I had no idea Perrier was slowly but surely creeping up on me while recording, such a goofball 😂 Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

I am using Artfacts for a long time already and I am always excited to reveal new ranking after adding new exhibitions to my profile. I regularly watch your advice, although some local market specifics do not allow me to follow it entirely - such as a "NO" to adding an e-shop on the artist portfolio web site.... but in general I am grateful for your inspiration.

Artifacts: I don’t get it because I was part of some big exhibitions in museums which had a lot of press with my name mentioned, but non of these ever made it into artfacts. They have only listed one exhibition of mine, which took place in a smaller project space. Can you explain how this works?

These all seem really great sites and I've bookmarked all of them. But it seems these are more useful and appropriate for artists who have enough resources to pursue the western/global art scene. I come from a country that's not really considered a major hub for fine art.

Hi there, you are absolutely right. But must tools are free or very cheap. Only Artfacts is rather expensive if you go for a paid subscription, but even with a free account it can be a tremendous resource.

I signed up for artenda but find its actually not usefull for people living in Australia. There are quite a few residencies and competitions that I know of and none of them are on their site, im not quite sure why. I have emailed them about the ones that I know of, but am a bit disappointed with the infos for Tasmanian and Australian artist.
@contemporaryartissue
@contemporaryartissue Жыл бұрын
Hi Aleksandra, thank you for your comment. Artenda does filter the art contests a lot. Australia has a lot of galleries and competitions that are "living on an island", so to speak. I advise you when applying for art contests or simply working on your network as an artist, to be aware not to get stuck in such an island. There has been a very important study on the mobility of art careers that explains this very thoroughly. I'll share it here for your interest: www.magnusresch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Quantifying-Reputation-and-Success-in-Art-Science-Paper-Magnus-Resch.pdf Nevertheless, thank you for tuning in once more and good luck!

Hi, what do you think about having a stage name? My name is Federico Stocco and my stage name is xenofede. I’m studying visual arts in venice, and your videos are extremely important.
@ben-km6uu
@ben-km6uu Жыл бұрын
Use your real name it makes you/your work easier to connect with than just a stage name. Works well in entertainment and showmanship but visual arts is different, and only very few can pull of stage name and that has to tie in with their work (Banksy being anonymous, Futura 2000 coming from grafitti culture etc.)
@contemporaryartissue

Hi Federico, thank you for tuning in and for tuning. Ben answered your question well. Having a stage name includes some risks-you risk there will be confusion, some might think its not professional, and others will find it more difficult to find you online.

@@contemporaryartissue Hello, your content is supreme ! we have what is being called here a "stage name" but would rather call it a pseudonym . It is @Duealberi and yes it has always been a doubt if it was right or wrong to go in this direction. So far it worked, but it's alwats relative. It's from a project that started of combined artwork of 2 artists since more than 10 years. You never stop learning though. It is always interesting to see how this may affect collectors.

dear artist, as regards "artfacts" please remember that being an artist is to live in a realm of freedom that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with "rankings"...."up" is the opposite of "down" and "artist" is the opposite of "rankings"....beware c.a.i. always remember they are the "art-market" which of course, has nothing to do with the making of art and the nature of being an artist...
