They do not come already mixed - you order supplies and do it yourself. I'm doing it - it's not that hard, watch some video's on youtube you can do it.

so basically ask a lawyer how to setup this type of business is what you recommend, because you explain nothing about setting up the infrastructure, if a Dr has to be involved to prescribe saline or vitamin additives, any paperwork or what state alphabet agencies to contact etc etc. For example in California a Dr has to 'own' 51% of the company and paramedics can start a business without the same oversight that an RN or LPN would have.

yes, b/c I would have to go through all 50 states to explain the variety of infrastructures and basically you need a lawyer to set up the legal structure. Most states have a CPOM clause which requires the physician to be in a professional corporation. Physicians in CA own 51% of the PC, not your business. Paramedics cannot start this business without oversight and in fact, I know of paramedics who lost their business b/c they were not eligible to own this type of business in the first place. Ultimately its on you to check your state regs and determine if you can own this business. In addition, I cannot dispense legal advice on a youtube channel as a non lawyer, and I imagine most lawyers would not do the same either b/c they want you to pay them.

@@Ktrvrn the doc is easy, we can set you up with a doctor in your state, or you can simply place a $20 ad in Indeed and get inundated with willing docs. If your area is saturated with IV clinics, then you need to niche into an area such as body building, headaches/neuro, events, gyms, oncology or something specific. The more niche you are, the easier it is to get clients and the more predictable your income will be.

Do I need a medical director for this in Texas?

This is a very unique business that should be operated safely and within our scope of practice. A medical director is needed for a registered nurse in any state, but in many states, NPs can function independently. So really if any nurse is following a few basic rules and working within their scope of practice, it’s a fantastic business to run and definitely not a threat to their license.

Hi Catie love the video. I live in Cali and it is one of the hardest states to start. You have to have a medical doctor, not an NP not a consulting MD. And that doctor must own 51% while you can own the other 49% of your company. It’s so frustrating

We have not had Canadian nurses in our course. We are not familiar with the legal aspects of starting IV Hydration in Canada. We do have a nurse in Mexico, but she had to go through some major hoops that we were unable to help with. The formulas and the business set up would be the same, but you need to make sure you can legally own this type of business in your country. Thanks!

What state are you in? A lot of lawyers dont understand the ins and outs of this business. You might want to work with Doctors for Providers as well. Yes most of our students are RNs. There are varying degrees if difficulties in each state, some with no issues and NY and CA being the most expensive requiring a lawyer to set up. But in all states we are present!

it depends on your state. CPOM states it is highly doubtful. You can check out a list of CPOM states on our FAQ page NursePreneurs.com/IVhydration/FAQ I would try to find a doctor who will be willing to work with you first, b/c even if the state allows you to own the business, you might have trouble finding a medical director to work directly with you. They may require an RN or NP on site. If you want to partner with a medical director it might be different, but there still might be concern about having an RN on site. I would investigate this with potential medical directors before getting too far into it.
