What do in-laws and cocktail jazz have in common? A jazz artist of high educational pedigree would answer, "neither are part of the family." Incidentally, that artist probably lives alone. A diplomatic response would be, "they are both well-suited for casual listening." However, a more gracious tone would be, "they are even better when taken together." Of course, modern jazz music is as diverse as the audiences who embrace it. And just like when it comes to in-laws...a bit of graciousness goes a long way. I absolutely love your playing and lessons, but after watching a lesson on which you teach pretty quickly it seems i need to know how to read music to repeat them on my own. As an 'older' beginner I'd rather not learn notation. It would help greatly if the chords were shown in letter form also on a printable sheet.

@@PianoWithJonny hi jonny i think for beginners will it be helpful if you transpose to C?for example this instead of F Dm Gm C you can do in C Am Dm G..that way we right ayaw know two scales C and Am since they are all whites..tnx!
