In order to sell your books on Amazon you need to be on the first page of the Amazon search listings and the higher up on that page the better. To have the best chance of getting on that first page and sell more KDP low content and medium content books there are a number of tasks you need to perform. In this video I discuss the factors that Amazon looks at when deciding where to place your book in the listings and I give you 4 actionable steps you can take today to improve your book’s rankings and increase the odds of appearing on the first page.

Great video as always Paul. Some of my books sell basically nothing without ads, where as some of them that have done well (with ads) on launch, tend to then rank well moving forward. Especially the sales history part was so interesting and helped me ease my mind a bit as i got a book published a few weeks ago, i just let it run organically and at first it was storming through the bsrs, got to 180k within two weeks or so and two more weeks later it was around 900k which i couldn´t believe like how the heck did that huge drop happen this fast? I´ll see how the future of this book goes and till then publish a lot more books.

Either way is fine. I know there a lot do say there is an advantage to running a campign straight away to get that intial boost in sales which can help the book sell in the longer term. So I would probably do that at the moment.

I have read that it's indexed by Amazon. I haven't been able to check myself as I've not yet created A+ content where the keywords weren't already in either my keyword boxes or titles but it's something I'm going to be testing.

You can save it as draft until you have the cover. Then you can upload the cover and finally hit publish.

You have to put it in the centre of the white box on the cover template.

Yes, go to your bookshelf. On your book listing click on the little box with three dots on it. It opens a menu and their you can select unpublish.

You don’t actually “pay” anything. The cost of the book is ‘printing cost + your profit”. Once the book sells Amazon takes the ‘printing cost’ from that sale and gives you the balance.

In your KDP dashboard you can go to the Amazon page where your book is (it is a drop down menu and you can choose which Amazon you want to go to) and then just copy the link.

You can now get free isbn again but you have to get it after you publish it to go back and edit it and they will give you that option

So I have decided to make some test banks, I’m not going to use test banks from the books are published, I’m planning on creating chapters and tests according to the topic and create questions on my own, obviously there are somewhere similar questions, coz you can’t change human biology. Not sure what you mean by test banks! There's no issues that I know of of publishing educational content. But you may need to place disclaimers in the book depending on the nature of the educational content especially if it's of a medical nature. Best of luck with your medical studies!

Unrelated question if I may. I'm trying to learn how to take a copyright free book and download it's interior into Canva to format and size for KDP. In this example, the book has 221 pages and I have already downloaded it into Canva. From there I am stuck on how to actually get the pages from the design tab to the actual pages in the working area. Please help!!!

It's difficult to picture what you've done. Normally when you upload a pdf file (I'm assuming it's a pdf) it opens automatically in canva.

@@paulmarles First, thank you for responding. Very kind of you. I downloaded an epub, converted it to a pdf. Then drag and drop to the Canva left hand tab. It's when I tried to drag from there to the working area that it didn't work. Now I know I discovered part of the problem and that is page count. The book interior is 221pgs and I forgot that Canva has a 100pg limit. I'm hoping that if I split the pdf it will work after that. Fingers crossed.

If you're changing the title then it would require a new ISBN. It would be classed as a new publiscation.
