Simply amazing! I thought I had done every bun available on my 2 ballerinas...but THIS takes the cake! Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!!

Wow...I can see you have done this lots of times. I think it will take me doing it many times to get the hang of it, but your results have inspired me. What a pretty look. Thank you.

yupyup1562 thank you, oh yes, hundreds of ballet performances, I do use a mirror for on stage, but we couldn't figure out how to record it that way, so it took me a little longer than normal without a mirror as I had to feel for all the sections versus just simply seeing them. (So sorry, I lost access to the account and I had no idea all these replies were here!)

Thank you so much - that's the first time in a long time I've found something new I can do with my hair!! Being as mine's so long and thick, it's hard to find anything elegant yet feasible within a reasonable time period, but this took less than ten minutes and feels really secure. I would feel comfortable wearing this all day. Bravissima!

I first saw this video last spring, and must I say, Thank you. I use this at least once a weak, and it really helps getting my long hair out of the way. It's really hard to find tutorials for longer hair, since the tutorials who claim to be for 'long hair' usually only wrks for chest length. It's not easy for us with tailbone length... So thanks, really Thanks

I needed a hair style I could do for my cousin's wedding. I have 2 left hands when it comes to hair. And the style had to be a bit durable since it was a beach wedding. This was a lifesaver.I felt like combining the strands at the end hide most of the flyaways. Plus I added a clip-in flower where the very end was to hide any strays that came out and to dress it up a bit more. It held great and looked good, even if it wasn't as big as your's. Thanks for helping us hair challenged girls.
@KristinaBallerina6 жыл бұрын
wolsh45 this is my go to style to survive a full 2 hour ballet and tons of pirouettes, so it's solid! If you watch at 4:50 I do begin to combine all the tails into a single strand to hold all the wisps in, and then I tuck the last few inches all under the last coil. So glad it worked so well for you, that makes me so happy! (So sorry, I lost access to the account and I had no idea all these replies were here!)

Thank you for this very instructive, concise video. Appreciate the camera being positioned so each move was clearly evident, plus the pleasant soundtrack. The color of your hair is lovely and it is evident that you have taken good care of it. I wish more long hair videos were as professional as yours. Being able to SEE each facet of the hairstyle is worth more than a page of dialogue!

I would love to know what type of hair pins you are using I can't seem to find ones that stay in my hair for ballet
@KristinaBallerina6 жыл бұрын
peace43ver these are just the basic 2 1/2"? Goody hair pins, not bobby pins, but the U shaped ones that are open on the ends. They make longer ones 4-5" which I just tend to use on the outer coils as otherwise there is just *waaaayyyy* too much metal under my hair, lol. (So sorry, I lost access to the account and Google won't help me retrieve my password)

@Zippedychick They're called hair pins. Note a difference between bobby pin and hair pin, as well as the term "hairpin curve" on a road. These were used long before bobby pins. I have three inch celluloid ones from the 19th century.

How long is your hair? I've decided to let my TBL hair grow, just to see how long it'll go. A new bun is good to have. I think I'd try using less pins, but I guess it might make the next twist bunch under the last one. Thanks for a nifty, pretty protective looking bun idea!
@KristinaBallerina6 жыл бұрын
MrsBrit1 I think it was TBL or classic when I did this, it usually grows down to my thighs before I trim, it up. Yes, sadly it needs this many pins as the coils start to wander and overlap and slide under each other. I use a ton more when it's for performance as I can't have chunks of my hair flying around! (So sorry, I forgot about this account and I had no idea all these replies were here!)
