The Score of the game doesn’t reflect how well Oklahoma played. They had 12 hits to Florida’s 4 but the difference for a lot of the game is that the Florida hits were homers and Oklahoma couldn’t get hits with runners in scoring position. That is something to monitor as they now face the best offense in the country in Texas

@bradleycarroll81876 ай бұрын
Part of the problem the power hitting is gone the intimidation factor isn't as bad as it use to be those 3 title teams had all of it. Those 7 losses we had could have been wins had we not left runners in scoring position. In order to beat OUr Queens you have to beat them at their own game. And now everybody is finally catching up to us
@arcyhicks83356 ай бұрын
@@bradleycarroll8187True. This isn't one of Gassos' more dominant line-ups. Unlike the previous 3 they don't consistently hit for power 1 through 9. But, just like the previous 3 their OBP 1T9 is off the charts. While stranding alot of runners is a legit concern, they are consistently getting on base. Which puts pressure on opossing pitchers and defenses. For most of the season they've been able to use early missed opportunities to create later opportunities. The pitchers have struggled, but just like the offense, they've been able to bear down and close out strong. Finding ways to get around and overcome deficiencies is the hallmark of this team. I've had a lot of fun watching these kids navigate through this season. And win or lose, no one can question their hearts. 🎉

What a game!!!! Both SPs Maxwell for Oklahoma and Rothrock for Florida did not pitch that well, each giving up too many runs and it came down to which pitcher would throw a bad pitch and thankfully, it wasn't Maxwell. Kudos to OU starting pitcher Kelly Maxwell, going the distance for 7 innings and keeping her teammates in the game even though giving up 5 runs. I don't think, if OU pitchers Nicole May and Kiersten Deal were brought in at anytime, The Lady Sooners probably would have lost because May and Deal, also did not pitch well yesterday vs. Florida. What a violent collision between Florida SS Skylar Wallace and OU DP (hitter) Ella Parker at Second Base. Thanks be to Jesus, neither Wallace nor Parker were seriously hurt in the collision. The Lady Sooners finally woke up the bats BUT...... an alarming note for OU, they are still leaving way too many women on base in scoring position. OU cannot do that against the dreaded Longhorns in Game #1 of the Best of three WCWS Final (starts tomorrow night at 8pm EST) and have any chance at winning the National Championship. #BoomerSooner G🥎 🥎U! After seeing the difference in the Sooners play from game one to game two, it made me sane that the sooner is real team stayed on the bus for game one. Parker, Pickering and Hodge all came up huge in the second game. If you take Sid Sanders out of the game, you lose the best first baseman in college Softball. It's just my observation. I may be wrong but I think others would agree that sooners are leaving a lot more runners on base than usual. I don't believe that will carry water well at all against Texas. We better not have all the walks that we had the first part of game one against the Gators those usually turn into free runs. BOOMER SOONER !!!!!!!!!!!

Time stamp : 13:04 Tough call. To me there was both Obstruction AND foul play. What kind of slide was that. I've been watching these games , these girls know how to slide very well. At 13:04 you see it the best. To me it looks like she KNEW she was gunned. The runners body not only stayed up, but tilted right- right into the glove arm. Throwing both arms and ending with a headbutt to a much smaller girl. Here's the MLB rules on sliding into second. "The slide rule prohibits runners from using a "roll block" or attempting to initiate contact with the fielder by elevating and kicking his leg above the fielder's knee, throwing his arm or his upper body or grabbing the fielder. When a violation of the slide rule occurs, the offending runner and the batter-runner will be called out." Throwing her arm or her upper body. It was obstruction. It was also foul play. And since not being injured is so important AND she was gunned and this is not the MLB but women's ball. I feel like that was the wrong call. Could've fractured Skylars arm. Any umpires in here who ump at this level and know the rules much better than me have any input?
@aBeatleFan4ever6 ай бұрын
The umpire called obstruction on the SS. The collision was caused by the SS being in the wrong place (which is why obstruction was called). If anyone had been injured it would have been because of the SS. Take off your Florida colored glasses and see the play for what it was.

I've been saying the same thing for yrs. These exit velocities are just wicked. Even though I'm a guy, I don't think I'd have the guts to pitch to these girls without body armor. Earlier this season, I saw a shortstops' glove get yanked off her hand by a caught linedrive. It ended up landing close to ten ft. behind her.

Amen. Thank you. And also stop having home field advantage in Oklahoma City. It’s getting annoying. No one pays attention to the cheating for the past 3 years with this team. I say drug test after they cheat for this 4th title win. They are gonna rig it so much against Texas that I may not even watch the game. I can smell the Umps having their hands all over this for a OU 4th title run. 😢🤦♂️🤡

I wonder if people would want to move the men’s series from traditional Omaha if the Cornhuskers dominated the MCWS? There are a lot of regulation base ball stadiums but not many softball stadiums to hold the growing fan base, only OKC and OKC does it best for softball fans. It just happens that the Sooners dominate, no drugs like the weak whiners say, just great coaches and players. Texas has the team to beat this year are they on drugs too? What a weak position to take…
@arcyhicks83356 ай бұрын
@@gregsudol5986 For me, it's a safety issue. As strong and fast as these young ladies are, you can expand the field a few ft. without losing the potential for exciting high scoring games. A few years ago, college baseball deadened the bats to reduce the exit velocity. Well, they're still knocken em outa the park. The difference is that now when they hit a homer, you're not standing there thinking "OMG, where the heck did that ball go?!" 😳 And there are far less instances of pitchers nearly getting their heads taken off.

So, I said to myself(not lying but obviously can’t prove it) that Coleman was not only due for her first hit of the game, but will walk it off with a HR;)!
