the AD made his statement about cal during the offseason with calipari, he wants improvements and wants it now. he will happily snatch that lifetime contract out of his hands. he’s been doing it since the beginning of time, recruiting big names and only coaching individually and not as one. Oscar should’ve left last year to the NBA, waste of his time. and i’m still wondering why stoops got another extension with 2 horrible recent Ls, especially if he’s gonna keep his horrible staff
@carsonc292 жыл бұрын
Stoops got his contract extended because he has gotten UK to a bowl in 7 straight seasons...UK will never be a FB school..so its fan base better not start expecting 10 wins seasons on a regular basis...as far as Cal..at this point, this is what he is....his OAD was working great when he was able to get any player he wanted..now he misses A LOT more than he lands..he can no longer simply out talent every oppenent...he could fix that by recruiting lower rated players that he knows will stay 3-4 years and develop..but he the fan base would flip out if they suddenly stopped landing all these 5 star recruits...

I was at the game. And I am a big Gonzaga fan. I was happy they won. However, based on the eye test. It appeared they played a near perfect game. Yet, Kentucky got within a couple baskets. I could see that Kentucky was not on their best game. I'm concerned the zags don't have a true point guard. I finally realized why they haven't impressed me before this game. It's because most of their baskets are coming from broken plays. Whereas last year, they scored more often on set plays. Lots of successful picks, and cutting, etc. Many more easy baskets last year. It also appears teams are better prepared to slow the zags down By not letting them control the pace of play. I hope Mark Few makes the adjustments very soon. Lots of tough games coming soon. Gonzagas style of game takes an excellent point guard to thrive. This is the first year in quite awhile, where they don't have that person.

@@nathanrasmussen2917 the game closed to a four point margin. And Kentucky had momentum. The crowd was very concerned, until the last minute.

They won by about the same amount over Kentucky as they lost by to Texas. Would Texas then be expected to beat Kentucky by 36? That was some considerable distance from a perfect Zag performance. March will tell the tale.
@IaintAI-m9d2 жыл бұрын
@@robertjohnson1962 you can't measure perform by margin of victory. Home court had a huge role in these two games. As well as all teams learning how to play together. No need to debate. Just opine. March will settle everything.

@@IaintAI-m9d I sense we are both Zag fans and can only hope we play at the end of the Season better than we did against Texas or Kentucky. Our guard play is sketchy and rim protection sporadic especially without Chet. Way too many turnovers and I agree with you, not enough scoring on fast breaks. In summary, you are great and I bid you adieu.

This is the second game where I have seen the ball up heading towards the backboard and it is blocked and the officials call it goal-tending. Someone help me out, My understanding of the rule is that if the ball hits the glass and then is blocked that's goal-tending.

@JacksonPM232 жыл бұрын
@@carsonc29 They cant though. They've only had to compete with elite teams 4-7 games a year. Texas isnt even close to the best big 12 team and they blew them out by 20+, they wouldnt survive in the big 12 or ACC...neither could Kentucky.
