@@tjon8570 I think we've always qualified for European football apart from Moyes' season. Managers are sacked for various reasons but always involve failing to progress in the league. Ten hag went from 3rd to 8th despite having more control and spending more than all previous managers. Winning the cup won't make a difference. His fate is decided.

I they get Tommy Tuchel in instead of TH, they’re stupid. I’m absolutely devastated. I was just getting buzzing for what ETH would be trying to do next season. Agile CBs A baller in front of them. Fullbacks pushing. More forward fire. It wasn’t just injuries that were the problem. The season was left in total disarray. Including him being the left with Maguire and McTominay that he was asking to be moved on. There is nothing there as a replacement that is more inspiring than giving him what he asked for.

McKenna shouldn't be in the conversation. He's got one season as gaffer under his belt. He won promotion into the EPL, not the Champion's League. This has come far too early for him. He's a talented coach with links to United so he should be observed as a potential United manager several years down the line. Tuchel has a reputation as a winner but also as someone who struggles with diplomacy with players. I'd probably pick Poch but I'm not even sure if Ten Hag should go. If he does go however, Poch hopefully gets the job.

I'm not sure if I'd be excited to see that short list for a cashier job at Tesco. Frank would be an embarrassment, Poch is spoiled milk now at 2 clubs, Tuchel has pros and cons, and Mick is doing well but is very green. @@daleward4260 we lost the Europa final 11-10 on penalties because our keeper missed. It's not like we were destroyed. Also, winning a poxy league cup is hardly a decent return for a £400m investment. How can you want Ten Hag to stay because the structure wasn't right, but rate Ole as being worse when the structure was worse. Ten Hag worked under Arnold and spent a lot of money on targets he actually wanted, while Ole worked under Woodward and was told who he could have. I'm not saying we should go back to Ole/McKenna, but I definitely don't want to waste yet another season with ten hag just to prove what is already clear.

@@chriser555 yeah, i agree that wasn't his finest hour. But the team was burnt out. Don't forget we had a very long season. COVID meant the season started late and games were crammed up to get through the fixture lists. We got to the league cup semi finals and fa cup quarter finals which just added to the congestion. It was just too many games and Ole didn't have much depth to rotate the players. They were done by that final. But Villarreal were not an easy side to beat, emery was their manager and as I said they didn't outplay us, it was stalemate and we lost on penalties.
