Nice work. If you ever find that your score reels are not resetting to 0, look to score motor 4A, on the bottom level. That is the pulser that provides 5 pulses per 1/3 revolution, to pulse the reel solenoids, through either Z1 or Z2. Some Z1 outputs are "per reel", some are "per player", the former having one switch contact per reel, the latter having one switch contact per player. If 4A isn't closing properly, the pulses will never reach Z1 nor Z2, and, hence, never reach the reel coils For normal scoring, the 1A switches will be used to pulse the reel coils.

Got the machine running! Thanks Man! Pretty sure the player unit that pivots down in the beginning had a stuck coil. loosen the screen activated teh scoring wheels and boom she is back to life!

Thanks to this video I found out why both 100s score reels in my Gottlieb Out of Sight would not advance the 1000s reels....same problem as you discovered, the switch that closes on the withdrawal of the reel solenoid was not making good contact. I thought it must be a problem with the 100 or 1000 relay since it was just occuring in the 100s reel and for both players. Instead it was the same problem in both 100s reels. Cheers. 🙂

When your starter kept running i called it. It was shouting at the screen. Check the score board... Lol i have an old Williams Pit Stop that hangs up on one score reel. I need to take it out and clean it.

The set takes five steps, pauses and then another five steps. what makes it pause? Is there any electronic circuit?

I am having the same issue as your #2 issue. The reset process seems to be going fine, but then the the score motor is stuck and never kicks a ball out. I have watched this video, but unfortunately, am not following how you fixed this issue exactly. I have a 1976 Sure Shot by Gottlieb. any help would be appreciated.

Thankyou for this, I am struggling with a Gottlieb Bronco (1977) looks very similar visually to this one. Right now which does not carry scores over 10->100, you've given a number of areas to look at, will try that N/M/L relay clocking trick. Update: M and L both hold 'on' when activated and will only let go if I tug them off; same for all 4 players - seems unlikely to be the score reels as all 4 would need to have their carry-over permanently on to do this; Any ideas?

Yay got it! We have scoring! Dirty contacts on the other pair of M contacts (power red -> white+black) which leads to P1C the orange/red up to the 100 reels relay. These contacts appeared to be closing fine visually but were infinite resistance.

Gottlieb 4 player machines are a pickle somtimes to figure out the AX/BX SWITCHES ( ARE THE BITCHES SWITCHES) THEY can drive you crazy trying to find the problem.
