I love you Sheikh but I absolutely do not agree with you on this issue of Khilafat and Kingship. There are hadith in Bukhari and Muslim which you didn’t mention and which go against Banu Ummaya. Muawiya RA is under the spotlight and rightly so. His Ijtahad was absolutely wrong. He didn’t give the decision to the shura of the remaining sahabas. He appointed his son which is absolutely against Islam. Allah knows best. But we love Muawiya RA for being a Sahabi of Rasoolullah SAWW. Ali RA and Muawiya RA did have issues and Ali RA never forgave Muawiya RA and left the issue to Allah at the day of judgement.

Yazeed was a better candidate for khalifat than Hussan? Muawiya appointed his son as a kahkifa to unite umma even though rule by liniage isn't allowed? Hassan gave up on khilafat to unite umma in favour of Muawia even though he was better suited to be a khalifa? I'm listening to this for the first time ever, I need more reseach. Something doesn't srack up right. I love Seikh too

@@reptilespit4433 Hassan did agree to give rule to Mu'awiyah on the condition that he becomes Caliph after, as Mu'awiyah was an old man by then. Unfortunately hassan passed away before Mu'awiyah. Mu'awiyah had been fighting alongside Yazid and they both were scoring victories in Jihad against the byzantine, maybe this deluded Mu'awiyah into thinking yazid would be a good candidate for caliphate. If the Caliph wants to choose a successor they must be approved by shura or counselling, and around 60-80 sahabah agreed to pledge allegiance to yazid, however history disputes whether they were forced to or not

Stop speaking ill of any of the sahabah. The prophet clearly prohibit this in many narrations. This mindset is what led to the creation of misguided sects. There is no animosity between Ali and Muawiya in the authentic narrations. This is a lie fabricated by the rafidha backed up by weak and fabricated narrations. Also a Khalifa appointing a successor has been done before. Abu Bakr appointing Umar as an example. So Muawiya appointing Yazid is in accordance to the righteous predecessors. Wether he is right or wrong in the eyes of Allah, Allah knows best. Either way, Muawiya still gets the rewards of trying his best.

that Ibn `Abbas told him and `Ali bin `Abdullah to go to Abu Sa`id and listen to some of his narrations; So they both went (and saw) Abu Sa`id and his brother irrigating a garden belonging to them. When he saw them, he came up to them and sat down with his legs drawn up and wrapped in his garment and said, "(During the construction of the mosque of the Prophet) we carried the adobe of the mosque, one brick at a time while `Ammar used to carry two at a time. The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by `Ammar and removed the dust off his head and said, "May Allah be merciful to `Ammar. He will be killed by a rebellious aggressive group. `Ammar will invite them to (obey) Allah and they will invite him to the (Hell) fire."

Amazes me to see how the same person can be so logical and straightforward with his arguments when it comes to Dawah with the non-Muslims. And then turning around speaking about inter-islamic topics and be so unlogical and childish. I am 99% sure he does not believe himself what he is saying. He just says it because he relies on his ummayad ulama and clings to these arguments like clinging on a small thread. Any historian with a bachelors degree analyzing the sources can smell these ummayad riwayat trying to portray muawiya and his followers in a good light. Later ummayad scholars even going further and distorting an even inventing riwayat to make it look like Muawiya had good relations with al-Hassan.

It’s clear you come here to cause problems, you don’t pay attention to the lecture. You provide no proofs on your claims at all. Historians with Bachelors? You mean historians who studied under the supervision of orientalists that takes any proof that support their claim for their feeble attempt trying to dismantle this pure religion of Islam regardless of authenticity? Also, who are these Ummayad Scholars are you talking about?

Asalām-Alaykum. If I remember correctly, Umar bin Al-Khattāb denied for his son to be amongst the candidates to become the Khalīfa. He didn't wanted his son to become the Khalīfa so he assigned him as an advisor. As the others present were in the Shūra (consultation), ibn Umar was only an advisor and thus not amongst them as a candidate. Allāhu Wā'lam, Allāh Knows and I know not. You can re-view the previous videos regarding Sheikh Uthmān explaining this.

If only you knew how long I have been waiting for lectures on Islamic history post the 4 caliphs, baaraka Allahu feek! If you are so kind to answer a couple of questions dear sheikh: 1: doesnt the khalifah have to be from Quraish? 2: what is the ruling on me playing dice games with my small kids? The dice dont even have numbers, rather colors but obviously we still have to toss the dice and play according to the colour we dice. I ask Allah to give you the best in this life and the hereafter

Asalām-Alaykum. 1. The Khalīfa does not has to be from the tribal lineage of the Quraish, there are certain conditions applied in Sharī'ah for the selection of the new Khālīfa. 2. It is prohibited and impermissible to play dice with or without betting. We can see this strictly being prohibited from amongst the Sahāba and even by the mother of the believers, A'ishā. Abdullāh ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As said: _"Someone who plays dice for a bet is like a person who eats pig meat. Someone who plays it without betting is like someone who washes his hands in pig's blood."_ Source: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, authenticated by Sheikh Albānī. Abdullāh is the son of Amr bin Al-A'as, a famous and a well known Sahābī, praised by the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. It is also mentioned in the Muwatta of Imām Mālik that the honoured and pious A'ishā had some people who lived in a room of her house, they had with them dice. She sent a message to them that if they don't remove the dices, they will be removed from the house. Finally to mention, in the Muwatta of Imām Mālik, Abdullāh bin Umar, the son of the beloved and righteous companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Umar bin Al-Khattāb. He beat his family member upon seeing that he had a dice and he destroyed the dice.

I will also leave one last Hadīth, the words of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ upon the playing of dice, it is in the Muwatta of Imām Mālik. The Muwatta of Imām Mālik has only authentic Ahadīth, all of them verified. Narrated Abū Mūsa Al-Ash'arī: _"The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Whoever plays games of dice has disobeyed Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ.'_

Asalām-Alaykum. He was correct in regards to the Sunnāh of Abū Bakr and Umar bin Al-Khattāb being that the son of Khalīfa will not be chosen as this was an unjust practice, committed by the disbelievers. However, the decision of Mu'āwiyā of the selection of his son as the next Khalīfa was not based upon this, it was due to prevent the Ummah from dividing from rebellious acts as the entirety of the Ummah were delighted and had no issues with Mu'āwiyā or his son Yazīd.

Khalid said: Al-Miqdam ibn Madikarib and a man of Banu Asad from the people of Qinnisrin went to Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan. Muawiyah said to al-Miqdam: Do you know that al-Hasan ibn Ali has died? Al-Miqdam recited the Quranic verse We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. Muawiyah asked him: Do you think it a calamity? He replied: Why should I not consider it a calamity when it is a fact that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to take him on his lap, saying: This belongs to me and Husayn belongs to Ali? The man of Banu Asad said: (He was) a live coal which Allah has extinguished. Al-Miqdam said: Today I shall continue to make you angry and make you hear what you dislike. He then said: Muawiyah, if I speak the truth, declare me true, and if I tell a lie, declare me false. He said: Do so. He said: I adjure you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbidding use to wear gold? He replied: Yes. He said: I swear by Allah, I saw all this in your house, O Muawiyah. Muawiyah said: I know that I cannot be saved from you, O Miqdam. Khalid said: Muawiyah then ordered to give him what he did not order to give to his two companions, and gave a stipend of two hundred (dirhams) to his son. Al-Miqdam then divided it among his companions, and the man of Banu Asad did not give anything to anyone from the property he received. When Muawiyah was informed about it, he said: Al-Miqdam is a generous man; he has an open hand (for generosity). The man of Banu Asad withholds his things in a good manner. Sunnan e Abu Dawood#4131 Status: صحیح Muslim 4776 ....................He who swears allegiance to a Caliph should give him the piedge of his hand and the sincerity of his heart (i. e. submit to him both outwardly as well as inwardly). He should obey him to the best of his capacity. It another man comes forward (as a claimant to Caliphate), disputing his authority, they (the Muslims) should behead the latter. The narrator says: I came close to him ('Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As) and said to him: Can you say on oath that you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ )? He pointed with his hands to his ears and his heart and said: My ears heard it and my mind retained it. I said to him: This cousin of yours, Mu'awiya, orders us to unjustly consume our wealth among ourselves and to kill one another, while Allah says: O ye who believe, do not consume your wealth among yourselves unjustly, unless it be trade based on mutual agreement, and do not kill yourselves. Verily, God is Merciful to you (iv. 29). The narrator says that (hearing this) Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-As kept quiet for a while and then said: Obey him in so far as he is obedient to God; and diqobey him in matters involving disobedience to God. Bukhari 4108 ............Muawiya addressed the people saying, 'If anybody wants to say anything in this matter of the Caliphate, he should show up and not conceal himself, for we are more rightful to be a Caliph than he and his father. On that, Habib bin Masalama said (to Ibn `Umar), Why don't you reply to him (i.e. Muawiya)? `Abdullah bin `Umar said, I untied my garment that was going round my back and legs while I was sitting and was about to say, 'He who fought against you and against your father for the sake of Islam, is more rightful to be a Caliph,' but I was afraid that my statement might produce differences amongst the people and cause bloodshed, and my statement might be interpreted not as I intended. (So I kept quiet) remembering what Allah has prepared in the Gardens of Paradise (for those who are patient and prefer the Hereafter to this worldly life). Habib said, You did what kept you safe and secure (i.e. you were wise in doing so).

40:00 See how nice was Marwan bin Hakam was to a Sahabi: Narrated Yusuf bin Mahak: Marwan had been appointed as the governor of Hijaz by Muawiya. He delivered a sermon and mentioned Yazid bin Muawiya so that the people might take the oath of allegiance to him as the successor of his father (Muawiya). This is so unfounded and unsubstantiated at 30:00 . It is tantamount to being nonsense in my view. Of cos Hussain (ra) had leadership qualities. It’s amazing the sheikh would appear to stick to the “salafi” narrative rather than being objective in his assessment and analysis from the original sources. Hussain (رضي الله عنه) had leadership qualities. To suggest otherwise is dumbfounded. I respect the sheikh for anyone who thinks I’m attacking him. The overwhelming leaning on excuses justifying this in itself indicative of the unfair bias narrative especially against Hassan & Hussain (رضي الله عنه).

How so? Being from good lineage does not automatically make you leader? The Shaykh point is valid, listen to it again. He is not saying Hussain r.a. was a bad leader or would've been, he is saying the ppl of Iraq would not accept bc he did not have history of being leader before.

May Allah guid us he says that Mohammad Ibn hanifiya praise yazeed which is not true this narration is not in any hadeeth book . This narration is in Al bidaya wal nihaya which is a tareekh book written by ibn kathir this narration is no sanad in it. Ibn kathir died in 774AH and he not tell the narrator of this narration on all of that he is telling the half of narration the full narration is Abdullah ibn mutti RA which is a companion he travel to meet yazid in sham their he sees that yazeed is a alcoholic person and miss salat most of time and when he returns to madina he tells to the people madina what he sees when this reech to Mohamad ibn hanifiya he says I also travel with yazeed but I don't see anything like you see than the ashab of Abdullah ibn mutti said to Mohamad ibn hanifiya that he just make you shaw that he was praying on time and follow sunnah but this is not true Abdullah ibn mutti spend more time than you with yazeed. For the shake of argument if you assume this narration is true than we take the call of a companion who is Abdullah ibn mutti here not from the Tabee who is Mohamad ibn hanifiya here. Look his fabrication and how he make up lies may Allah guid us all ameen🤲

50:00 THIS IS HOW MU'AWIYAH (RA) DID TAAZIYAH OF THE DEATH OF HASAN (RA) : Khalid said: Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib and a man of Banu Asad from the people of Qinnisrin went to Mu'awiyah ibn AbuSufyan. Mu'awiyah said to al-Miqdam: Do you know that al-Hasan ibn Ali has died? Al-Miqdam recited the Qur'anic verse "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return." A man (i.e. Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan) asked him: Do you think it a calamity? He replied: Why should I not consider it a calamity when it is a fact that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to take him on his lap, saying: This belongs to me and Husayn belongs to Ali? The man of Banu Asad said: (He was) a live coal which Allah has extinguished. Al-Miqdam said: Today I shall continue to make you angry and make you hear what you dislike. He then said: Mu'awiyah, if I speak the truth, declare me true, and if I tell a lie, declare me false. He said: Do so. He said: I adjure you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbidding use to wear gold? He replied: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prohibited the wearing of silk? He replied: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prohibited the wearing of the skins of beasts of prey and riding on them? He said: Yes. He said: I swear by Allah, I saw all this in your house, O Mu'awiyah. Mu'awiyah said: I know that I cannot be saved from you, O Miqdam. Khalid said: Mu'awiyah then ordered to give him what he did not order to give to his two companions, and gave a stipend of two hundred (dirhams) to his son. Al-Miqdam then divided it among his companions, and the man of Banu Asad did not give anything to anyone from the property he received. When Mu'awiyah was informed about it, he said: Al-Miqdam is a generous man; he has an open hand (for generosity). The man of Banu Asad withholds his things in a good manner.

1.Letter from Roman Empire to Mu’awiyyah: *GOOGLE MU’AWIYAH’S LETTER TO THE ROMANS* ‏Ibn Katheer, may Allah have mercy upon him, mentioned in Al-Bidaayah wa nihayyah: “The Byzantine Emperor had great hopes of attacking and defeating Mu’aawiyah after the latter had instilled fear in him and humiliated him and vanquished his troops. When the Byzantine Emperor saw that Mu’aawiyah was preoccupied with fighting ‘Ali, he approached some cities (on the border) with a huge army, filled with hope of victory. So Mu’aawiyah wrote to him saying, 'By Allah, if you do not desist and go back to your land, O cursed one, I shall reconcile with my cousin and we will unite against you, and I shall certainly expel you from all of your land! I shall keep pursuing you, and the earth, vast as it is, will be straitened for you.' At that, the Byzantine Emperor was scared off and abandoned his plans; he sent word seeking a peace treaty.” 2.Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Paradise is granted to the first batch of my followers who will undertake a naval expedition." Um Haram added, I said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Will I be amongst them?' He replied, 'You are amongst them.' The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, 'The first army amongst' my followers who will invade Caesar's City will be forgiven their sins.' (Sahih Bukhari 2924) This Hadith is about Mu’awiyyah in which the prophet told us about a conquest of Cyprus in the year 647. (فتح الباري ابن حجر volume 6, page 127) Conquest of Cypress When Uthman became the Caliph, Amir Muawiyah reported his proposal to undertake a naval expedition and conquer Cypress. Muawiyah advanced detailed arguments in favor of his proposal. Uthman agreed to the proposal, but laid down the condition that only such persons should participate in the naval expedition who volunteered themselves, and no person should be forced to join the expedition against his will. Muawiyah fitted a strong naval fleet under the command of Abdullah b Qais. Another fleet was sent by Abdullah b Abi Sarah from Egypt. Muawiyah raised a force of volunteers. Among other persons, the volunteers included eminent companions like Abu Dhar Ghifari, Ubadah b Samit, his wife Umm Haraam, Abu Darda and Shaddad b Aus. The Muslim force landed on Cypress in 649 C.E. There was only a small Byzantine garrison on the island which was overpowered without any difficulty. The islanders submitted to the Muslims, and agreed to pay a tribute of 7,000 dinars per year. The conquest of Cypress was the first naval conquest of the Muslims. When the conquest of the island was reported to Uthman he felt satisfied with the result of the first naval expedition. That made Uthman feel that the fears of Umar about naval warfare were unfounded, ano that in future the Muslims would have to conduct campaigns on the sea as well as the land. He accordingly permitted Muawiyah as well as Abdullah b Abi Sarah to build up strong navies in Syria and Egypt. 3.Mu’awiyyah confesses he’s not after khilafa and does not object to the fact that Ali is closer to the prophet than him. Also admits he’ll be the first to swear allegiance to Ali. (Ibn katheer, bidayah wan nihayyah, volume 7, page 283) “I know that Ali is better than me, and deserves this (khilafa) more than me” [Authenticated by Ibn Hajar in Fath Al Bari (13/92)] 4. Ali was asked about the dead from the battle of Siffin so he answered: Our Dead and Their dead are in Heaven, and the matter will be between me and Muawiyah. (Isnad Sahih). -Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 39035 5. Prophet peace be upon him said about: “O’ Allah, make him guided, a guider, and guide people through him.” [Sunan Al-Turmidhi, Book of "Virtues," Chapter of "Virtues of Mu'awiyah," #3842, see also Saheeh Al-Turmidhi #3018] 6.Writer of the revelation: “It is a firm thing that Mu’awiyah was among the writers of the revelation. Muslim narrated in his Saheeh from Ibn Abbas that Abu Sufyan asked the prophet peace be upon him for three things: (He (Abu Sufyan) said to the prophet: “O’ Prophet of Allah, give me three things.” The prophet said: “yes.” … Abu Sufyan said: “Mu’awiyah, make him a writer (of the revelation) under your hands.” The prophet answered: “Alright.”) [Muslim with explanation. Book of "Virtues of the Companions," Chapter of "Virtues of Abu Sufyan," vol.17, p.2501] Ahmad narrated in his Musnad, and Muslim from Ibn Abbas who says: (Once I was a kid playing with other boys when I looked behind and I saw the prophet peace be upon him coming towards us. So I said: “The prophet did not come to anyone but to me.” So I went behind the door to hide. I did not feel until the prophet found me, grasped my neck, and pressed my shoulders gently. The prophet said: “Go and call Mu’awiyah for me.” And Mu’awiyah was his writer (of the revelation). So I went looking for Mu’awiyah and told him: “Go and answer the prophet of Allah peace be upon him because he needs you.”) [Musnad Ahmed, vol.1, Musnad Ibn Abbas #2651, and Muslim with explanation, Book of "Al-Birr wa Al-Silah," #2604] These two hadeeths prove that Mu’awiyah was one of the writers of the revelation.” 7.Prophet (peace be upon him) was married to Mu’awiyyahs sister, Umm Habibah. The prophet was the bother in law to Mu’awiyyah. 8. Narrated Ibn Abi Mulaika: Somebody said to Ibn ‘Abbas, “Can you speak to the chief of the believers Muwaiya, as he does not pray except one Rak’a as Witr?” Ibn ‘Abbas replied, “He is a faqih (i.e. a learned man who can give religious verdicts) .[Bukhari Book #57, Hadith #109] 9.Mu’awiyyah accepted Islam at the treaty of hudaybiyyah and hid his Islam whilst he was in Mecca. Then, when the Muslims conquered Mecca he expressed his Islam openly. (Mu’awiyyah bin Abi Sufian, سير أعلام النبلاء, volume 3, page 122) Allah says about the Muslims at the conquest of Mecca: “Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to ***ALL***has promised the best [reward]. And Allah, of what you do, is Aware.”(57:10)

Being from Sunni school myself, I can state it's a shamefully water down account and doesn't reflect the Narrative we find in Sunni books of Ahadeeth. Cherry picked points, Bogus drum of "Ijtihad and brushing all clever and mean political choices made to gain and hold Power under carpet of "Ijtihad" and giving wild-card clean chit just because someone saw Prophet in their lifetime doesn't add up. "Awwalu man bagha...." The first Baghi / Rebel against Khalifa Rashid Ali r.a was Muawiyay r.a. We don't insult them and leave matters to Allah swt. But we don't go overboard to defend blunders as it's against our Books of Ahadeeth itself.
