All things come to an end. Just depends on how you lived your life, or in this case, used the pencil. When that time comes, what will the pencil look like? Is the eraser gone but most of the pencil is there? Is pencil used up but the eraser is still good? Meaning, did you make a lot of mistakes where the was no chance of recovery or did you just keep writing through life not making any or fixing mistakes? I guess a good balance would be both sides coming to an end as close as the same time as possible...
