You can only extract 100 % of the car.its literally impossible to outdrive your car no matter how good you are its just most drivers can only do 95 while the amazing ones can consistently do 99-100%

My dad reminded me last night that when I was 4 years old and started watching F1, I would gather all my teddies together and give them a basic education of the sport. I would say, "right teddies, Friday is practice, Saturday is qualifying and Sunday is the race. " I literally went red at the memory. They were the same teddies, I still have in bed with me today nearly at the age of 22, mainly because there is no other good place to put them ! ❤

You left off the first one that came to mind for me: Norris Miami. Max was out in front and it was at a time when no one betted against Max. The pylon and safety car made the result unexpected.

I think Norris definitely has the pace to be WDC in the coming years. His limiting factor this year was with race craft, strategy and starts etc. he and the team had failed to optimise the pace he had. These are much easier to fix compared to a fundamental lack of pace.

I am actually curious to see Lando racing under pressure. So far all his wins were with a pretty big gap to P2 so we actually never saw him fight for that P1 lap after lap. For example Oscar in Baku was under incredible pressure from Charles but managed himself pretty well while Lando almost bottled Singapore twice with no one close to him.

Yes!! We agree that McLaren did overstep the car setup rules quite badly, for most the the season ......... but .........thanks to the disappointing FIA monitoring they got away with it!!!!! Next year, the FIA needs to be totally impartial and keep all teams adhering to the FIA agreed rules.

@@MrPulseF1 but as the radios suggested the mclarens struggled with tyre deg and the reason piastri was told to pit as Ferrari faked leclerc boxing prompting norris to pit and they pace diff was convincing they boxed him as leclerc was faster at the end of the stint on the hards because of lower deg what wasnt noted in this video was the defensive masterclass by sainz who held up piastri by 2 laps which would have made pia retake the lead so it wasnt an underserved win rather a lec masterclass in tyre management and sainz holding up piastri

Italian gp not quite true. McLaren did asked to Oscar to stay out, but Oscar said it's very optimistic to stay out on these tyres till end(His lap times dropped to early 1.24 while leclerc was still doing mid 1.23) that's why they pitttes and also the reason Oscar pitted 3-4 laps after lando. They were considering Oscar for One stop but Mclaren pushed early in stint which cost them the race.

i agree also in thew simulation piastri would have been faster if not for sainz holding him up 2 laps in dirty air and using battery energy to slow piastris pace (mclarens predicted sainz would pit to counter norris but dint expect the gamble ferrari would take as they had nothing to lose

Australia (arguably) - Verstappen could have won without brake issue. Spain (arguably) - Norris' bad start cost him; had he stayed ahead of Russell he probably would have won. Austria, as mentioned in the comments. Britain - Norris should have won this, but McLaren changed him to slicks too late and put him onto the wrong compound for some reason. Hungary (arguably) - McLaren's double team order made no sense. Azerbaijan (arguably) - Leclerc should have won this, but either took it too easy after his stop, or failed to switch on his hards quickly enough. Qatar (arguably) - Norris might have won the race without the penalty, although the situation would have been a bit like in the Emila-Romagna Grand Prix, where a faster car doesn't guarantee the win.

Why Austria 2024 isn't in this list? It was a perfect example of Wrong Driver winner but just present at the right moment and right time. It was a standard Max Verstappen Win but then with the poor pitstop it was either Lando or Max until the collision and Russell Won. Also if you're putting Brazil in this to suggest that Max got lucky with the Red Flag then in that same case Miami should also be there for Lando getting benefitted by the Safety Car

I'm literally saying him winning from that far down was insane and just shouldn't have happened. Norris and Russell should have won because they had such a big advantage. Interesting list. I'd definitely put Hamiltons win in Belgium, were Russells loss was basically on Mercedes + the lack of a cooldown lap, and Miami, when Max should've won but the safety car missing Lando handed him track position after pitting.

shoulda woulda coulda...... RBR rarely makes a mistake on the pit wall, and Max extracted the most out of a slower car. McLaren's WCC win is a future postscript in the Max Verstappen story. People might remember Michael Schumacher's first win was with Benetton in 1994, but few will remember who won the WCC that year without resorting to an internet search. The only reason people remember Ferrari won the WCC in 2008 was because the WDC ended in controversy.

Baku, silverstone and Austria. Baku Charles was to conservative on the hard and lost a 6 second lead. Silverstone McLaren where just out right the fastest but made terrible decisions and Austria well obviously max or lando should have won

I never saw those when Vettel won four in a row or Hamilton won four in a row. So why discrediting the rightful champion? The wrong driver won? Ha, clear example of british bias leading to the wrong conclusion. The wrong car might have won, but that's because the driver made all the difference. Three times Max and once Chuck where the McKaren should have won. Especially in Brazil where the wet makes it as close to a spec race as can be, the driver makes the difference. Max putting his RB on top where Norris completely fumbled it in the McKaren. That shows you who the better driver is and luckily, the better driver (the best to ever do it even) won the championship, as it happened in 21.

I think you miss the point, it's more max shouldn't have won from where he started... Lando and George had the biggest advantage possible and both of them absolutely screwed it up whereas max was perfect in the trickiest conditions. I'm literally praising max here
