FRENCH LOVER is sooo amazing. For as natural as it smells, it has great performance. No rough edges at all. It's a masterful composition. For me, it's the best Spring scent you can wear. LOVE IT!

Nobody does a masculine like Pierre Bordoun, who composed French Lover. With a resume that includes Kourous, cool water, montblanc individuelle, MDCI parfumes amber topkapi, I wish he does more.

So I bought the discovery set that had six masculine scents. Of course I really like Monsieur, but I actually like the smell of French Lover more. But my sample of French Lover had very poor performance, like a skin scent within an 2 hours. I'd be interested in seeing a follow up on that scent in particular.

Among Frederic Malle collection, I love Musc Ravageur and French Lover the best. I think they're not that polarizing for niche scents, either.

Portrait of a Lady? Here's my review: Strong, synthetic, "plasticky" smelling rose. Smells like a brand new plastic beach ball smeared with rose oil.

French lover is great. Carnal Flower however is one of my top 3 scents of all time, so try that if u dont know it. What a fantastic house FM is and Ropion is a personal hero. FYI, the WC boxer Tyson Fury wears FM Portrait of a Lady.

Does french lover have Any resemblance to spice&wood from creed?

Not at the start but closer at the drydown, since FL is very green initially, and SW not so much. They are both spicy and woody, but SW is more safer and a lot less green. They to me have some resemblance, SW is more pleasing and smooth, while FL is more green, rooty and more rough around the edges. The longer it goes, the closer they get to each other. The drydown to me is pretty close if i am honest, since it is mainly spices and woods for both of them.

VetiverEx one of my go-to spring vetivers for quite some time. Interestingly enough, Portrait of a Lady gets so much talk but I always preferred French Lover to that one. Promise still my favourite to wear from the line though. Wait till we get to a sample of The Night.... got TP? 🧻🧻🧻

FM as a brand is fantastic, my faves are Vetiver Extraordinaire, Cologne Indelebile and L’Eau D’Hiver Also try Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier another great house.

French Lover is my big purchase for the year. I havent really smelled majority of the malles. The only ones I have tried aside from French Lover are POAL, bigarade concentree, carnal flower, superstition, and lys mediteranee. Bigarade for me has too much of a similarity to TDH eau tres fraiche.

I wouldn’t be buying anything from any of the Grey Market sellers- read reviews of these sites- sketchy. You can buy these scents in 10/30/50/100ml sizes, the 10ml/30ml bottles are more affordable.
