One thing I've always done is assume most pilots turn right, 90% of the time I'm correct. Most people are right handed and feel more comfortable turning in that direction. This can really help anticipate your angle of attack and alot of times I feel like I might be turning too much just to end up right behind them. Of course there is that 10%. This works very well against head to head, I'll usually start a high yo-yo even before I pass my opponent head on. Break left and dive back to the right for the perfect angle. Add that with incediary rounds, game over. On public servers my dogfights usually last no more than three or four manouvers.

Nice tips, thanks Skywalker, I have watched most of your flight schools but there is always a fighter behind me that kills me in seconds
@johnv98547 жыл бұрын
I always try and make sure I watch the other teams planes on the spawn screen before I jump into a plane, just to avoid spawning in and getting wrecked. You can also time this to work out that you end up behind your opponent when they fly into your spawn and are on the way out..

nice video although you should make your videos easier to understand for new players cause i had to make my own researching to completely understand what were you saying.tbh chandelle looks like you are going in circle and you are not switiching direction at all so i would love if you explain it better

G'day Sky. Love your vids and they've definitely helped my piloting.. a lot! About settings; what do you have your FOV set to? I'm on PS4 as well.If you're having trouble shaking a good pilot do you ever look around in 1st person?
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
I set 3rd person vehicle FOV to max. I used to try to look around but I find it's not necessary anymore. You lose time while looking around, it's better to try to predict where they are. There's only so many places they could go in a certain amount of time. Use the 3/4 rule as a jumping off point and try to develop your awareness.
@weepingeye7 жыл бұрын
Thanks champ, I'll have a look at that. The 3/4 rule has helped a bunch. I realise now that in my attempts to be unpredictable I was often switching badly, effectively cutting back across the enemy's sights for them.
@thebulletkin83932 жыл бұрын
So worn the 3/4 rule, you make 3/4 of a turn by diving down then you turn towards them?

thanks for the video. very helpful. i am noob pilot. just started a couple of weeks. in a fighter i am able to keep up on a tail just ok, but my accuracy is pretty bad. on the other hand i am pretty bad in loosing a tail. i get killed almost all the time. question: i have pinch up on the space bar. i always press it when turning sides trying to lose the tail. i thing that is wrong right? would you please comment about that? thanks

Here's my keybindings on PC. I have pitch up on W. kzbin.info/www/bejne/apu0nquMZc6Cptk Just pitching is a really weak move. Try combining all 3 inputs. I bind pitch up to W because it's logical for me to use it in conjunction with A or D to yaw at the same time. Try out this basic maneuvers tutorial. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKbaZ41va8mkZpo

Kind of late to say this, if you are going meeting with an enemy pilot where you both see each other in a forward position, dive if he tries to crash into you and start turning up then doing the first move
@winds106 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your flying vids. Question - what is the best way to tell you're through with a turn 3/4 way? Is there a method you use to figure that out, is it a timing thing? Thanks.
@SkySkywalker4856 жыл бұрын
It is a timing thing. Generally in public, pilots loop or they switch without proper timing. In BF1, the loops are very wide and you just need to be able to visualize how to cut into your opponent's loop because they will be out of your field of view a lot.
@shavofairbanks82326 жыл бұрын
I wish in bf1 that stall out maneuvers would work but the engines are way to good they can climb you straight up for ever
@davidortiz1145 жыл бұрын
what do you mean by positive, neutral, and negative dogfight?
@Wugga5 жыл бұрын
Positive = you have the advantage (you have the opponent in front of you, and they have their back to you), neutral = no advantage to either pilot (either head on, back to back, side by side etc), negative = you're at a disadvantage (opponent is facing you from behind).

I would recommend COMPLETELY removing your drivers, then reinstalling them. If that doesn't work, split your partition (hard drive space) down the middle and reinstall Windows on that partition and dual boot to the new os. Then reinstall your drivers, and reinstall battlefield, if it fixes it, remove the old partition and completely reinstall Windows, if not, idk man.

Until this certain video, I wasn't aware what you meant with the low and high yo-yos. Even though I'd say I got the theory behind it and had some good time executing it into practice, since I've started watching your videos I've been getting 50+ kills every game I spend on air and dominate 99 percent of dogfights I find myself in. So once again, regards & thanks for the hard work. Got some questions though; On a negative dogfight, when would be the rightest timing to execute an immelman ? I mean, I saw you doing that a few times in the past videos, and hell, it's almost the best way to switch your angle while using a good old fokker, so I've been using it on mostly ground attacks and sharp turns on positive fights, but never gave it a try in negative ones. A second question, since the day I learnt the 3/4's rule, been using it. But in time my natural respond to circle jerkers transformed into an unintentional high yo-yo; so far I guess I've been lucky with turning those into positive, would you recommend switching back to low yo-yo on those situations ?
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
Cinar Oyster glad you're finding the videos useful. I'll break my response down into multiple for easier understanding
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
Cinar Oyster you should use the immelman once you've increased angle off tail. I often follow up a break with an immelman. you can also hear if your opponent is not quite lined up with your tail in your headphones. next week's fighter plane mastery will clarify this greatly
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
Cinar Oyster high yo yo is still an extremely effective maneuver in a positive dogfight. the low yo yo is much faster but you need altitude and for buildings not to be in the way. the low yo yo is also riskier and that's why naturally the high yo yo is more comfortable at first. I'm very comfortable with the low yo yo so I always prefer it because I want to end dogfights more quickly. I'd say practice the low yo yo to build that comfort level
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
Cinar Oyster of course you always weigh risk reward. if I feel my opponent is really good then I'm less likely to take risks

Love your series but I have a hard time watching the 3rd person follow camera on. It's nauseating and you can see your maneuvers a hell of a lot better if you disable it. You should try it. Makes a world of difference

Frank D Tank I'll turn it off for my viewers. anybody that would rather keep it on. weigh in now.
@Ramses48217 жыл бұрын
skywalker, after rereading my post, i realize that i could ve done a better job wording it. let s try again. i should have suggested trying the camera off when you fly b/c it is so much better. the plane rolls instead of the screen. I am able to see my maneuvers and make adjustments much easier with it off. plus it looks more badass when you see your plane rolling, banking, etc. imo. now i can play with the camera on if I wanted to but watching videos of someone with it on make me nauseated. I don't know about anyone else but honestly i cant watch some of your longer videos b/c of it. again keep doing what you do. you have great videos from what i have been able to watch..lol
@SkySkywalker4857 жыл бұрын
Frank D Tank I understand. part of watching videos is for entertainment. I'm sure I'll be able to play just fine with the roll cam off. if there's any tactical advantage of either, I'll report on a video
@Ramses48217 жыл бұрын
you da man!! I just didn't want to come across as telling you how to do your videos or flying without the camera is better but rather just share my experience flying with it off. that way if you haven't tried the camera off before, do try it, and like it, then all the better. if not, that's fine as well. i know that my flying experience improved once i turned the follow camera roll off.
@Reia11th7 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I think that turning off follow cam might mess up muscle memory in some situation. For example, when the plane is upside down, you have to remember that the controller is flipped too. When pulling back the stick, the plane will head up, but when upside down it will head down instead. I am sure some people won't see this as a problem, but you get the point. IMO, turning it on synchronizes your visual and movements in a better way.
