as a KU fan im glad they won, but dont understand the over rated chant..we gotta be better than that..Houston is not over rated..KU is just really hard to beat in AFH..wouldnt shock me if they return the favor in Houston in the 2nd match up

I think the vast majority of KU fans agree. Apologies for the chant. Forgive them for they know not what they do..... I hope Coach Self addresses that this week. They won't think that chant is so cool when it's coming from Houston fans after the last game of the regular season. Not a classy thing to do. Rock Chalk!!

I never thought I'd hear that at AFH. I am disappointed and ashamed. This truly angered me to the point of shouting at the TV. Good luck down the stretch, and stay healthy.

@@will-zj5gq I CARE! It's about respect for the opponent and the game itself. In my world, Allen Field House is sacred ground. This was the equivalent of dropping F-bombs at church on Sunday to me. Its stupid to say the team you just beat isn't as good as their ranking. That means you didn't need to be that good to beat them. It's just dumb, and accomplishes nothing good. We live in an age when winning isn't enough. Sportsmanship is out of style. Folks feel they have to knock others down to raise themselves. To some of us, dignity, honor, respect, and sportsmanship still mean something. Trash talk on the court is a different animal.

The Cougars clinched the Big 12 regular-season title outright just before the game began by virtue of Kansas State's win over Iowa State, but in dismantling the league's bully they left no doubt about their status as outright -- and emphatic -- champs. Houston extended its home winning streak to 22 games, the longest active streak in college basketball. The Cougars led wire to wire and held KU to its lowest scoring output of the season and fewest points scored in a Big 12 game since 2000.

"Overrated" chant at AFH?! WTF? Never thought I'd hear THAT from Jayhawk fans. We're better than that. Not only is it disrespectful to our opponent, it's bush league, unclassy, and plain stupid. Saying your opponent is overrated takes away from our own performance and accomplishment. When we play like that, no one is beating us. We have to play Houston on the road in our final regular season game. Guess what their fuel is going to be now? It's just dumb to poke the bear. Especially when you have to go into his den next time. Cease and desist with this classless chant. I am ashamed and disappointed. You tarnished this great win. Be better. This was a great win over a very worthy opponent deserving of their ranking. Most of the mess this nation is currently in right now is because a great number of people chose to do the wrong thing, ignoring historical norms in favor of vitriol. This is not that, but it is one of a number of symptoms of what led to it. It's chipping away of values like sportsmanship. I had naively believed that it would never go this far at Kansas. At least not in the Field House. For a lot of folks it has been the epitome of all that is good in sports. Fans that know the game. Fans that don't boo the refs when the calls against us are correct. Fans that give huge applause to opponent players who give remarkable performances there. Have you heard parents at childrens sports events lately? We are being desensitized to bad behavior. "F&ck thy neighbor" is no way to live. Where do you draw the line? I guarantee that I am not alone on this.

@@aaronkamakaze2967 That was an impressive performance! Houston was locked in for the full 40 minutes. They earned it. They rightfully, are the Big12 champions. I'll be rooting for them in the big dance. I guess we saw/listened to different games. They did, in fact, give the overrated chant. No big deal. It's like seeing someone else's kid being disrespectful. It's not your problem. Having that at AFH is a big deal TO ME and many other fans. We expect to hear it when we get beat on the road. Just not for us to be chanting it at home. You do you. I just don't like hearing it in that building, which I consider to be a sacred place.

As a Houston fan that was at the game......I've never seen a team shoot that well before. If you look at the team stats you would think Houston lost by 30+. Hawks got some ballers
