I know this is a older video and you've done a lot of modifications to get this far but thought I'd mention that predator is now making a 459 max engine that has a pressurized oiling and that could make a difference on long-term use, especially using a small oil cooler with it. Just thought I'd mention it, it's awesome what you have done with it.

Man I commend you for exploring the alternative engine realm. I'm currently bringing a 912ULS into current airworthiness in a SLSA and it is INSANE the cost of everything! Of course they like to use weird "only available in the European market" stuff. Carry on and best wishes!

@kidkhaos6427 Жыл бұрын
Every Aerolite 103 ever built shares the same exact tail feather location as this airplane. It happens to be extremely handy to be able to blast the tail with the prop. It provides superb authority on the controls. The engine is definitely quieter than the rotax 2 stroke it replaced. Maybe a cell phone microphone isn't a great decibel measuring apparatus? 🤷♂️

@@Down_To_The_Bone_Garage its weird. The "launch" when I repease the brakes doesn't feel as hard as the rotax, but it hops off the ground super fast still. Im still experimenting with it. It will definitely take some getting used to but overall it provides a nice experience. I think it will work out nicely.

there are a lot of performance parts for the 440cc engine, and even the newer 460cc engine as the Aftermarket parts interchange with the gx390 honda engine parts, but the 650cc engine which does not share parts with any other engine only has a billet con rod and heavy duty valve springs to offer but it has enough HP even at stock 21-23hp stock and after some mods should be 30-35hp, whats your take on the 625cc single cylinder engine? seems like the threshold from single cylinder to v-twin is around 650cc to 670cc, but v-twin is so darn heavy to qualify for UL part 103. have you taken a look at the EFI kits as well for the small engines, walbro has one as well as ecotrons and then of course the ebay versions?

So this engine achieves 1.42 hp per cid That's fantastic, Rotax will be jealous, they only get 1.2 hp per cid on the rotax 912 uls with 82.5 cid and 10.8:1 compression ratio A few more tweaks and you can easily surpass the ULS Vz POWER TURBO conversion of the 912 which achieves 1.46 hp per cid.
