the sad part about the Gotlanders is they knew they’d lose, they were fighting to give their women and children time to escape. that is what Shakespeare means by “we few, we happy few” although the original text isn’t about this battle the sentiment is the same. to die in the cause of something bigger than yourself in and of itself is a death worth having and to meet your end bravely and with purpose.

After a battle, with 1,000’s of dead laying in a huge area….who actually did the work with the dead? Was it the soldiers who had just fought in the battle or was it other people appointed to this? So many, many bodies. I can’t imagine how they organized it all. Bless these people who lived in this time. Such brutal fighting.

The Egyptians used scribes. They'd cut off the right hand of each dead man and count to ensure numbers were accurate. We still have a lot of their records.

It's so easy, skip all the way to the end, let it play out then hit the replay button! No ads at all and yes, wonderful to fall asleep to! It works for every video on KZbin for those who don't know ... Like I said... skip to the end of the video let it play out on its own then hit the replay button!!! This works for every KZbin video. I promise you won't have anymore ads!!! Sweet dreams everyone

great video! i really enjoyed the relaxing vibe throughout. but honestly, i think the whole concept of falling asleep to archaeology finds is a bit odd. isn’t archaeology more exciting when you’re awake and actively engaging with the discoveries? just a thought!

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plains?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

It's over there between the land and the sky is so classic. Mrs Richards! Your glasses are there. In there? Well who put them in there? And then to polly, "didn't God give you eyes?" Polly: "yes, but I don't use them because it wears the batteries down."

Can you make actual sleep videos and lower the music, and equalize the sound level? I guess that would take work instead of just editing shows together, but if you advertise a video made for sleep, people may be misguided about the content. As soon as the music started, I knew this was not really a sleep video, but just a compilation of awesome documentaries. Which is great, but maybe title the videos more accurately so we don't waste time searching for sleep videos.

29 minutes in… lol am I supposed to believe that is a real dig site? Ha ha big boulders around zero dirt pile, no flags or tags anywhere? Only 3 people there? Perfectly dug square and just that morning found something of significance! Lol! Are we supposed to be stupid? No tape? No photography? No measurement posts? No field team? No tools? No equipment? Just some non sweaty dudes in jumpers not dirty at all. No notebooks or laptops? Not a single pencil and paper? Brother, dig sites are messy disorganized camps of chaos. I can’t believe anyone filmed this and said “yes” the idiots will believe! 😂

Metal detecting on battlefields without archeologists is a crime. If this guy learned how to use metal detectors on medieval battlefields before he started working with archeologists, than he was an artifact poacher. If you see someone on a revolutionary war or civil war battlefield, using a metal detector, call the cops. I'm not sure about British law but I imagine it's similar and using a metal detector on a historic battlefield is a crime unless they are with an authorized archeologist.

For the usa it's true. So many artifacts from one occupation to another. Too many to preserve from overlapping military occupations and habitation.. they are located and because they do not have the money and or the man power .. the UK government will burry the site . When there is something discovered of significant value the antiquities dpt. Will investigate and handle it.
