So good!👏 I definitely needed this! I've had a lot of influence from non-believers with what their dating is like. They talk about the physical side of it so much and sometimes it feels like I'm the only one striving to save myself and honor God with my relationships. Your channel is so encouraging to me because you don't water things down. You speak truth and you speak it boldly.

@@HannahJanelWilliamson Just to be clear, are you saying that the government should make it illegal for unmarried men and women to be alone together? Also, wouldn't this technically imply that because gay men, for example, are tempted by other men, they can only be alone with women but not other men? It ultimately fails to take into account that men are capable of also harassing other men and women other women. Furthermore, having a rule about never being alone with the opposite gender can be illegal in certain situations and ultimate be discrimination, particularly in the workplace. Not to mention, the rule falsely implies that men and women can't control their actions and don't have free will. This highly legalistic guideline is not explicitly mentioned in The Bible at it ultimately shows an unwillingness to teach men and women how to properly coexist with one another. What this basically perpetuates is that the only way to prevent men and women from being inappropriate with each other is to have witnesses, which isn't true. The rule basically paint men as inherently being slaves to their sexual urges and women as objects of lust. I think the reality is that because movies and tv shows so often unrealistically show what is supposed to happen when a man and woman are alone as a means of being more dramatic and entertaining, we often assume that that's how things actually are suppose to be. In addition, a lot of these cases of men "falling into temptation" with women are not motivated by sexual desire but rather abuses of power. It's not a whole lot different from a thief insisting that he must have a parole officer with him every time he goes to the bank to prevent him from robbing it. For a thief that is truly tempted to rob people and doesn't feel they can control themself, maybe that's a good rule for them, but it doesn't make it a good rule for everyone else, most of whom manage to go places alone and successfully fight the urge to rob people. The rule essentially presumes that either the man can't be completely trusted, or the woman can't be trusted, which probably means that either you or your partner need counseling so that you guys can trust each other. Also worth noting is that if a Muslim were to impose this sort of rule, many people, even likely you, would be highly critical of them for it. Finally, it should be noted that Jesus himself was alone with women on certain occasions, even though he wasn't married to them.

Thank you for sharing Hannah! Something I learned from being with my ex is being equally yoked in our love for Jesus. She expressed her love to be a woman who God uses but she was still a freshly new believer and I’d known the Lord for 5 years. I was her distraction she was mine. I had big dreams for the Lord but we didn’t meet eyes on it. Sin came in and our relationship had to end. Now that I’m 23 I’ve never been so on fire and full of joy! Being used for His Glory and I hope the same for those who had to deal with that similar situation. God is good! Their is Grace for your Race. Finish well the race!

A tip for some of the situations. If you are in a car with someone ( mainly if you are a teen) tell your parents about the time you should be there . They will expect you to be there by a certain time . If you have to be alone with them sit on different chairs. Like I have to be in my bfs room bc his parents so just sit in the chair you can be close but not too close :) but remember we all make mistakes and your not any less is a person keep working hard I know I need to. Hi Hannah just something to bare in mind - Gomer (go'-mer) was the wife of the prophet Hosea (8th century BC), mentioned in the Hebrew Bible's Book of Hosea (1:3). Hosea 1:2 refers to her alternatively as a "promiscuous woman" (NIV), a "harlot" (NASB), and a "whore" (KJV) but Hosea is told to marry her according to Divine appointment. We never know what God has install for us , but we need to be obedient , His plan's are not out plan's , He is the beginning and the end , the alpha and the omega , He sees past your transgressions to find the diamond within , because He values you and the choices you will make to bring you closer to Him , He takes a negative and makes it a positive , You will be tested and refined like gold until you are pure , I do not profess to understand God , But understand that sometimes one needs to endure alot of pain to burn up the pride and self preservation , as with the prodigal son that came back to his father , We are sinful and destructive creates by our very core , only God knows how to mold our hearts , we need to know that by choice we can come home , and fix our brokenness , Paul speaks of suffering is good because it produces endurance and character , someone whom has experienced those things can add so much insight and perspective , because he or she came threw with a deeper understand of God and who He is. xxx Lance great channel.

Disclaimer: if you choose to save yourself for religious reasons, that is very admirable and good for you--these are life choices that are well within your rights. But a lot of the messages promoted in videos like these aren't great and can cause damage, especially on a young, impressionable audience. You act like the second someone is alone with their significant other they can't resist jumping on top of each other. This is just...not the case and promotes such a warped viewpoint of sex. So many Christians get married young largely (but not entirely of course) for sexual reasons, which is not smart nor is it a good foundation for marriage. And then overnight in a magical ceremony, sex is suddenly okay? How can you go from repressing sexual thoughts and actions for your whole life to telling yourself everything is fair game in one day? This is how people end up needing therapy.

Don't be alone with opposite gender sounds sexist to me. It's 100% alright to be alone with anybody because even if you're alone with the same gender, the devil can still tempt you to sin sexually with them.

Don't take it that way it's just most of the world and especially Christians are heterosexual. But you're right that even with the same gender it can happen. But isn't the norm and people who have same sex attractions should be careful with the same gender and choose who to be alone with wisely.

God loves you. It's the sin he doesn't like. Just because you have attraction to women doesn't mean you need to act on it. Please do not give into what the world tries to tell you.
@featheredskeptic13014 жыл бұрын
About number 2: Can you be alone with the same gender? ;) Seriously though, this "keeping pure before marriage" is just silly. Have at it, you will have a better relationship, also you are going to do a better job at selecting the correct person. There's a reason why divorce rates are highest in the most religious communities you know.
@hatedapostlecooper51694 жыл бұрын
No you won't. Divorce rates are high because they think like you and want to do what you are saying. They think Marriage is about their own selves. Marriage is about love and serving your spouse through the thick and thin, good and bad times. That's real love.
@featheredskeptic13014 жыл бұрын
@@hatedapostlecooper5169 They do what I'm saying AFTER they are married? Well that's kinda expected from people that never got around to gather some sexual experience before they got married. I'm saying you should do that before marriage, also do it with the person you are about to marry. This way you will not be curious about this stuff after you got married. So no, you flipped my words 180 degrees.
@featheredskeptic13014 жыл бұрын
@dev0n james Well according to all statistics they are better than in the most religious areas. Also I'm not a feminist nor lgbtq nor are atheists, feminists and homosexuals the same thing. One can be either or both or it may not be. Just because these are people you don't like, you don't get to pretend they are.
@featheredskeptic13014 жыл бұрын
@Javelin Melody We can excuse it all day, the fact remains. If you have the chance of living with the person as if married before the actual marriage, aren't you going to be able to do a more informed choice? And of course there's lots of cheating, especially in the "pure before marriage communities". Once you actually have sex, you get curious and next thing you know you are both cheating.
@featheredskeptic13014 жыл бұрын
@dev0n james There we go, we finally revealed the tinfoil hat. So there's a global conspiracy to "fix" some obscure statistics, and the whole reason behind that is... to make fundamentalist christians act like normal, sane people? Otherwise - yes. I am fully aware you don't accept any of the data. In the 21-st century you have to do that in order to convince yourself that magic is real, dead people come back to life and snakes can talk. About the last thing: I'm happy to see you don't like me, this means I'm doing something right.
