I had the same problem when I first started. It's because it feels more natural to shoot with your dominant hand which would suggest a right hand stick for me or left for you since the dominant hand would be lowest and therefore feel like you can give more power. But then handling is much easier with your dominant hand at the top and especially when you are holding the stick in one hand it it much easier to control with dominant hand. So I was also thrown off by that. But more important than how you feel shooting is ball handling/dribbling because you're doing that more often and I think it's much easier to get used to shooting with your non dominant below than learning to hold and dribble with your non-dominant hand. That's my experience anyway.

For what is mountain and valley usefull in game?
@FloorballBasics3 жыл бұрын
There are advances moves which will be applicable in games. However, at basic level, it's all about understanding how the ball works and how well u can control the ball. Mountain and valleys is one of of the few basic fundamental moves ...

Scandinavian players, unlike us who dribble left right, use mountains.

@@hamjes it was one of the very first fundamental basic skills that I've learnt as a player when I was young. Point blank, it doesn't look useful in the game in terms of real life application. But I can tell you that this simple skill once mastered it allows you to understand the movement of the ball, how heavy or light your touch needs with the ball. Overtime with practice together with other skills, that's how you build up your game "weapons" ...

Hi! Im just starting in floorball, may i ask for why mountain and valley’s is an important skill? I do not really see the application in real games
@FloorballBasics Жыл бұрын
When u master mountains and valleys, one of the application you can do in game is to do fake passes. But that's only when u reach onto a higher level before u understand how to apply that.
