I started my Hebrew journey a couple of years ago now, and I agree with you on how rich the Tanakh, The New Testament and our revealed scriptures have come to life for me in a new way. I am slowly learning the aleph-bet, and one day would love to actually take a Hebrew class. My Hebrew eyes are opening and I see and feel closer to our God Jehovah so personally, I can't stop seeking out new things to learn of Him! Thank you for sharing these beautiful words, I knew the first 3, but Segullah was one I didn't know. The Shema is special to me too, our family learned to sign it in ASL, which helped the children to learn it. I have been eagerly awaiting the last 3 years for our OT CFM to arrive so that I can focus solely on the rich Hebrew gems within. I love that Pres Nelson has emphasized these teachings to us, thank you for sharing those quotes by him. Your podcast sounds like it's right up my alley! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!

Loved this! Thank you. I am reading "Hebrews", which, causes me to search all over many different media platforms to find what was actually "meant". There as been so much linguistic thievery over the years that it is hard to figure out what was really intended by the original author. (The book Mamma Bear Apologetics does a good job of exposing the thievery.)

Yahweh(יהוה) is not causitive. It is imperfective. The yod is the diagnostic feature which shows it is Qal imperfect 3ms. It can be rendered something like “ He will be” or “He is” or more idiomatically as “I am the God who is” or “I remain”. It looks like the verb hiyah doesn’t appear in the OT in the hiphil (causitive stem) which makes sense because ״make״ (אשה) would be more appropriate for that meaning.

Love this explanation. I have been feeling impressions come and go in regards to this commandment, but never had the right words to express. Your description seems to tie in with the whisperings I received. When we make oaths (like the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood) would you say that "misusing" the Priesthood is another way we take the Lord's name in vain? As in when we pronounce blessings in His name unworthily? Much like partaking of the sacrament unworthily?

If you say --- "I said a prayer for forgiveness." "I confessed for forgiveness." "I believed for forgiveness." "I repented for forgiveness." "I was baptized for forgiveness." Then sadly you have fallen for the five I's just like Satan. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, it's believing they already ARE! To be saved, you must first get "I" out of the way.
