No. 1, Have you ever thought what’s best for Riley’s future career other than a professional hockey player? What if she decided to be an astronaut so that she could go to the moon?
No. 2, Did you know that Joy has a purpose of displaying a Bing Bong action figure in her bedroom? Turns out Joy did this to honor Bing Bong as her hero for saving her life in the first movie.
No. 3, When Anxiety spins so fast like a tornado, she’s basically telling Joy to “catch me if you can”. This portrays how anxiety will ruin your life if you let it take over.
And no. 4, Bree initiates her first move that she can forgive Riley. Then, Grace joins in and the three became friends again. Someone like Bree reminds us that a good friend is a friend that forgives.

The moon is metaphorical. Going to the moon was 3 yo Riley's idea of something to dream about, but as she grows up these ideas change. Bing Bong asking Joy to "take Riley to the moon" is really about having aspirations and fulfilling them - which Riley can do without literally being an astronaut.

I portrayed 3 as more of the racing thoughts that come with a panic attack. The tornado is both anxiety pushing harder and harder, working the console overtime, and the inability to see anything clearly as the other emotions are unable to see anything that Riley sees anymore. Spoilers ahead tho I’m sure ppl knew this I think this is also what the bad emotions flooding into her belief system represent, in that moment and through that panic attack, every awful thing Riley had done, every suppressed mistake and imperfection came flooding back all at once. These memories changed the way she saw herself, the good blurring in with the bad.

Yeah, I feel like the full change of the belief system is Joy realizing what she told Anxiety: “you don’t get to control Riley” or whatever she said. She finally understands that Riley is not controlled by her emotions and that she is the one who chooses how she sees herself and uses her emotions. The first movie to me was Riley understanding that all of her emotions have a purpose for her well being especially through difficult events. The second movie felt like Riley learning that she can’t let one emotion consume her regardless of perceived value. First movie is struggle between Joy and Sadness until the end when Joy figured out that Sadness is nowhere near harmful to Riley and comes to terms with that. Second movie is Riley experiencing changes around her and within her, causing her to question her sense of self. She changes to fit in until she realizes that it’s not her and goes back. This is where she finally has a control over her emotions, hence the “Joy I think Riley wants you.”

I couldn’t manage my anxiety on my own, had to use meds. Been on anxiety meds since around 10, (2011) but about 2 years ago I finally was able to manage my anxiety well enough on my own I no longer need those meds. Stopped getting panic attacks daily and such.

I’m still around the same age as Riley in the movie and so her panic attack made me almost cry (which I barely do over movies) because of how relatable it was. Definitely one of the best Disney movies to come out recently

Riley’s Anxiety attack really hit hard. I have to say props to the animators and screenwriters it was so good. Seeing Anxiety moving so fast we can’t even see it, seeing the lone tear slip down her face when she realizes that that her plan wasn’t working, that her plan to help Riley only hurt her, when she saw she failed. Ouch. Also yea I love Bree. Yes, Riley was kinda a jerk. But Bree forgave her still which is so amazing. Despite not truly understanding the struggles Riley was having, she still forgave. We need to be more like Bree

although its important to know that some people dont deserve forgiveness, a good friend forgives when its needed, yes but forgiving everyone can cause problems with people taking advantage of that kindness, its a sad truth that kind people arent treated as they should be

The panic attack was so so genuine it felt like it was happening to me because it has happened to me before and I feel like that and I understand I connect to this. We watch the movie with my parents and let's just say that at least they understood me better after that movie

I honestly wouldn't call what anxiety did a "catch me if you can" moment. It felt like anxiety was experiencing the panic she was causing Riley. Something I've noticed about anxiety is for most of the movie she was pretty "calm" and "collected". She didn't start actually acting like uncontrollable anxiety till she found out she was hurting Riley. Multiple times during the movie anxiety talks about making a "better Riley" and wanting to "help Riley". I connect with the idea that if our emotions were personified anxiety would think it's helping us to plan ahead and keep us safe. I've often heard therapists and doctors refer to anxiety as " a broken fight or flight response" which was what this anxiety reminded me of, a tool to keep us safe but it's broken.

The panic attack scene was so cool and intense to watch. I was with my mom and I have frequent panic attacks and anxiety attacks and my mom always says, “shake it off! You’re not scared, you’re just faking it.”. Right after we left the theater, we couldn’t find our car. I got a mini anxiety attack and she said “Is anxiety on the keyboard?” I laughed and said yes. Legendary movie.
