I have to say you did as good a job as I’ve ever seen in giving a fair assessment of each manufacturers product and not pushing yours over the others but the benefits of the Fiorentino are easy to see.

We appreciate your comment. Fiorentino always believes in transparency and consistently strives to reach that goal.

I've seen the Fiorentino Para-Anchor at boat shows and it's like a work of art.

I have one of your original models. as well as seabrake and Gale Rider. I teach at Kennedy Point Maritime School (kpmaritime.org). We will be producing a video soon on the equipment we use on our boat and how we deploy it. Thank you for making these products and for making the video's. It helps.

Hello, A nicely done video. In fairness, I think it might be well to mention that on the Para Tech sea anchor, each of the shrouds (which are tapes) run all the way from the perimeter to the center of the apex. A different approach than the one that Fiorentino takes, but it would seem equally valid. And, by the way, I have no connection with any para anchor manufacturer.

+JJ Fleck The “tapes” are necessary because Para-Tech uses lightweight fabric for their canopy, anywhere from 2.2 to 4 ounce nylon. Published product failure in the DDDB book is likely why Para-Tech started using the “tapes.” “Tapes” can help reduce breakage for thinner fabrics and possibly spread out loading. Fiorentino uses an 8 ounce nylon fabric to reduce wear so “tapes” are unnecessary for our equipment. The extra number of eight-strand shroud lines Fiorentino places onto their canopy also spreads out loading, resulting in a longer-lasting parachute canopy. I know nothing about the use of these, so forgive my question: In a Major Storm (Fastnet/Sydney etc.) with a broken mast could one of these be deployed off the front to help survivability?
@ParaAnchors7 жыл бұрын
The answer is yes. Para-anchors have a long track history of success since the late 1940's. You can read about the development of the modern para-anchor right here: paraanchor.com/reports/Para-Anchor.pdf Currently, many US Coast Guard cutters carry the Fiorentino para-anchor as well as the Shark drogue lending additional support to their viability.

How much with 400 GRT

How much what? Actual weight and volume of a vessel impacts loading and size of equipment used for either fishing or safety.

could your chute be used on a fast boat 150 mph?
@ParaAnchors8 жыл бұрын
Fiorentino successfully stopped a power vessel traveling at 56 mph in 1.6 seconds. Fiorentino’s para-anchor was completely intact with zero signs of damage. Could we stop a fast boat at 150 mph? Likely, it depends on intended use. Intended use determines if a shock load dampening system is required or not.
