I love that you recommend to ‘Use what you have’… 🎶 The baby is doing a great job on the oatmeal fingers!

Sometimes we forget how easy it is to make things at home after years of convenience! Thanks for the reminder. I have so many oats I need to use. Have you done a grits video? You have such great helpers in the kitchen!

The 3rd recipe has INSPIRED me to make for our snacks. First thing in the morning (Saturday) I'm making the cinnamon raisin oatmeal bars. I love this idea. Not only for the savings but this is a very healthy alternative to the boxed oatmeal bars or cookies or chips etc. My teen son will LOVE these. Thanks Maria ‼️

Thank you so much Maria! I’m new to your channel, and am already a huge fan.💕 I love that you used Flaxseed in these recipes. I just recently bought a bag, and have been trying to figure out a way to sneak it into recipes.😁 My son loves chewy granola bars, so I’ll be making those today. I had no idea it should be refrigerated for freshness!😳 It’s going in the fridge right now. I also love that you weigh your ingredients. I just bought a kitchen scale, and will be using it more often now.👍🏻💕

Great way to save money. Gosh I went to the IGA where I get alot of great clearance items and other things. A few weeks ago I bought a 4 pack of canned Chicken for $13.99. I thought it was a good price until I saw the same at Walmart priced $9.99. Today @ IGA it was $20.99 ! Fifty percent increase in price ! ! I will definitely be trying some of your snack recipes
@yvonnepalmquist86762 жыл бұрын
Gosh is it 9.99 now? I used to buy it for 7.98. Great for quick and convenient chicken and rice meals or homemade soups.

@@yvonnepalmquist8676 it was as of last week . I am checking this week and may get another depending on the price. I use canned Chicken not only fore but also as backup for cat food

You should try making your own vanilla extract. I was gifted a small bottle a few years ago. Decided to try it, and never looked back! It’s much cheaper, and tastier

I definitely need to try that!!

Your homemade bars are cheaper but even better they're also higher in protein, more fiber, higher calorie (which is good for growing kids- higher calorie & more fiber fills tummies & sticks with them longer) & assuming the chocolate chips & crisp rice cereal didn't have corn syrup no corn syrup. Wins all the way.
@MealsWithMaria2 жыл бұрын
I’d agree, the ingredients are just better!

Could you use like pancakes syrup?
@yvonnepalmquist86762 жыл бұрын
My grandmother used to make her own pancake syrup on the stovetop, too. Brown sugar, water, butter, vanilla. Lots of recipes online (for ratios and instructions) if you'd like to try it.

The other thing I dont understand is those little bites. Homemade mini muffins are pretty easy and probably cheaper and healthier and can be froze in baggies for convenience and then reuse those for the next batch 😀
@MealsWithMaria2 жыл бұрын
I make mini muffins all the time! Love them too and so much cheaper than the boxed kind!
@sarahl.9442 жыл бұрын
The bites are great, I've made them before. And they are a great way to use up stuff!
@future.homesteader2 жыл бұрын
Homemade is still going to be better IMO but just a PSA- if you need to get the commercial granola bars (say for an event or school that requires commercially packaged foods) they're a lot cheaper at Costco.
@janebush24782 жыл бұрын
Where I live honey is so expensive I am not sure these would be frugal for me. Much more healthy though.
