Edinburgh castle is mostly a fortification so not so many fancy inside rooms as you would get in other residential castles around the country. A lot of tourists think they are all the same but no, this one was for defence!

I took an Irish-girl up to the castle once and we were going through the books with the names of soldiers who'd served or died in WW1 as she had a great-grandfather who she was sure had served in the british-army - it took ages but finally she found his name and said - 'See - another poor Irish-man forced to fight for YOUR army !' (she used to jokingly say I was british - I'm not, I'm Scottish - only !) but as she was jumping about celebrating I looked at his details - unfortunately for my friend, his name WASN'T there for details of his service, it was there in a list titled - 'List of soldiers hung/shot for deserting' - oh how I laughed - Scotland 1 Ireland 0 😊 Another good video, ladies, especially of the Park/Arthur Seat - I must've covered every blade of grass there in my youth !
