanks so much for watching Nick!!🪱🪱🪱

Hi Patrick I filled an empty tray with used compost and placed it at the bottom layer so hopefully the leachate will rejuvenate the compost. 👍👌😁

That sounds like a great idea!! Let me know how it turns out Nick!!🪱🪱🪱

Great compilation video, Patrick. I think it all comes down to moisture when it comes to almost any of those harvest methods. Not too wet, not too dry, just like Goldilocks! ~ Sandra
@VermicompostАй бұрын
Thank you Sandra!! Very true, keeping the moisture level not too wet as the bin progresses towards harvest is key to an easy harvest!! And we definitely don't want they dry and void of microbial life!! Thanks so much for dropping by to watch & support us!!🪱🪱🪱

Nice video Patrick! You demonstrate perfectly how easy it is to harvest castings by a horizontal migration method, plus the other methods you deploy in your other bins. Stay Well my friend !!!

Thanks Brian!! The best part of worm farming for me is harvesting that garden gold!! Thanks for all your support!!!🪱🪱🪱

Wonderful information, Patrick 🪱💩🪱 I hope you and Autumn had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with a houseful of family and friends. Lots of food scraps for the worms 🪱 ❤🪱 I like the cardboard with holes. Good advice, AV!👍 Whoa! Big feeding ❤🪱❤️ Take care ❤Peggy❤ Enjoy this new cold front for the next few days.

Thanks Peggy!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with all three boys and their respective wife/fiancé/girlfriend as well as Autumn's parents! We do have a lot of potato peels for the worms from all the mashed potatoes!! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!! I'm a little worried about the garden for Tuesday night...we are supposed to get down to around 37℉ which usually means some frost locally. I was planning on getting some covers for my garden beds for Christmas, I just hope it doesn't get too cold before St. Nick visits!! Thanks so much for watching!!🪱🪱🪱

Great showing off the different methods. In the next week I will be harvesting my Vermihut tray using the agitation/light method. It works well. Good luck with the migration better than counting every single worm 😂🪱🪱
@VermicompostАй бұрын
Thanks Rick!! I agree that agitation method works so well in the VermiHut!! Autumn was reminiscing about counting the worms, so we might give it a try again in 5 months since the scars are healing😂Thanks so much for dropping by to watch!!🪱🪱🪱

Hey hey! Woohoooo! Great compilation of various harvesting method options. Well done on this video. Thanks for those nifty shout-outs on the migration feeding zone's partition cardboard & the bubble-wrap top coverings 👍🏻 That feeding zone looks downright scrumptious - I don't think your wormies are going to be able to resist it :)
@VermicompostАй бұрын
Thanks AV!! I love doing your migration method in this worm bin! It definitely beat plucking them out one by one and counting them like I used to do 😂 Thanks so much for watching & for teaching us all so much over the years!!🪱🪱🪱

The urban worm bag seems to be the easiest to harvest from.

I would agree!! I literally just "drain" it out of the bottom and it goes right in my storage container...and the best part is it comes out 25lbs at a time!! Thanks so much for watching Joe!! I hope your Thanksgiving was fantastic!!🪱🪱🪱
